I feel like it wasn’t long ago at all that this video was posted! Time really flies. I love this eBay series so decided to go back to watch the first episode again and I see that it was already 8 years since this first episode. Thank you so much for all your years of entertainment Pete!
This series is incredible. I thought I was the only one who could hunt for a game for an hour & find it entertaining. The thrill of looking for something rare is so fulfilling. I'm currently looking up all the best deals on PAL 3DS games since they're all marked up compared to the US prices. Been finding some gems.
Mac has screen recording built in. You just run Quicktime then in the file menu select "New screen recording". You can select the whole screen, a region or a window to record.
i really really wanna see more of these..and i dont mind you staying on one item figuring out if you want it or not.i love the thought process in this video pointing out and giving info..this is one of my favorite videos i've seen of your stuff just because its so informative and interesting
I am not against custom stuff, but with limited space I am very picky about what I choose to take up space. I once traded a complete copy of Panzer dragoon saga for a custom made ICO Sackboy plush, so I definitely make some exceptions.
i enjoyed the video. My Neato trick I do with acquiring some of the rare/valuable games is I nab a game thats say.... just the disc or catridge at a garage sale/flea market/variety store clearance etc. i purchase it for dirt or haggle it down. Then I patiently wait on ebay for the box/case/manual/inserts either by themselves for cheap or in some weird lot. I got the disc for Fire Emblem on wii for 5.00 at a flea market then i got the case/manual a month later on ebay...yes this method is patience
Mr. dorr i have always loved video games. Recently my drive to play them was lowered when i realized their have not been too many original titles out for the consoles i own. (pc, vita, and ps3) but after seeing your channel i invested in some older ps 1 titles that i really enjoy like RE and Syphan Filter. thank you for posting videos i watch all your stuff and it gets me looking for new titles to play :). Thanks
It's funny that you would say that. Although I'm personally indifferent on the matter, my sister just graduated from film school. Looking at many different schools, she found the common thing was they all required macs for their filming, recording, and editing processes.
Great video Pete. You gave some really good advice. You got a thumbs up from me and I really want to see more of these types of videos in the future. Also the screen recorder for Mac you're referring to I'm pretty sure is ScreenFlow. I brought it for my Mac and it really is great. It will really make things easier for you. I have been using a Mac for about 3-4 months now and it has been great.
I just bought a DS Fat and two Wii game from eBay this week. I bought The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and The Godfather: Blackhand Edition for the Wii. I traded both in to help pay for my Wii U and felt stupid for doing it, so I decided I was going to get them both since my wife was buying me an early birthday present. Then she told me to also get the DS Fat since I've been wanting one for a while. My wife just totally rocks hard!!!
Hey Pete, you can edit your feed on the Ebay home page by using the little 'My Interests' box. There's some great tips on here, you should do another one!
More of a buy it now guy as well. I've also found that the quality of items are just higher for buy it now items (which is probably why it's listed at a higher price). I do go for auctions if it's a significant discount though. Got all three Saturn Panzer Dragoons for less than $400 a year ago through auction. If i tried that for buy it now listings, it would be SIGNIFICANTLY higher than $500. The funny thing is, the quality was perfectly fine once I replaced the horribly cracked jewel cases and got the discs cleaned (harmless scratches, but a lot). I could easily sell these now great condition games in the $600 range lol. Of course, I've no plans to sell off my collection heh. Some seriously useful tips here, though, even three years later. Thanks!
at 10:12 time poor pete didnt notice a huge lot super nintendo 17 game and 2 dogbone controllers with 20 min left at 22.50$ darn that looks like one id watch .. love ya pete keep on kepin on
Awesome video!! I have just started out to buy retro consoles and games. Yesterday, I bought my first two retro consoles. There were the Sega Saturn + Sega Dreamcast on eBay. My first baby step for future retro games and consoles. I would love to see more videos like this!! Especially for new comers like me. A BIG THUMBS UP FROM ME!!!
