    Hi, I have a question regarding the cap. I initially applied for Biomedical Engineering, and I am thinking about going into Biochemistry or maybe even biology. Is the CNS still competitive? If it is should I ask to change my major into COLA? Also you mentioned how you sent in an updated transcript, my school does it semester 1, semester 2 blocks so I wouldn't see my updated grades until the end of the year. Could I send in a progress report to them instead? Should I call and ask? Lastly, how did you structure your appeal? You mentioned how you thanked the admissions for giving you a second chance, which I already have in my first sentence, but towards the end what did you put? (Im sorry if this is a personal question and you don't have to answer😅) But did you thank them again in the end? I hope you could get back to my questions and I apologize for flooding you with questions LOL.

      Hi! I would say you could apply for CNS undeclared and then declare your major later since that process isn't too difficult. I've heard biology is a pretty huge major and they accept more people. Regarding your transcript, if your school only gives each semester reports then I wouldn't worry about it and just submit your most recent transcript so like semester 1. For structuring your appeal, I would say besides thanking them include how you as a person have changed internally like personal growth within the time you submitted your application and the cap decision. I hope this helps!

    Hi! I was wondering, since biology is a large program (the one I applied for) and quite competitive too, and I've been thinking about appealing my major to Public Health instead since I've heard wonderful things about from a family friend and it's in the direction I would like to go in my career. I got CAP'd, and I'm not sure if it's the right move, since I'm unsure if it's less competitive as I've seen, and might it be a disadvantage for me? And do you think Public Health is a competitive major right now? Thank you! (very helpful video by the way, :))

      hi!! so my roommate is currently in public health and ur right it is a great major! i'd say that if you want you could try doing college of natural science undeclared since most of the class you take freshman year are core classes or intro classes. this might help later declaring the major you want and give you more chances! i appealed for college of liberal arts undeclared and when i got here during the first semester i declared economics!

      @@risaazim Thank you so much, that's really helpful, and if you don't mind me asking, this might be an odd question: so for my case I was cap'd as a bio major, and my second choice being biochem (I didn't have a third because I did not get into top 6%), in my appeal can I still technically appeal to switch to "undeclared college of natural sciences"?

    Hey in my case I made top 6% in our last rankings after being capped to UT. I included all the information and my updated transcript on my appeal. Do you know if I can get automatic admission still?

    • @risaazim
      @risaazim  Рік тому

      i think it definitely could help mentioning it, but i am not sure if they will guarantee you admission since it is passed the deadline.

    I applied government which may be a competitive major since UT is in the capital of Texas so do you think I should switch majors? I would like to stay in liberal arts since it will make it easy to switch to Econ major but I would even be willing to switch schools if necessary.

    • @risaazim
      @risaazim  Рік тому

      I would say moody is definitely a lot less competitive than mccombs, but advertising is also the most popular major within moody so i'd just be aware of it!

    Hey! I wanted to ask how would I submit my transcript for the appeal process. When I click it, it asks for me to upload a file. Do I get a paper copy transcript and scan it then submit it as a PDF, or would I submit it electronically how I did with my original application?

    Hi! I got capped from McCombs. If I were to appeal, would it be safer to appeal for Econ or undeclared liberal arts. And for submission of the transcript, does it have to be official?

    • @risaazim

      hi! personally, I appealed for undeclared liberal arts to be safe but it is up to you! transcript wise i'm not too sure but official ones are always better!

      Yeah liberal arts college is much much easier to get in however internal transfers at UT hard are hard and essential impossible for some majors. Transferring to McCombs, a student would need about 3.9 college gpa and stellar college extracurriculars. And even then only half of those people get in.
