I'm guessing Ending B implies how Nichola was not fated or not allowed to live? I mean, while you play as Nathaniel and throughout Ending A, Nichola is sort of in "auto pilot mode." Nathaniel held her hand the whole time, and when he let go, she just stood in one place. I dunno, but it seems like Nichola is dead on both routes and the "puppet master" controls her like a doll.
I took it as when he cut her wires she was going brain dead, that's why he said he killed "two women" rather than one or something. I suspect when he went back in time he might've got himself killed purposely in order to spare Nichola and the Professor their death and kind of return things to status quo.
I enjoyed this a lot. The style of the game is really pretty and it did remind me a lot of madoka magica. I'd guess the guardian holding the puppet strings is kinda like their god, but I'm not sure what they're intentions are since like you said it's called "Vague Story" for a reason. xD I don't know, I have a big appreciation for rather symbolic plots that require a lot of inference, and I also never finished your Patty and Miles playthrough cuz I wanted to play the game myself but I never got to that eheh.
Has anyone checked to see if the game has any different outcome if you dont do the puzzle mode in doll mode? Because when playing as nathaniel, you see her being controlled by a puppeteer, is that present without the doll mode?
oddly the music at the end reminded me of {Servant of evil} and I guess that actually comes into how ending B felt {ie Len took Rin's place and died for Her, same as Nathaniel kinda did for Nichola" he jumped at the end after her even tho she was dead, {i noticed that lil fuckin bomb to make sure they died at the end too fuck that bitch} but even if he reach her while falling, she was gone and of corse he will die when the fall ends I loved the part where they got there "dreams" meaning they both at least got to go together{wut is death but an endless dream?}, which you can see though the game that he did all for her{even if it was wrong, even with ending A, he was willing to remember all the deaths, and killings he did toward them just so they can be happy, but at the same time is selfless and wavering, it was wrong as well as being right But i cant help feeling that Nichola wouldn't have used a door at the end of "End B" if she wasn't on doll mode, Manly didnt say if it was turned off for ending B or not so that comes into play a bit But in the end they were all just puppets, controlled by the doors and others, even tho they wanted free, they wouldn't ever get it Says at bit on humans and fate that for real life *jeez its been awhile since i commented like this, im sorry >_
forgot to say on the part of him not being a doorkeeper anymore on Ending A The reason is because Nathaniel had to give up something to go though door 7 It was 3 things {although 1 is basic for anything and frankly stupid if your trying to say unmm NOT DIE} 1 was his life {letting Nichola have a chance to use the door, but she didnt as its showed in end C} 2 give up Nichola and escape himself { he wouldn't do and frankly was the point of the game, thus why Nichola actually had to find him at the beginning} 3 Give up the use to be able to use the door& or any "door" again, witch in case be would just be with Nichola
In the beginning, Nathanial shows off like he didn't want to be a Doorkeeper, but he has no choice. I think he went to the past to make the Doorkeeper world more "loose" in giving people jobs. Like freedom in a way. So he changed the past to not be a Doorkeeper, but that's only one part of this huge puzzle of a story that I have a solid theory on.
I feel like the Professor, Ellie, and Thomas are parallel to Nichola and Nathaniel. Like Ellie and Nichola are 'dolls,' good Doorkeepers and Thomas and Nathaniel had that trait in them that couldn't make them true Doorkeepers. The letter did say Thomas talked to Nathaniel so maybe Thomas wanted to warn Nathaniel to take Nichola to avoid the same fate he and Ellie did?
I think ppl probably would say this a lot but the backgrounds do remind me of the bizarro parts of Madoka. Same with the monster that chomped without warning!
it really bring's into a question we've all had, what would you have done differently, if you could go back what would you do differntly, how would you change and for what reason would you have done so... no one can go back once something has happened, but if you could would you?
I really like these games you play! Although I know most of the things that happen the true meaning goes right over my head. I really enjoy them though! Also does anyone know the song for end b I think it was?
The one major connection I saw between this and Patty and Mr. Miles was that both of them had areas named "Kurusu Village Ruins". I believe in Patty and Miles, that's the village where the "snacks" came from. Not sure where that would put this on the timeline, however. Also agree with the sentiment that the areas inside the doors resemble the witch labyrinths in Madoka Magica a bit, as well as the character illustrations (with very soft outlines).
For real though. I didn't think of it before but now that you mention it... Except that one white room with the clocks- that reminded me more of Majora's Mask.
If you're talking about the same Shin Sekai Yori as I think, the similarities I get are that they both live in twisted worlds, and that both plots jump ahead, leaving one wondering what happened in between. (First time commenting on your vids... Don't hurt me~)
Well they're both post apocalyptic scenarios where the rest of humanity has special powers and lives in a rigid society with possible dark secrets, to say the minimum without spoiling anything that isn't in its promotional stuff.
Let us think back to P & Mr. M for a sec. What if the serum in this game is made from the stuff that made everyone in the other one so crazy? It may just have a different affect on Doorkeepers. Also, what if when they go through Door 7, End A(?) is the one that takes them into Miles's story? It ties up into one big lump, a really farfetch'd lump at that. I don't know, just trying to make sense of it all.
The bridge death in ending B kinda reminds me of the braindead miles in wheelchair and patty death on the bridge from the one saber dude. Just me? no? Hmn.
Why does my subscriptions feed not show this in "Uploads only", yet shows you adding it to a playlist in "All activity"? Has UA-cam gone Facebook? Do channels need to pay to make things visible to subscribers? Lol. I'm just joking, I hope.
Ending B reminded me almost of Multiple Personality Disorder? Nichola could have MPD (or be delusional) and so the professor is trying to change that because the male didn't like paying attention and disrespected her. The reason Nichola had to trap him at the beginning was because she was told he was a bad person. He then proceeds to explain why he is viewed as "bad" and she continues the adventure with him. (SPOILERS!!) In the end, Nichola is murdered because the instructor can no longer take it.
This is game one can sum up with 'Author try really hard to make something deep and interesting " But it's way to VAGUE to be truly anything worth time. Such boring, BORING thing. Sadly it's plagued with bad writing thus loose anything it try to convey right a way. Design wise it's still horrible as game or even just visual novel. Look of everything is also not best thing out there. Really amateurish and full of cringe worth teen angst. Hopefully author improved over time.
This is probably one of the few video games where the title describes the gameplay perfectly
True