Fantastic video Pete. It's always a joy to see a new upload from you and this one was particularly unique and interesting. I would definitely love to see more and hope you are able to make more! Thanks for letting us join in on your eBay browsing :)
Great idea for a video Pete! In Australia, Amazon is pretty much out of the question, due to the massive shipping costs. Thanks so much for putting together a guide to Ebay, as it is a service we can use too :)
I would kill to have independent game stores or thrift shops by me. I beg to differ about ebay requiring no effort. It takes a lot of time and patience to find rare/unique items at a good price (and sometimes not-so-good-price) on ebay. I have bought tons of stuff on here that I would NEVER find in the wild.
I don't alphabetize my games. Crazy I know, but I am just not obsessed with keeping an order like that. i like having to browse through my games helplessly, sometimes I find something totally different to play than I was originally looking for.
If your looking for specific games, not into buying "lots" I would recommend trying the Amazon marketplace. The marketplace beats eBay on retro game prices pretty often in my experience.
Great video man! I really appreciate your taking the time to share your tips. I never really looked at ebay much (I mostly stick to thrift shops and Craigslist) for collecting because I didn't really know how to search and use Buy It Now to my advantage and get decent deals. Thanks!
Great video, being a long time collector I already know most of these strategies but I could have definitely used something like this when I was starting. Keep it coming Pete
I've been looking and buying retro games on ebay for ages and i must say that there are some really nice search features of the website that i don't even know the existence... By example : completed listings. Thank you Pete
A series about this would be really great. Also, could you do a video about searching for specific items and/or other places besides eBay that you look to find great deals?
Pete, these are great tips for people that are not looking for anything in particular. Do you have any tips if you're looking for something in particular?
if you have an external harddrive you could record straight to it and when it comes time to edit you could just copy to your mac straight from there. probably a slightly cheaper alternative
Definitely do more Pete, really enjoyed this video. You know what would be super cool though? You streaming a genuine ebay game hunting session, and then maybe uploading the video afterwards? Would be good to be able to interact with you while you're looking through!
Great video. I do all my game hunting on eBay because I live in South Korea. I only really have access to Japanese and Korean carts. I rarely run across English retro stuff here. You gave some good tips.
I don't often leave a comment, but I really loved the video (Was actually really hoping you'd do something like this for a long while.) Please do more of these! :D
OMG i found you pete ! you are like me ! i am a game collector addict i get games from EVERYWERE ebay amazon gamestop walmart hastings EVERYWERE i am a game addict (collecting wise) and game play wise but i really whant to stop like i see a game or ( accesorie with the game ) and i go OMG I NEED THAT ! HOW DO I STOP !!!!!
ya man, the first 2 minutes of this totally remind me of myself on eBaY. iTS SOOO addicting. just "watch" will get you in trouble down the road. hahah I swear if I could upload some pictures I took of my room with almost 30 packages I got from my PO box in 1 day.... its like Xmas opening all my games haha. and that went on for like 4 days straight. getting 100's of single wrapped packages in my PO box within like 4 days.... I still buy a lot but I slow down on the purchases now lmfao
Have you used sites which snipe auctions for you Pete? I vastly prefer doing that over manually bidding. Just put in my maximum bid and it bids for me when there are 5 seconds left.
Very interesting video, a lot I didn't know. Not sure if you already know this, but when you searched "sign" and didn't want the Pokemon game showing up too, you could have used "sign -pokemon".
I found this really useful!
Me too. So when’s the donation of that hair wig?
@@COOLDUDERBALD God you're all over these videos. Stop being a weirdo.
Also, you can use search modifiers too. For instance "sign -Pokemon" won't show those Pokemon games
I feel like it wasn’t long ago at all that this video was posted! Time really flies. I love this eBay series so decided to go back to watch the first episode again and I see that it was already 8 years since this first episode. Thank you so much for all your years of entertainment Pete!
Ah good old eBay they add good changes while UA-cam does the opposite
Which is ironic since UA-cam is formed by former PayPal employees!
This series is incredible.
I thought I was the only one who could hunt for a game for an hour & find it entertaining. The thrill of looking for something rare is so fulfilling.

