I have been on the program for a few months now and I must say its hugely valuable, not just from the courses but the weekly Q&A is a great chance to learn from each other and to ask follow up questions! Theres a real sense of community and the discussion board is a great place for gaining fresh perspectives and inspiration!

is there a rendering mode in this? I've imported my model but the textures don't look realistic, it looks very pre-rendered or mind crafty... how are you getting such realistic renders? Also, I'm unable to paint, I can select it, but can't do anything. Nothing works in this thing.

is it a good idea to create 3D asset on Sketchup and impot it to Unreal Engine for making a little video game? i'm asking because it's more easy for me to use sketchup than to start learning Blender.. i'm not motivated by blender, i got traumatised by it lol.

Hi Fabrice. I've got a few questions:
    1. Can you add collision data in Sketchup, so it will be imported to Unreal?
    2. How can I add collisions to my sketchup imported mesh in Unreal Engine 4?
I'm trying to build a level using 3D meshes created in Sketchup and my character keeps falling through my floor. I've tried to add the meshes to a Blueprint and then to add collisions from the details pannel, but it just doesn't work!

Thanks for showing this. Just wondering if you are using Datasmith or TTS_UE FBX these days? Do you perhaps know when using datasmith exporter do you always export out the whole scene if you need to make a change? How do you make small tweaks if needed. In TTS you just export out you're new mesh and reimport into UE4 and copy pos. offsets. Thank you.

    • @FabriceBourrelly

Good question ! I tend to use DS at the beginning for the main architectural elements and then revert to FBX via TS_Tools for smaller items like furniture.

@@FabriceBourrelly Thanks. I'll get back to you if get some info. You always need to fix certain meshes or add new meshes. If you overwrite udatasmith scene file all is lost:-( Basicly you DS once whole scene and if you run into problems or have to add new meshes you still need TS_Tools