I'm actually really curious if playing on doll mode vs not changed any of the endings for you or not manly.
Sad, yet dark and beautiful romance.
That song and the story touched my heart.
It had such a small and yet so beautiful story. Loved it.
Found the video just now.
Seriously, the shadowy things in the room looks like a bed with someone lying on it.
Thanks for saying that was a grenade, I had no idea that that was.
As for my theory, it was mostly summed up in the previous video.

When Nichola is falling in Ending B, the song kinda sounds similar to Hirari, Hirari.
It does!
It does!
I was wondering what song it was, it seemed so familiar
Wait then what is the song O.O
It reminds me of Kaze no Toori Michi
man finally i can watch this my internet was down for a whole month
I think ppl probably would say this a lot but the backgrounds do remind me of the bizarro parts of Madoka. Same with the monster that chomped without warning!
This is a pure mindfuck. I don't know what did the author think making that but this is just a mindfuck.
i don't get anything either
You should play To The Moon that's a good one
I can't quite tell, is the music starting at 14:10 El Paradiso, li,e from the ending of Alice Mare

Amazing!
does anyone know what the song is when Nichola is falling in ending B?
I keep watching the ending over and over again *sigh*

This story is vague to the point of frustration. I consider that to be a negative. : /
I really want to know the name of the song to end B. Does anyone know?
To The New World was sO GOOD

Shinsekai Yori
Such a sad.
I think.
13:55-15:00 how long IS the fall???
How......... sad.
The bridge death in ending B kinda reminds me of the braindead miles in wheelchair and patty death on the bridge from the one saber dude. Just me? no? Hmn.
Soooo,confusing !
I don't get the story O-O I tried but it's too confusing o-o
It feels like th ending felt bad ending for this game
How sad
I ship it

dssdassw It still shows "Sending out to Subscribers" or something in the Video List so it might just be taking its time.