def wanna see more of this. These tips can be used with more than just VideoGames which is great to see
Not sure it's worthy of its own series, but as a one-off, I really enjoyed it and got some good shopping ideas from it.
i just watched a guy use ebay for 25 minutes...... i have no life
Since a lot of people seem to really enjoy this video, I am sure this will become a regular new series for me. Stay tuned!
i Like eBay Game Hunting Videos
Holy crap Pete. Great video series idea. Exactly what I'm interested in seeing from you. Keep it up man, I'm very excited to see more of this series.
When is episode 2 coming out?
Episode 2 is now up!
Episode 2 is now up!
FUCK YES! CHEERS PETE LOVE YOUR WORK :)

Sort of. I will mention it when I do episode 2.
i enjoyed the video. Do please keep doing these. Watching someone who does this, and seeing how he does it is always the best way to learn something.
I'm just here for the hair
This was so great to watch. The guy with the NSFW magazines was hilarious. 'Quite the jump in content'. PLEASE make an Episode 2!!
It's funny that you would say that. Although I'm personally indifferent on the matter, my sister just graduated from film school. Looking at many different schools, she found the common thing was they all required macs for their filming, recording, and editing processes.
Easily one of my favorite videos you have done, can't wait to see more.
A heads up: Update to Mountain Lion (10.8) it has quicktime X, it has screen recording free. 30 bucks for the OSX in the app store.
thanks, I figured there was a way to filter results like that, just never bothered to look it up :)
This series(hopefully) is right up my street would love to see more Pete!
I'm sure you've tried QuickTime's player to screen record but it works well for me.
Great video Pete. You gave some really good advice. You got a thumbs up from me and I really want to see more of these types of videos in the future.

I have never seen anyone else do this. You are very good at hunting games.
Pete has a good heart and really cares about his viewers
at 10:12 time poor pete didnt notice a huge lot super nintendo 17 game and 2 dogbone controllers with 20 min left at 22.50$ darn that looks like one id watch .. love ya pete keep on kepin on
Our school used to pre install the screen recording software on our MacBooks before we got iPads. It was a great way to post gameplay vids
I keep trying to scroll with my mouse on your eBay screen shots...
Happy 10th Anniversary
What a great new concept for this channel, really keeps things fresh. Great job Pete.
Thanks for tips on using really general search terms and how to spot the less experienced sellers who don't know the value sometimes.
Fantastic video Pete. It's always a joy to see a new upload from you and this one was particularly unique and interesting.
I would definitely love to see more and hope you are able to make more! Thanks for letting us join in on your eBay browsing :)
Thanks a lot!
Right on! I am new to retro shopping on ebay. Thanks for posting pete!
this is actually very helpful even though i don't collect games i collect vinyl
shopping on ebay tips....man way to keep people entertained and informed
Great to see you putting up more frequent videos pete. Loving the channel.
Yeah Pete this video was great! Love to see another one; the very random nature of it is very appealing to collectors like us!
I tried it and it still lags and runs slow for me, no matter what I try.
Great idea for a video Pete! In Australia, Amazon is pretty much out of the question, due to the massive shipping costs. Thanks so much for putting together a guide to Ebay, as it is a service we can use too :)
I like this alot. Honestly if you end up buying that program for your mac I would watch these every-time I see one out.
Hope to see more episodes of you looking around eBay for rare game items in the future.
I would kill to have independent game stores or thrift shops by me. I beg to differ about ebay requiring no effort. Pete, buy the 100$ mac program. Really awaiting a 3rd episode and many more to come. Great work
Great video man! I really appreciate your taking the time to share your tips. I never really looked at ebay much (I mostly stick to thrift shops and Craigslist) for collecting because I didn't really know how to search and use Buy It Now to my advantage and get decent deals. Thanks!
nigga got the old school mew2king look on point
omfg i've literally always thought that too
Great video, being a long time collector I already know most of these strategies but I could have definitely used something like this when I was starting. Keep it coming Pete
Your thought process while ebay-ing is extremely hilarious and awesome.
