Most Americans have never tried spray cheese. It’s available but it’s usually only for children’s parties.

Regarding metric system there was a push to teach kids metric in grade school in the 60s and 70s and switch over. I was one of those kids and expected to be using metric. It failed because adults just threw a fit over changing. If they had just quietly double marked goods and taught kids metric it would have probably worked.
On vacations, the reason some folks don't take all their days is that corporations put a lot of pressure on salaried workers to do 60+ hour weeks and not take vacation in order to get ahead. I decided decades ago not to participate. My career has suffered but I have a life.

He fails to mention that there are also 12 Federal Holidays that most employees get a paid day off. Then there are State Holidays in individual states, that may or may not be paid.
American DO visit other countries frequently... just NOT outside of North America. We have Canada, Mexico, the smaller countries in Central America, and the Caribbean Islands.
A favorite sports team depends on the location... and the Season. A large Metro area will have Professional Baseball, Basketball, Football and Hockey teams. In some places there might be two teams in certain sports. Then there are College and University teams in the area as well.
I've read that New Zealand is the only other country that allows advertising prescription medications to the general public.
Actually, the US does use the Metric System. Because of NAFTA [the North American Free Trade Agreement], all products sold in the US, Canada and Mexico are marked in both Metric System and US Customary Measures.

As a Canadian we have some of these things exactly the same (tipping, sales taxes, football) and some are different.
In my province you can buy alcohol at 19. Vacation times often start at 2 weeks and increase by a week every 5 years. This may vary greatly though.
College sports are not that big a thing, but junior hockey sure is, where they are one level below the pros.
As for metric in the USA you will see all food pckaging marked with nutrition facts in grams, 2 liter bottles of soda and car engines also in liters, and kilos of white powdery stuff.

In some states We do have some gas stations here where the attendees will pump your gas for you like here in Pennsylvania there's one right down the road from me where you don't even have to get out of your car.

"Resevoir Dogs" is DEFINITELY worth watching! It was Quentin Tarantino's directorial debut.

It's also incredibly expensive to travel outside the US. Getting businesses to gove you 2 weeks off in a row, doesn't happen. They might let you off for 1 week at a time. Besides what would you do for two weeks? 4 days and I wanted to go back to work. WANTED. I was a nurse. Retirement is driving me nuts. But I can't physically do it anymore

I really hate these videos that call it "spray" cheese. It's not spray. If you've every had Velveeta cheese or Mac and cheese that the cheese comes in a pouch, that the same kind of cheese in the can. It's just pressurized can that "squirts". It's sooo good 😊

They can’t get Velveeta in Europe as it’s not real cheese.

Industry uses metric already. The Imperial system is British, it’s just they don’t use it anymore.

We don’t have to travel internationally because it’s a huge place. We have 50 unique states here.

In 1989, when I was 18, I could legally drink if I wanted to. I had my full driver's license (not learner's permit) at 15. Even after it was changed to 21 for drinking, I was already well out of harm's way, as I don't consume alcohol, in any case. As for driving at 15 - might have been too young. But, I'm 52 and never had a wreck.

To be fair, in SA we do call it football as well with the governing body being SAFA - SA Football Association and our affinity to watching UEFA, Premier League etc and alot of our clubs being registered as FC at the end.
Our Varsity Cup is popular (Ikeys VS Maties) and school boy rugby is also quite big - similar reasons to the Americans, we have fewer teams in the top league whereas varsities and schools are more popular, people are more connected with the schools they alumni of 😉😁 #Maties. When I lived in Paarl, home to 2 of the biggest school boy rugby teams, the derby day is HUGE town event

      @ryan_lloyd  2 місяці тому

Paarl boys and Paarl Gim is huge, you’re right. I’m also a former Matie 😉 but our games, even against Ikeys, didn’t the garner the same level of excitement as these college sports.

@@ryan_lloyd true, Monday night VC is not nearly as insanely followed as Monday night football🎉
Old Boys come in from across the country and some from abroad, the town becomes insane 😎1️⃣

I like college sports much more. The fans are a lot more passionate. Right now we’re in the middle of the college basketball tournament (March Madness). College athletes can make a lot of money now. Some of them did previously but it was against the rules. Also, I love love peanut butter and hate hate spray cheese.

If you look it up on a calendar, do you go look up the 1st day of every year to find out the day of the week it is?

Its 21 because of too many drunk drivers and too many car accidents because of drunk driving. The US is very large and we are very spread out so you need to drive most everywhere, (yes we do walk, typically in neighborhoods and parks) so the driving age I suppose is because of this.

Sports? Get serious. I am of the mind that it has s a complete waste of time and money and that Jocks need to go get a real job that actually contributed to society in a meaningful way
I also realize I am in a minority.
But kids in school need to prepare for life sports doesn't do that. All sports do it give approval to hyper aggression and leads to wars.
