    For everybody looking for some information about the AF 777 bouncing or for all these « experts » judging it : Approach was stabilized, first contact with the ground was ok and pilot actuated the reverser lever. A wind gust lifted the left wing and gear, inhibiting spoiler deployment, which caused the bounces. In case of bounce, Boeing FCTM says : « hold or re-establish a normal landing attitude (…) If a high, hard bounce occurs, initiate a go around ». It also says : « WARNING : After reverse thrust is initiated (ie : pilot actuated the thrust reverser lever), a full stop landing MUST be made ». There has been no high / hard bounce. Pilots did what they are requested to do. They requested a maintenance inspection which doesn’t show any anomaly. No aircraft limitations were exceeded and the plane goes on flying normally. No flight parameters anomaly (PIO). They just suffered a strong gust at the worst moment and bounces are mainly the consequence of no spoiler deployment. Everybody stating something else either don’t have information to do it or is a liar.

      Interesting. Expert Kriss5054 how do you know the captain actuated the thrust reverser lever at the beginning and not at the third bounce ? And you're saying the pilot actuated the reverser lever while bouncing*, I wonder what does the "Beoing FCTM" say about that ? (* the plane bounced immediately at touchdown and the wings were not level, how you can say the "first contact with the ground was ok")

    • @deltasmith508
      @deltasmith508 7 місяців тому +1

      Bah voyons 😂 C’est clairement une erreur de pilotage. je sais qu’ils ont appris aux oiseaux à voler, mais il y a un moment il faut arrêter de les couvrir.

    • @Kriss5054

      @@tt-of4xv Flight reverser has been actuated immediately at first landing. Information from flight analysis. Actuating the reverser which no gear in contact off the ground is not possible : mechanically locked.
      Anyway, even if the reversers had not been actuated at first touchdown, going around is not the best option for Boeing as soon as bounce is not hard / high.
      Wings were not level at touchdown because of crosswind.
      I’m not an « expert ». I’m an AF 787 CPT. This is why I got some extra informations. I’m fed up to hear criticisms coming from haters who sometimes have no other experience of flight than a few tenths hours or a flight simulator hobby.

    Great footage! I was on AF293 (F-GSQV) which landed from HND at 08:43. You didn’t happen to catch our bouncy landing did you? There were no available parking stands at Terminal 2E and we ended up parking remote. It took a while before we disembarked as there were concerns over the stairs moving in the wind. We were eventually allowed to disembark a few people at a time, whilst the captain held onto the aircraft door to prevent it moving. I’ve never experienced anything like it.

      They don’t know how to fly 777, they should take lessons from United, Air Canada or Boeing Test pilots… AF is so used to Airbuses… the elevator deflection on the the 777-200 Landing was crazy….

      AF always had tons of Boeing, there are still some old pilots at AF that have literally never flown an Airbus, and a lot of pilots at AF prefers to fly Boeing so no, nothing to do with being used too much to Airbus, just bad wind and possibly some mistakes/over correction@@sahouagouma7469

    to what do we attribute the fact that the smaller planes seemed to handle the crosswinds better than the bigger planes? I would've thought the weight of the bigger planes a will allow them to handle the wind better, or was it the pilots? can somebody educate me?

    • @PilotLukeReal
      @PilotLukeReal  7 місяців тому +2

      As a matter of fact it's quite the opposite, smaller aircraft being lighter and smaller get moved around much more than the heavier and wider aircraft. The 777 being heavier and covering more surface than the A320, it is more stable to high wind conditions whereas the smaller A320 struggles a lot more to be put down to the ground. Don't forget that gravity is constantly pulling us down to the ground so the heavier you are the more force is bringing you down.

    I do wish someone would explain, is it so windy the plane can't come down at the normal speed, why so many go around? Sorry I'm a bit new, It looks like the bigger planes have a better time of landing in such windy conditions.

    • @ilikeplanees4925
      @ilikeplanees4925 7 місяців тому +2

      Bigger aircraft have more power and are hard to move by wind unless it's really severe. Aircraft like an easyJet a320 is very light and gets moved around by crosswinds a lot more so they have to crab more. Also they may have a windshere warning where a large amount of headwind and crosswind could stall the palne upon final

    • @PilotLukeReal
      @PilotLukeReal  7 місяців тому +1

      To add on to the comment above, in these conditions the aircraft had suspected windshear (sudden change in wind speed and direction which could bring the plane to a stall) on short final reported by previous aborted landings which pushed some pilots to abort the landing a few miles out and attempt again on another runway. Bigger aircraft cover a bigger surface, weigh more and are more stable just like the A350 in the video

    • @robwillcox2307
      @robwillcox2307 7 місяців тому

      If the approach becomes unstable, then a go around is usually carried out. This can happen at various altitudes whilst on the glide slope.
