YOUR STATEMENT NAILED IT WOOOW...WISH I COULD HAVE PUT MY SENTENCE LIKE THAT....ALL THIS KIDS ARE UNIQUE AND BRINGS FORTH A WHOLE LOT OF DIFFRENT KINDS OF JOY
For people saying Brandon was being mean to Tom while playing hide and seek, this is what I saw happen in this video. Brandon hid with the knowledge that Yasmin was the seeker. Instead Tom came which could give away his hiding spot (he didn’t know Tom was actually helping her seek). Brandon tried to understand why Tom was ruining his hiding but could only pick out words that sounded like “leave me alone”. Brandon was probably upset because he thought Tom was trying to make things difficult for him and Tom was probably upset for a similar reason. And I think they both recognized there was a communication issue but didn’t know how to process it at that time. There was no bad intent on either side, just kids learning how to get along with each other and they were both very sweet.
Thats what i got from it as well, i was like that with hide and seek as well, if someone didnt say they had been found already and theyre helping the seeker i would be like “yo why you giving away my spot go away“
Yep! As a parent I think you should sit both of your kids and and let them go through that emotion on why they had that reaction. It will produce much more calm and rational adults💯
I think that's why Tom really cried on the stairs when he tripped up, I think he understood that he unintentionally made Brandon cry...It was an amazing learning experience for both!
I loved it when Yasmin said to Billy " I wish I had a brother like yours " for Tom. She didn't understand what Downs Syndrome is but she didn't for once disrespect or neglect Tom . She is just 9 years old and her thoughts are so way ahead. Love You Yasmin and Thank you to the parents who raised her.
I agree, I really liked the personality Yasmin has. She is very kind, and My heart broke into tiny pieces when she said " I wish I had a brother like yours" She is very calm and makes others calm. I also really liked the part when they were going and it was the end Tom hugged Yasmin, and I felt bad when Brenden Cried 💖 I like how Billy is looking after his brother. Great brother💖💖💖💖💖
Billy is so caring and gentle with his brother. He already seems mature. Tom despite his disability respected the prayer and sat silently and with discipline.Beautiful to see he still connects with the rest.Brandon is a naive funny little boy. The tearing up part was him learning sth Oh and Yasmin bless your ambitious heart. You'll make enough money to get your parents a big home.
it kinda made me sad that she kept comparing her beautiful warm small house to the other houses. I know that she still a kid and it's fine to dream, but she kept talking about money and kept comparing.
I loved how Yasmin's family welcomed the other kids into their normal, daily routine as a family. And it was so smart of the mom to ask Tom if he wanted to write down his thoughts at the end of the play date, and then made it a group activity so that everyone was doing what Tom was doing. Such a thoughtful way of being inclusive.
“It’s just a house, it’s not for you to judge it, a house is for you to feel comfortable” - Brandon. Such a grown boy who clearly reflects a good and Godly upbringing 💖
@@liviamellinger5901 that's 100% normal and natural, since he is still a little man and he is anxious by nature, which means that he needs a little bit longer to calibrate himself and get comfortable in his own skin within the social settings. Your comment (sorry to say that) is stupid.
The red head kid is a really good example of good kid who just hasn’t been socialized with different kinds of cultures and walks of life. I hope he grows up to be very accepting
Especially the convo with his mom when he got home. He didn’t really understand but he accepted it, and his mom didn’t seem to have answers either but she pushed him to ask Yasmin to learn more about her culture. Such a good mom
You can also see that he's of a pretty anxious nature, which can make it easier to "put up walls" with others as a coping mechanism. I'm sure he's gonna grow more accepting :) he has a great mom!
He was a nervous wreck just thinking about the African food. I imaging his Mum didn't ask about the food. But it had to have been possible. They had to tell the others that Jasmine couldn't eat pork.
I love how Billy explained to Brandon that his brother loves everyone even when they aren't nice to him. Brandon then tries again on the walkie talkie to communicate with Tom. I loved it all.
