A lot of people curious about my GTI: It's a 2022 Mk8 Autobahn Launch Edition where VW only made 700 of them in that color (Pomelo) and configuration, comes w/ a numbered plaque and letter from the President of VW of America. It's also a manual transmission, which as you know is getting phased out worldwide in many cars. During the pandemic I traded my previous 2013 GTI Autobahn with only 50K miles on it because dealers were offering so much $$$. This new 2022 Mk8 model is nice cuz it's got adaptive chassis control and sport suspension, electronic slip differential, larger infotainment display, lane assist, etc... etc... Definitely a nice upgrade from the 2013 model!
Blockbuster is a show of what the 90s and early 2000s really were, People would venture out for something as small as a movie to watch on the weekend and it would be such a fun thing to do as a child. Miss those good times!
I was thinking of doing a longer cut of these since I have 1,200 clips of footage from the trip. Maybe throw it up on Patreon as bonus footage?! We'll see...
Dude you should really start doing a lot more travel stuff. I actually noticed my wife (who doesn't like gaming content) has loved these and will actually watch them with me. Solid content!
I’ve followed you for years dude and I’m not exaggerating when I day that this is not just my favourite vlog of yours but my favourite of all time. The effort and love you put into these are clear my dude, best thing I’ve watched all year
Honestly, other than the coast to visit, avoid the whole state. I lived in Bend for two years and while beautiful, there are so many meth heads running around. You are spot on avoiding Portland. I still have a soft spot for Seattle though. Left for Texas a year ago and love it. Love me some MJR as well.
I'm a Uk viewer but i always find these videos interesting to watch (just like when i watch Abroad In Japan's videos, i really want to go to Japan at least once in my life)
My London friends always marvel at my road trips. It's hard for them to fathom how large the US is😂. Takes me about 4-5 days to get from my place to my parents by car!
Wow that would just be insanely nostalgic for me to be in that blockbuster. Blockbuster was my weekend treat for many years as a kid. Rented so many awesome PS1 games there. I miss blockbuster so much!
I think the tv on top of the dragons layer Unit was a smart idea because when it was brand new it would get a lot of people to see the amazing graphics and probably drew a lot of people to play it Just because they wanted to see how they made a game with such beautiful graphics at that time.
Thank you for capturing a picture of a dragon layer machine with the monitor on top because I remember seeing a machine just like that in a Chuck E cheese. I was with with my father as a kid and every dragon slayer I've seen since is only is the arcade machine no monitor on top of it. So I for a long time thought I'd just imagine the monotor on top and thought it was never a thing. I just had remembered it wrong. But your video of the footage proved it for me. I can't believe I can still remember that because it's from so long ago like. I'm 43 now and that's like from when I was like 7 or 8 or 9. Oh well always a video game junkie I guess To expand on that memory even more I remember when I saw that game At chuck e cheese with the monitor and my jaw literally hit the floor because of how beautiful the animated graphics were and still to this day when I played a really cartoony game on any newer system. I just remember me as a little boy seeing that dragons layer unit for the first and thinking how far we had come. To get from the kind of lackluster interactivity of dragons layer to a fully interactive video game with cartoon graphics that would rival any disney movie just still makes my jaw drop that it happen in such a short time.
As a poor working class kid growing up I wasn’t able to get many games whenever I wanted but Blockbuster was awesome cause I could finally play the games I wanted for cheaper it was awesome. I went to the Blockbuster in Bend this past summer and it was a nostalgic trip of nonstop happy memories for me. 😊
I’m a long time subscriber of the channel and have to repeat what’s already been said, these travel videos are fantastic. I’m sure the editing and filming of these is tougher than your other videos but the end result is so great for the viewer. You are an absolute natural out in public and I love that you guys are so respectful and friendly with the people you meet. Taking the time to show things like the crater and the travel and just other things beside the game stores is such a nice change of pace from most gaming focused channels. Thank you for taking the time on these videos.
Another great video! It’s cool to see that even arcades with really old school cabinets are still out there. I can’t wait to see what y’all found at the mega goodwill
I had a similar stressful experience driving on low fuel from Denver to Grand Junction CO. I left Denver with plenty of fuel for the trip as it was planned, however 1/3 of the way back the road was covered over by a mudslide. Got rerouted 4 hours out of the way.
I love Bend! Haven't visited in over 15 years despite living in Portland all this time. Makes me want to go back! What a lovely trip, thanks for sharing with us
Wow, Bend, Oregon looks amazing. I live in England and would never have known anything about this place until I watched this video. Love when you do road trips. Was laughing watching your dilemma with the gas station, I live in a small town in a small country and there's 3 within a 5 minute drive from my house 😂 Blockbuster Video gives me so much nostalgia, pure childhood memories of video shops in general. Saturday nights always felt special, going to pick a film and some treats before getting a Chinese takeaway to take home with us.
Love your travel videos you should have your own network show. I love the game videos also. Its your channel that got me into retro game collecting. Keep up the great work.
Love that track to kick off the video🤘Really enjoy your travel videos - Oregon is so beautiful and looks like you balanced out the nature sights and game hunting nicely!
Metal Jesus another great video! For someone living in Europe this is a great way to "visit" those places. Thanks again, superb contact and all the best to your family and friends.

Cool video for sure @MetalJesusRocks. I'm glad you had a fun trip to Oregon. I do miss blockbuster and Hollywood video and once streaming became the norm video rental stores and record stores and such are closing down and are becoming rare sadly. I've been to Oregon a few times and some day I do hope to visit bend and to visit the last blockbuster as well and I hope to do more traveling someday. Take care Metal Jesus and that looked like a cool trip.
Such an outstanding video 🤟 So much fun watching this crew tour around store to store as well as sightseeing along the way. Glad you all had a great time!

The MJR Crew is very special and the fact you guys get together and so many of you guys stay in touch and do videos and play games still is amazing. Never take that for granted! I have moved so many times in my life from a kid into my 30s now. The last several years had me move several times from the lockdown situation to starting a new job and moving to 3 states back to back. So essentially it's been difficult to make a consistent group of friends I can hang out with in real life but now I'm back near my home town and slowly building a group of friends to play games with again. I went to my first expo this year in Milwaukee at the Midwest Gaming Classic a few months ago. Your videos inspired me and I had an absolute blast at it. There was so much to see and do. I had always wanted to go to e3 or a video game expo since I was a kid but just never did for whatever reason. With the last few years seeing e3 shut down along with the disappearance of physical media I really want to go to as many expos as I can to support the scene and have a good excuse to spend a weekend playing games with my friends. Agreed, nothing like a blockbuster night. Most of my visits as a kid and young adult were for video games.
I discovered a lot of N64 games through Blockbuster. Great memories ^_^
Especially on Friday after school! I would be super excited about it back in the day. ❤
Mid to late 80s too. It was booming in my small town in 1985+
