Question; I already have SLI (with KAFAS2) and M sport steering wheel. If I want to add LDW & FCW, I only need vibration module for my steering wheel + wiring harnas & driver assistance control unit ?

Yes that is correct, but you also need SZL (Steering column switch) that supports Driver Assistance System (5AD) + You need to inject new FSC codes for LDW and FCW which I already showed in the video how to do it.
This is completely spot on! Although I own a F07 this video was very interesting. My car already has heated comfort seats with memory and I’m considering upgrading to ventilated one or ventilated and active. Do you know roughly how much works is needed for that?
You will need ventilated/heated seats, replace them, change your climate control unit to one with with seat ventilation buttons, code it and thats done

No problem for the headlight, I aleardy saw that you have the led one not the halogen, so its maybe more complicate to found another car for the retrofit.
For the fog and tail light I take it also ! :D
Hi. Thank you for your nice work. I want to change the headlight of my car from halogen to adaptive LED. It is F31 330D made in 2016 with driver assistance system. KAFA camera and front rader are installed. Is it possible, if I change the headlight unit and the steering column with coding to get the adaptive headlight function?

Hello, already did the same retrofit, just as You are mentioning in a video ,except, was unable to find SZL with high beam assistant. Friend helps me with coding part and he coded it before I installed updated SZL and buttons for crash and line assistant capabilities. Do You think it can be a reason why we now have errors on that?

@@robyedumor8848 Well, it is little bit complicated, because new windshield paid my insurance, KAFAS2 ECU and KAFAS2 Camera is donated to me so I can make this video possible.
So, out my pocket I paid for the new wiring harness + KAFAS2 camera cover (above the mirror) and that was 80€
+ new SZL
+ New steering wheel
+ Some random parts
But I sold my old SZL and steering wheel for the more-less same money that I paid for the new one.
So, in total out my pocket I paid around 100-150€
Camera + ECU on eBay is around 150€
SZL with all options 150-200€
Steering wheel with all options 500 - 600€
KAFAS2 retrofit can be really cheap, but also really expensive.
It depends for how much you can sell your old parts and is you windshield covered by insurance or not.

Hi. Thanks for the very interesting video. Concerning your comment to change the ISTAGUI.exe.config file, I opened my file with Notepad++ and I see no section with "Custom setting for standalone". Should I add all this section to the file or just add the specific key "disableFakeFSCreject"? I use ISTA+
I have 520d luxury line 2015 and it has kafas camera. I’ve ordered the switch panel same as yours. Will it be plug and play with some coding or I need a lot more ?

Yes, you need to add 5AC to HBA and if you have non-adaptive headlights you also need to add 5AD
(If you have adaptive headlights, then add just 5AC)

I already have FCW (Adaptive CC radar), HBA (FLA camera) + Adaptive LED, full option SZL (from BMW X3, which has LCI stalks and stalks remain in center), Full option steering wheel (with heating and vibro). Now I want to retrofit KAFAS2, just for LDW, which is a feature I absolutely hate, but I still want it 😂😭
Hi, Car already have camera for signs & auto beam, I only need collision assist not lane assist. Can i retrofit without steering wheel change? (F30 2106)
Thanks for sharing. How were you able to view the Kafas video feed during calibration with INSTA+? It looks like you used 70mai.
Hi there.
The video feed is recorded with dash cam (70mai) and later added when I was editing the video (i though it will he more interesting to have a real-time view of the calibration process)
P.S You can't see what KAFAS sees, there is no such option or such program that allows you to see KAFAS video, even tho that would be great a idea to have a live video of the KAFAS on the navigation screen for example.
What was the purpose of adding pins 9 and 11 behind the steering wheel?
And what if i have Kafas 1 from the factory. what do i need to do then?
Also have another question. Because I'm unable find a correct SZL at the moment. If I mount camera, kafas ECU and do all the need wiring, except from connecting to SZL, I will be able to program emergency collision and road sign recognition? Also if the connection will be pluged into the extras button line, there will be no faults for lane departure ?
I haven’t done it yet but I’m guessing without the right SZL which also bring steering wheel vibration, you don’t have all the necessary stuff for it so it could potentially give errors

Hi, I already have the BE and BF codes working. I added 8TH in VO and coded the HU-NBT2, DKombi and Kafas2 control units. Obviously the 7E code is not active, I see the circle with the three little glasses. To activate it with your procedure, do I have to upload all three of your codes, or is just the 7E one enough? Thank you. I forgot, I don't have ISTA installed on my PC, is it mandatory to deactivate the fake?

No option you will get without changing windshield. Windshield is specific for Kafas
Kafas2 also works as high beam assistant? because as I can see, previous camera, which goes together with rear view mirror, is remowed.
Exactly, with this retrofit now my car has High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning and Front Collision Warning.

You need the professional navigation system, for business navigator all this is not useful. Right?
It also works with business navi.

In documentation you have Upgrade FSC than Write FSC but on video I can;t see that you press Write FSC,

Hello! Really need your help. 0N64125_007E0001.fsc - this fsc doesn't work. All the others work properly. Do you have another 7E file? When I m trying to inject 7E I have: SIG_CHECK_FAILURE. Thanks for your video and help.
