My family had an 81 Sedan DeVille with the V8-6-4. It was a much better engine than it's given credit for. Much more mechanically sound than today's AFM (Active Fuel Management) with the ruined camshafts and collapsed lifters.
@@KubanKevin The 368 CI V-8-6-4 engine was actually a decent engine once you disconnected the AFM (Active Fuel Management) systems. We did a bunch of these in the mid 1990's disconnected AFM and the 368 Ci V-8 ran on all cylinders and would run decently on 93 octane premium non ethanol based fuel. The whole process to delete the AFM on these 368 CI engines was about 1 1/12 hours labor and retarding the timing.
It wasn't even on actually, the amber light you see is the water in fuel light that goes off a second after starting. The wait light is just to the right if it.
Man, these diesels were rattle boxes. They are some of the cars of my youth, and I love them.
Amazing,,it starts right away.
Absolutely stunning!!!!
it sounds like a WW1 plane engine idling
My mother had one. Gas though. Damn nice cars

The Best Cars Cadillac ever made!👌👌👌
The gas ones were fairly good unless you had the 8-6-4. These diesels were problem kings

@@kylescarfarm What was you asking for it & do you still have it?
You didn't wait for the "Wait" light to go off!

That door bell tho 😃
Why do the filler panels always fall out?
I was thinking the same thing. They must not age well and crumble.
What transmission is in it? I have the same one
