  • This is my first brewing film and probably the only one. So much work, but I think I've did quite well actually. I forgot to add one shoot (setup for boiling) but shit happens. Enjoy!

    Fermenting ?
    So the Klarstein I see on Amazon claims SECURE: Up to 8 gallons of brewing contents can ripen peacefully in the large stainless steel kettle. Fixed clamps hold the lid and airtight sealing ring securely on the fermentation vessel, and prevent the disturbance of the fermentation process.
    EASY TO TAP: The supplied plastic fermentation tube ensures the necessary pressure equalization. Thanks to acrylic plugs, it fits airtight in the intended lid opening. When ready, the finished beer can be tapped directly via the built-in drain tap.

      resistiendos Hi, and thanks for liking my video. When I fermenting I build a box made of foam. To keep the correct temperature I'm using a divice called st-1000 that you can order from eBay. You connect it to an owen or a fridge if you like. But you have to install it yourself though. With this beer the fermenting temperature was about 18 degrees Celsius.

    Hey there great video! I am really new to homebrewing so this might be a stupid question: Why not bottling straight from the fermentation tank?

    • @skeeno5292
      @skeeno5292 3 роки тому

      When he was putting it in the second bucket out of the fermentation vessel he had a sugar solution in the second bucket which would mix in with the beer he was putting in there. Another way would be to put your sugar in each of the bottles for carbonation in which case you could just bottle straight from the fermentation vessel

    Hi there,
    this is by far the best video review of this machine. I learned a lot from it. :)
    I have something like yours but ( 50 l Gutenbrew) I have problem adjusting it to Beersmith. My OG is always lower then it sholud be.
    Do you have any tips? And also I have notice that you are doing your mashing for 1,5 h. You have better results then when you mash for 1 h?
    Tnks upfront for your answer!!1

    • @TeddybeerBrewing
      @TeddybeerBrewing  5 років тому

      Hi, and thanks for liking my video 😉 When it comes to beersmith, I've never use it on my receipt. I only copy receipts I find on the internet. I'm not so worry myself if I don't hit the OG spot on. But most times I'm getting close. The reason that I'm mashing for 90 minutes is exactly what you're thinking. I feel that the extra 30 minutes gives a better result. Maybe it doesn't, but that's how I like to do it :)

    Hi there, great video. Do you know evaporation in one hour of boiling?
    I know there is a tun dead space of 6.5 liters, how do you proceed with calculating the mash and sparge water?

    • @TeddybeerBrewing
      @TeddybeerBrewing  6 років тому

      I normally use around 3liter per kilo of grains and then rins till I have 35 liter of worth. I have not calculate evaporation so much, but I guess around 8%/ hour.

    • @TeddybeerBrewing
      @TeddybeerBrewing  6 років тому +1

      F example you are using 6kg of grains and 21 liter of mash water (3.5l/kg of grains) When the mashing is done, 6liter of water is absorbed in the grains. So then you have about 15liters of worth. So you need 20 liter of sparge water to end UP with 35liter of worth. I like to end up with 30 liter in the fermenter. Some like to mash with under 3 liter og water per kg of grains, but i'm more happy with 3-3,5 :)

    Still a great video to get some idea’s how to do homebrewing efficiently . About cleaning the hoses and the tap of the bottle bucket you use with the plant sprayer: what kind of cleaning liquid did you exactly use ? I see you’re not afraid of letting the foam be in contact with the wort, so it has to be something natural (I would say). Please let me know, so I can do the same in a few days as I’m going to bottle my first batch of en American IPA. Greets from the Netherlands , Jeroen.

      Hi, thanks for liking my video. I was fermenting for 2 weeks but not with the jacket. You see when I'm doing the dry hopping, the keg is inside an insulated box with a heater to control the temperature. The last 2 days (day 12) if the FG is reached I transfer the keg outside in cool weather to coldcrash, and the jacket is there to keep it away from daylight ;)

    Hey ! Great process for your homebrew ! I have the same Klarstein and the grainfather cc chiller (I haven't installed it yet). I wonder about the compatibility with temperature >80°C during sterilization of the cc whiller and the pump which is not design for that... And how about the hops residue through the pump ? you've never had a pump problem? Cheers from France :)

    • @TeddybeerBrewing
      @TeddybeerBrewing  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah, my manual say not to use the pump with boiling worth. What I do is just wait for the temperature to drop some degrees before I switch it on to stearalize the worth chiller (circulate for 5mins or so). I've had no problem with this. When it comes to hops and pump, I use a hop spider to collect much of the hops, but it will not collectors all. That's why I have bought an inside filter at the size of the bottom that will collect most of the hops that escapes from the hop spider, or hop bag if that's what you use 🙂 I'm so pleased with this machine. Makes great 🍻 Cheers!

Why do you choose to let the wort flow into the bucket and not just ad the sugar in the fermentation barrel you have? Is it for the mixing of the sugar? It just seems to have more risk of contamination. Thx again
