    Hi Ted thanks for your reply back to me in relation to my query regarding transport of a bike from France to Ireland.
    I was thinking I would have to pay for both ferry journeys including the sleeping cabin for both journeys, I was surprised by your answer with a rough quote of price.
    Andrew.

    Congratulations on a super rare and special machine. I am also based in Ireland where bikes are massively over priced and terrible condition and had given up on the idea of import due to New ordeal from the Uk. May now look at France. I was hesitant from France as no MOT and dealing with dealers who don’t speak English.

      Thank you!
      I was looking in the UK too but post Brexit it's an absolute mine field so decided it wasn't worth the hassle, which is a shame as I've bought a few bikes out of the UK over the years & it was always a simple process, including collection where you'd fly over early & be back in Ireland that evening.

      Trooper Ted ya it’s a shame as I sourced several bikes from the UK too. Looking forward to the H2 updates and delighted you gave zero shits about putting 500Km on it straight away, glad she won’t be a garage queen.

      Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it!
      Documentation, I needed to sign change of ownership, an export certificate & they had a certificate of conformity (CoC) for the bike.
      They kept the export cert, I kept everything else.
      Anymore questions, just shout 👍

      @@gabrielboni1 The dealer had it all sorted for me when I got there. To be honest it's not something I thought of in advance, but if it's anything like the UK V5 it's just a section that attaches to the ownership document and needs to be filled out and sent off to the relevant body.
      If you're buying from a dealer I'd say to make them aware the bike is going to be exported and they should know what to do.

    You should nearly go back and ask them how they did manage to mess up chicken nuggets. There's an app called trainline for future reference btw, sorts everything for you in English :)
    I was smiling like a child at the little bike cutscene, can only imagine your excitement!! Motorways are a necessary evil sadly eh, I am a wee bit jealous of the weather :D
    I'd love a H2 SX myself, if I'd fit. Haha if you weren't looking back at a H2 you may be broken in fairness. Class bike lad, looked a more pleasant trip back too, well wear :)

    Hi i'm Andrew from Cork & i'm interested in buying a 2005 Yamaha WR250f in France as there's a big selection with not too much a high mileage.
    I'd like to ask you would it be cheaper for me to have the bike flown over because I only have a provisional A2 licence?

    • @TrooperTed
      @TrooperTed  2 місяці тому

      Hey Andrew, you can get it collected by a courier company and dropped to your door (I did this with my KTM a few years ago). Some companies you could get prices with are Overlanders, Ted's Trucking & Jarvis Transport. I reckon it would run you about €800 depending on where the bike is located in France.
      Flying it over would be prohibitively expensive & needs special crates, like the ones new bikes arrive in a dealers in.

    HI, beautiful bike. I am looking to get a bike from France also. Can you help with couple of questions:
    - What documents do you need from the seller when purchasing?
    - What insurance did you get to drive?
    - in your opinion, is driving through UK better or going straight from France to Ireland?

    • @TrooperTed
      @TrooperTed  6 місяців тому +1

      You need their version of our VLC & they also must fill out a form that declares the bike for export (you keep the VLC doc, they keep & post off the export doc). I think there also was a CoC (certificate of conformity) but can't remember 100%
      I added the bikes French registration to my policy with Carol Nash, no issues, they were sound to deal with
      Go straight from France to Ireland unless your idea of a good time is hours and hours and hours on motorways. Get on the boat, strap your bike down, go have a well deserved beer, wake up almost home 👍

      @@desiIrish1 I had to pay in advance before flying over, the dealer insisted, I think they were only 50% sure I wasn't a scammer 😂
