      Forgive me for being blunt, I am not concenred about how much I spend on cabs. Not to be too arrogant but the wealthy lot especially the Chinese like to show their circles that they can afford black cabs.
      Black cabs will survive all the times because the rich LOVE THEM
      You won't witness driverless cars 'mixed together" with man driven vehicles for at least another 20 years.
      In fact the only human cars permitted to drive in London will be black cabs and black cabs ONLY so quite simply they will become EVEN MORE desirable than they are already and even more of a tourist and rich man's game and this is why the drivers have good lives.

      l h this is true I’m London born and bred and Workig class I’ve used a black taxi maybe twice in my life and that was to impress women at the time, used countless phv, now I’m doing the knowledge it’s a real struggle but I’m sure there is a future for the trade just the same as harrods and selfridges is still trading whilst people are mostly going to Asda and Lidl.

      It doesn't actually transfer into different facets of life. There was a study on professional chess players which tested their ability to memorise chessboards with random pieces over the board. They were able to correctly recall all 32 pieces with just 20 seconds of memorisation time. They are also know to be able to play whole games of chess in their mind /blindfolded. To see if this ability could transfer away from chess, they had them try to memorise a string of numbers. The chess players did not get a higher score than the average human in this test.

    • @charles29cc
      @charles29cc 7 років тому +6

      J C because sat navs just don't do a good enough job in tight grid roads they get slow and "recalculate" the route that time you can't just sit in the middle of the road with people behind you, which means you have to drive blind till it catches up! Which means you could have missed the left or right you really did need to shorten the journey! Trust me I'm a delivery driver and am always updating my sat nav they just don't work fast enough! Also google maps is not 100% they don't always get one ways roads correct! Unless you have worked in a tight grid city using a sat nav you wouldn't get to see it!

Since the intro of Uber and mini cabs using GPS and phones the trade is dead. what was once a skill is now worthless in comparison and when you add to it that buying a cab is extortionate since the emissions ban its a useless trade to go into.