What’s Muslim?” “when u celebrate the same stuff in a different way” is the most intelligent response to that question I’ve ever heard from a child ever & im like so mind blown right now
yasmin is such a sweet girl, she made everyone feel equal and included! my heart just about melted when she waited for tom to catch up on the stairs, great parenting!
Shame she got given the Trump deranged syndrome. Am sure she will go far. Her parents also are victims of the derangement but the sweetest people. As Maya Angelou said. When we know better we do better. Loved the whole thing. All the three mums and the dads.. and the kids. We are blessed to have people willing to be this vulnerable. Kudos to all. Funny that Tom was secret shoe tier😅😅😅when i worked with disabled kids for 12 yrs in UK, we challenged kids with independence and the kids with Down syndrome came up ‘Trumps’… once they were allowed to be independence there was no stopping them and yet they retained the sweet innocence and affection trait that they are blessed with🎉❤
Nigerian mum is so sweet - she deserved to work with kids more . She is so good at it. I know explaining Muslim vs Christian beliefs to a kid is not easy and choosing the right of words is a must . She did very well in that .
@@Kristinapedia kids pick up on stuff...stuff like that they just learn from convos around the house. Nobodys going around teaching theur kids politics. And trump is a shit human being.
Billy’s so discerning of attitudes. “He likes everyone even if they’re kind of unkind to him.” I like his patience of others and how he protects his brother. He’s very sweet. Shocked he’s 9 and not 29
Brandon surprised me when he said “it doesn’t matter what a house look like, you shouldn’t judge it” like wow I know many people brag abt what they have.
And then he sang the lion king song and...yikes. It's challenging his assumptions, but he also laughed at their prayers. Yikes. He's still young though I guess. Hopefully it opened his eyes a lil bit.

@fia goob i think Yasmin meant that when she gets bullied and she prays, the bullying reduces and stops, so bad things such as bullying aren’t as bad as before
I hope Yashmin learns she can have her African heritage and Muslim beliefs and still be a police officer and English. She doesn’t have to choose one or the other.
Awww meee! Would it be weird if there is a Muslim as a military medic? I want to be a nurse but there are opportunities in us national guards 😆👉👈 Im still indecisive about it....
I like how Jasmine explained to Brandon what being a Muslim is -- "When you can celebrate the same stuff but in a different way". It's so interesting how children understand complex things in a simple way.
Yes I bet we celebrate the same stuff when a stone age religion goes around chopping peoples heads off and torturing them. Kids are kids for a reason, incredibly naive for better or worse.
@@kinggooktheautistickingewg788 whats funny is i dont even know which religion you are saying chops off heads lmfao cuz both are guilty of atrocities in the name of god.
I think his mom does a great job validating his feelings but not making it a big deal either. Like okay you're having some feelings but you can feel your feelings and continue on.
Yasmin's family experience was heart melting. The whole bunch got to move like a family unit. Doing things together and feeling connected is vital for unity in community.
Yasmines mother is a great role model! She’s so compassionate and respectful. I love how she hugged her husband at the end of their play date. Such a loving family.
Yeah also dont forget about inclusion. Yasmine’s mom asked Tom what he was trying to say or something (i dont quite remember) but instead of just Tom writing, she included everyone ❤️
@@dancingbeauty4865 yeah but in the bible it says Jesus is the way the truth and the life and no one gets to the father except through him. so we dont really believe in the same God because if we did they would believe in Jesus but they dont

They're more respectful about religion compared to some adults in the comments haha.. i've seen some that spread hate and false news, and i was wondering are they even watch the video?😂😂
I was actually thinking of Matthew 18:3 comparing it to the video & the person’s comment but I like that one too ☺️ Matthew 18:3 “Truly I say to you, unless you turn around and become as young children, you will by no means enter into the Kingdom of the heavens”
I like how Brandon’s mom corrected him about “muslim toys” or “African toys”, by asking what he meant, because there are no “Catholic toys”. So if there is no such thing then the latter doesn’t exist either. Then Brandon realized that he didn’t know and agreed it was silly bc he didn’t know why he said it in the first place.
