I think that this is their last ditch effort to get people into the game. Unfortunately most online games Make their money from in app purchases. If they are making everything basically free, it would mean that they are paying more money to keep the servers up than what they're making and it is their Last ditch effort to get people into the game.
This doesn't look good. With Thor taking over Smite 2 as a fame designer, it's clear that HiRez has given other priorities. Paladins (and Realm Royale) team is pretty small nowadays as it is heard here and there and for me 2 are the possible scenarios: 1. They transition Evil Mojo (and old Heroic Leap) games into Unreal Engine 5 as they did with smite and they don't bother anymore about this client version or 2. They abandon Realm Royale all together and they said "You know what, it isn't profitable so why not give everything for free"? Hirez never announces internal changes so we have to let time go by until Thor eventually comes out with a new announcement.
Not really surprising that they completely abandoned the game. They pretty much did already, so it really doesn’t change anything. I guess this just means the game is now fully lost and can never be recovered, which is very unfortunate since I love this game
You know why the nexus isn’t working cause I’m on 10 crowns and wanna buy more but I have steam so I can’t buy crowns in game and the nexus isn’t working

I played after they removed the server I played on. I love this game but I can't move on until it's gone. Im not sure my sense of entitlement needs checking. I think my realm addiction needs checking
