I have been using my Mountainsmith pack since the late eighties. I need to upgrade for the options that you get with the new packs. Thanks for your time great review.
It seems to be a very useful and solid backpack for a weekend trips or even more then a weekend trip. price is very close to the similar and great osprey backpack.
Love this bag! So I decided on the bk 10, and my question is...can I sharpen a blade like that on any stone or does it need to have an angle on it. I believe there is a 20 degree angle on it?
Great looking pack and even better review. I was wondering if it was possible to use a luggage strap with male ends to connect to the detachable lid in order to use it like the 80. Your dad did a great job btw!
When I picked mine up at REI in Portland Or. I thought it was high. In hind sight it was underpriced. Has lasted from 1986 to 2016 and still in one piece after probably more than a hundred hikes.
Which other pack was in your top two for most comfortable backpack? Great video awesome review, and you guys answered a lot questions I had about the mountainsmith apex 60.
I notice in the last video u guys were using mountainsmith packs. I was just looking at the apex. it look like a great pack and after the review I agree. I really like the 80l with the day pack option. I'm definitely picking up the lumbar pack for edc. later on I'm going to purchase the 80l
You guys would have been great co-stars for Reese Witherspoon, and "Monster" her ginormous backpack in the movie Wild! Don't fall in any deep water, unless you are wearing a flotation device! I gave you guys a thumbs up, just because I like you, but that pack is over kill!
Nice pack! Poor little guy is likely suffering from ptsd after the filming of this video though, haha! Prepare. Subscribe. Thrive. -Corey @ PREPARED 2 THRIVE
That was a very step hill that we camped on, and threw it down it a few times. Good example of what might happen if you fell hiking or if this one fell down. Sure we didn't through it off a sky scraper or drag it for miles behind our car, but I don't know too many other reviewers that are taking this pack loaded up and tossing it of a hill top.
+gideonstactical agreed and your reviews are pretty balanced. I mention it due to nylon strength and a pack, at least in my use more likely to get snagged on tree branches and sharp rocks. So far 5.11 and hazard 4 have held up well for me in this regard. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for watching! These are very comfortable, tough, well priced packs!
great review. i liked the angled water bottle pocket and the easily adjustable harness.

Cool having your dad doing a review.
I just came onto UA-cam to start looking for a new back pack, great timing lol. Tell your dad this was a great video.
Will do thanks for watching!

Im about to purchase the apex 100l i think. For that big of a pack @ sub 200 range cant beat it. Crazy deal

Amazing gear. The Apex 80 review will be up in a few weeks.
Excellent review!
Thanks!
excellent review. i really appreciate your reviews and have bought stuff on your recommendation. Keep up the good work..
What knife was your Dad packing?
An old buck pocket knife and the HK Feint.
Ok. Time for the 80 liter pack review!
Review on that in about a month

Dayum you look old. :) Thanks for the review. I would favorably consider a Mountainsmith pack if I needed something in the 60+ range.
good thing is you only heard the word "rocking" twice in this episode.
Excellent review of the Apex. Lack of stabilization on handheld video made me nauseous watching though.
Sorry trying to find a small stabilizer I don't mind hiking up with me.
No worries. I seem to get easily nauseated as I get older. FYI, the UA-cam stabilizer works pretty good most of the time.
Nice pack! Poor little guy is likely suffering from ptsd after the filming of this video though, haha! Prepare. Subscribe. Thrive. -Corey @ PREPARED 2 THRIVE

Rolling it down a soft hill is a toughness test? C'mon man, let it get caught on some branches and rocks, real use shit.

That’s a bummer that the 60 pack doesn’t have a side strap for a messenger bag like the 80 pack that’s fucked