That's also me when I was a single child and my playmate was my aunt. Whenever her vacation stay with me is done and she has to go back to her house , I would silently cry . Hahhahaha
I think because Jasmine has younger siblings, she’s real patient with Tom. Brandon is the baby of his family and very sensitive. He’s probably used to being catered to.
Yes and he probably does not know how to react to him which makes him insecure (because he does not communicate the same way as a "normal" kid). I was sort of the same way towards handicapped people when I was a kid (didn't know how to react or to say the wrong thing by mistake).
Tom learned to put his shoes on himself because he watched a group of other kids doing it and his parents weren’t doing it for him. Sometimes kids just need a different environment so they can challenge themselves to grow.
Agreed, I grew up with fasd, my whole life i was only exposed to other children with disabilities due to special education, but I kept wanting to hang out with normal children because I felt I could be so much more. As soon as I went to makeup college I got exposed to normal 20 year olds, it helped me jumpstart a level of development that I hadn't the chance to experience before. Now you can't really tell that I have a disability
No he was playing his parents like they said. The mom truly didn't believe he could put his shoes on so she would do it for him and Tom knew he had it made in the shade. But then when he wanted to fit in with his peers and was probably uncomfortable with asking a woman he didn't know, he was able to put them on. This is behavior typical in the 3-4 age group
Definitely!! All the parents to these kids were amazing. They handled kids (who are strangers) with disabilities, culture shock, and slight ignorances. If only all adults were as amazing as these were.
@@ijustneedmyself i thought about that too, and its hard to say, but i actually think they would have been okay with it. as someone who grew up atheist and had to think really hard about how i answered that question in my own life, ive now realised i probably did not have to say yes as many times as i did. its just very confusing and scary to them i think. they ask that because its reassuring to know that other person believes in god, but not necisarily because they are looking to judge you if you dont, they might be scared if you dont, but after i said no to the question more and more i realized people just need a minute to adjust to the idea of that, but after talking they normally realize its not a big deal or they are fine with it in the first place. Some people are rude about it, but its normally out of fear. it really rocks their whole world and they dont want to have to think about how someone could live without believing in god. i can see how that would be scary if thats all you ever knew, especially as a kid. but if you dont force the topic normally they will leave it to and move on.
I love how Jasmeen’s mom motivated them all to tidy up together and play together at the park - loved it. Good job in general to the parents for being open-minded.
So is no one going to talk about Yasmine, and Billy.? Yasmine is literally the sweetest, she’s aware of her surroundings and taking in every neighborhood she goes to, she doesn’t see anyone of the children as different. Billy is so mature for his age, none of the parents had to talk to him more than once and he isn’t ashamed of his brother. And I love how yasmine is open minded to Toms syndrome. And although Yasmines house is not as big as the others, they did a lot of stuff and I feel personally that her house was more interesting than the others with the new traditions, languages, and foods the kids weren’t used to.
Yasmina is the cool chick in the group. Typically, girls her age, are more intuitive to the feelings of others. They should all keep having play dates. I think the mom's could become good friends as well. I liked all of them.
I'm just wondering why Yasmin's mom taught her daughter that Donald Trump is "grumpy, hateful, racist..." And then when asked if she was in charger of the country what she would do first and Yasmin says "first, I'd get a bunch of slaves!" Soooo, Yasmin's mother wants to be a slave owner while Trump wants to make America Great again.... 🤔 Wow! I guess some people know how to teach their kids morals and facts, ("you forgot the most important part!! Donald Trump is president of the United States!") And other parents teach their kids how to own slaves and call people racist and hateful if they don't like them.
@@ktrainbow9765 first of all everyone hates Donald trump it’s knows he’s racist, and she also said that he hates Muslim’s which she is. And owning slaves is apart from being rich, which she isn’t , plus she’s a kid and what she thinks about owning slaves is like where they can do daily work or house work for you while you can play all day.
It’s not true though. Christians and Muslims and most major religions actually believe very much contradictory things. Yasmine doesn’t have the best theology. It doesn’t mean they can’t love each other and co-exist respectfully.
@@mumtas4469 they have a few similarities but ultimately their differences make them completely contradictory and therefore they can’t both possibly be saying truth
@@mumtas4469 okay so even you are saying one is true and the others are not true. The Bible claims to be the Inspired word of God. This is a truth claim. The Quran claims that the Bible is changed and cannot be trusted, this is a truth claim. Both truth claims contradict each other so they can’t both be true. There are many many contradictory truth claims in Islam and Christianity so my point is this little girl isn’t right. We don’t “believe the same things in different ways” We believe completely contradictory things(Christians and Muslims) so following the laws of logic, both are wrong or one is right but both cannot be right as truth will never contradict truth. I’m a Christian so I believe the Bible, the gospel, Jesus Christ as God incarnate, and I respect Muslims and love them but I still believe Islam is a false religion because it contradicts what I believe is truth. It’s okay though, we can still live in peace and love and respect. ☺️💕
“I hate that guy. He’s a mean, grumpy racist” 30 seconds later… “If I ruled the country, the first thing I would do is get loads of slaves.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 PRICELESS!!!! But the truth is, kids are all so innocent. The majority of things they say are just them reflecting things they’ve heard or seen. But they were all precious. Even the small bits of tension, it’s really the whole point of why the parents had them do this experience in the first place…to put themselves outside of their own lives. To understand others. So other than having to excuse them for any political opinions (seeing as how most 9 year olds don’t have a firm grasp on world politics), they were all very precious, very sweet in their own ways. I enjoyed watching. Kudos to their parents for letting them be involved in these play dates.
Well slavery doesn’t have to be linked to race, like slavery within Africa for example, it was never about race, or slavery within Islam, which doesn’t really exist in practice anymore but still
Agreed. I think she was referring to servants like maids and cooks. You could tell she was surprised By the reaction Brandon gave her. Her goal in life was to become wealthy and a symbol of wealth is a course to have people working for you doing things that you don’t want to do
I think when Yasmine said “I wish I had a brother like yours”, that’s gonna stick in Billy’s head forever and in a good way. (Conversation is at 36:23)
Omg! I cried instantly when i heard her say that. What amazing children they pyt together. All so very willing to learn with open minds and hearts. Great job parents👍
I liked him too, he talked a lot about his brother, and he seems to be left in the shadows of that relationship. Might be overwhelming for a kid, maybe he is used to it but it doesn't seem a balanced situation for him.
Yes!! He’s such a good big brother, especially with both his parents being lawyers, it could be challenging being with your whole family and how he’s so loving and protective of his brother just ahhh
Billy seems so mature, used to taking care of his brother, but you can see he gets frustrated deep down. I think any kid would as you see with Brendan and Tom, but Billy’s patience is so impressive.
Im also a twin and my brother has mental disabilities. I always was there to help him to make it easier on my mom. So i put my needs aside. That mindset transfers over into adulthood. What ive learned in 30+ years is; you cant fill the cups of others if your own in empty.
I don’t think Brandon is annoying, he’s just curious and can’t help but to ask questions about everything that is different to him. I did found it funny how he gets confused between Catholicism and other Christian denominations.
Yeah, someone ought to have a talk with him about the differences. He definitely was just unaware and very curious. He had no idea Muslims even existed, and he seems to be just trying to understand. I didn't find him annoying. He at least was trying to understand things.
I really love him. It's so Funny how curious he is. I have not read any bad comments about it, I don't know why you say that. I love the questions he asks, because he asks them without an idea or position. A boyish love.
When Tom's brother said, "he is friendly, even when they are unkind to him." My heart skipped a few beats, had a lump in my throat and had something in my eye that made it water.
Brendon's emotions in the car ride home gave me so much hope for humanity, all while turning me into a warm puddle of mush. Our children are the best examples of us. Seeing their ability to grow is a lesson of it's own.
I only laughed because if he’s popular my kids must be famous. They actually hate it sometimes that everyone wants to hang with them. My youngest said, “ it’s hard when i get picked to choose teams, don’t know who to choose and don’t want anyone to be upset. It’s so hard being popular” all I could do is laugh because I’m like, “ Shoot that’s your problem, that’s why your upset” 😂😂😂
I feel terrible for yasmins mom, her daughter showing her around a massive house and her wanting to give her the same but can’t. Honestly that broke my heart.
somewhat true, but yasmins house while small, was full of love and laughter and while yes she had to share a room with her brothers and they didnt have lots of toys, you could see they played alot of games that didnt require things and I bet she will look back later on to the nights her and her brothers whispered in their beds and giggled at each other, and the close quarters will not be remembered solely as a negative but as closeness. Just my take on it.

And I never understood why. I do now but I didn't at the time. Anyway sorry for going on a tangent. Yes your right though it is sweet.
"Whats a muslim?" "When you celebrate the stuff in a different way." This touched my heart as it can be used to define every other religion but the people r always same

It can be hard in a western society I know being in America and being black I used to think a lot like Yasmine and just wanted to be like the white people around me because it seemed they had everything. But there are so many beautiful things to be proud of in our heritages
I think what she meant was that in England women can become a police officer while maybe in her culture she cannot or is looked down upon, or discouraged. But yeah, surely she’ll learn to appreciate her roots. She might not even want to be a police officer when she grows old 😆
The parents need work. They constantly talking about how life is good for the British folks at home. Its usually the guys who grow up in the rural areas who are indoctrinated in such ideas. When they get exposure, it comes up a lot in conversations, everything good or beyond ordinary person is purpoted to be for white folks. We still have a lot of people to teach, mental emansipation.
My heart felt so happy when Jasmine’s mom had everyone join in on writing it down on paper so Tom wouldn’t feel left out. My younger brother has autism so seeing that made me so happy :)
My younger brother has autism as well , almost non verbal ,and he is 19 now, and I love him so dearly..the way Yasmin's mother interacted and understood Tom was so wholesome!
These kids doesn’t come like that for free , their parents teached them to respect all the religions , their parents teached them to be kind and help , their parents teached them that if you worked hard y’all accomplish ur dreams.
Tom is such a cutie patootie, and the other kids were so kind to him. I love how Billy never dismisses him or treats him differently, he just helps along when necessary. And Yasmin is a cut above her peers just in the way she sees the world. I think being black and from an African family has already given her tons of perspective. Poor Brendan is just a huge ball of empathy, he feels everything so strongly.-- also, "I'm really full, but I'm gonna challenge myself" is a mood that I can get behind.
I have a two year old brother with Down syndrome I don’t really like kids but he’s my kid I love that kid his name is Harrison and even though I’m 12 and he’s two we have the best relationship we’re always around each other he’s very excited for Easter
Wow, I literally couldn't have said it differently, these are all my thoughts exactly, especially about Brendon being extremely empathetic and sensitive to new things. Only thing that wasn't mentioned was how mature Billy is :)
Yasmine and Billy’s conversation about his brother’s condition was the sweetest.

@@Sihle173 Nice compliment! I agree.
Tom definitely said leave him alone, he was starting to get frustrated when Brandon couldn’t understand him.
I agree
I love how Brandon says, "It's not you to judge it." and "It's about the feel of comfortable in the house"
That part was sooo sweet. Not even many adults think that way!

And it was so smart of the mom to ask Tom if he wanted to write down his thoughts at the end of the play date, and then made it a group activity so that everyone was doing what Tom was doing. Such a thoughtful way of being inclusive.

Kids don't distance themselves, it's their parents that teach them to think certain ways of people who are different. Kids are very open minded.

You'd be quite surprised that kids actually don't distance themselves, especially when inclusion is the norm. @@ekaski1 Speaking as a Canadian, who has a disability..... inclusion in the classroom isn't always the case.