Keep doing more, man.
This is the age of minutiae. I'm watching a guy shop on eBay and it's riveting. Love ya Pete! I'm a subscriber and I liked.
Wow pete you showed me so much awesome stuff in that video. I love the 3d Sign from halo you showed and olly moss art is just awesome.
I always do buy it now lowest price 1st or distance nearest 1st to save on postage I can pick it up.
You are now my Gaming Guru, just got a gamecube with 5 games for £20 and Banjo Kazooie in its box for £5. thank you!
I've been looking and buying retro games on ebay for ages and i must say that there are some really nice search features of the website that i don't even know the existence... By example : completed listings.
Thank you Pete
Don't watch, add to bookmarks. Just so any other people bid low expecting JUST them to be bidding.
good advice. Watched an item earlier this week that was BIN & OBO. morning after I click to watch it the seller gets rid of the OBO option.
you cant see how many people are watching an auction ... also when you bid 15$ on a 5$ auction it sets your bid automatically to 6$...
you could try using the built in screen capturing software for osx. its in quicktime player
completed & sold listings is on the left as well, you don't need to go into advanced....
Hey Pete loved this video! One of the best I've seen in a LONGTIME. Please keep this series going!
A series about this would be really great. Also, could you do a video about searching for specific items and/or other places besides eBay that you look to find great deals?
Please do more. I browse eBay every day for this kind of stuff!
love this....and i do the same with the 2 tabs thing, but on my second one i have pricecharting up
Pete, these are great tips for people that are not looking for anything in particular. Do you have any tips if you're looking for something in particular?
Pete Screenflow you can use on mac providing you don't want to edit it in Screenflow, I use it, very good and free
The more you tell your tactics, the less you will find.
exactly. that seems like a no brainer. i can't believe he would want a hundred thousand people to see how to steal his deals.. what an ignorant move.
>implying the autistic fucks who watch these videos havent maxed out their parents cards already
***** lol, I also just stumbeled across the video in my boredom.
brrnay
Maybe he figured out he could get the roms instead for free instead of spending tons of money on plastic and paper.. basically.
***** I'm going to call the Vatican and have you thrown into the Satanic Dimension.
if you have an external harddrive you could record straight to it and when it comes time to edit you could just copy to your mac straight from there. probably a slightly cheaper alternative
Definitely do more Pete, really enjoyed this video. You know what would be super cool though? You streaming a genuine ebay game hunting session, and then maybe uploading the video afterwards? Would be good to be able to interact with you while you're looking through!

Would be fun to see you hunt games at garage sales!
thanks for the tips Pete, I knew a couple already but you've definitely helped widen my search. Top video!
Great video, I am an avid ebay user for about 2 years. I learned some tips today I almost never knew.
it really is a matter of preference. Final Cut Pro is awesome but using Adobe Premiere on PC has been getting pretty close as of late.
I seem to have many of the same habits for searching ebay items. Somehow i ended up with way to many sonic items as well.
Not very kind to Pete, but I must admit that is probably one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.
ya man, the first 2 minutes of this totally remind me of myself on eBaY. iTS SOOO addicting. just "watch" will get you in trouble down the road. hahah I swear if I could upload some pictures I took of my room with almost 30 packages I got from my PO box in 1 day.... its like Xmas opening all my games haha. and that went on for like 4 days straight. getting 100's of single wrapped packages in my PO box within like 4 days.... This video was awesome, Pete! I could watch videos like this for days and never get bored. More would be so cool.
i have been around for 10 years in E-bay, i have found this video very useful
Do more! On the hunt for games on ebay in the mind of pete....sounds good!
Could you do shopping for laptops
Lance YT Yaaaaaas queeeen!
Pete. We need some more of these!
Good vid Pete this really helped with my game searchs on the UK eBay as well. Please continue with these vids!
Great video. I would love to see the series continued Pete
This is a fantastic way to tell new collectors how it works. Thumbs up bro!
Definatley do more of these, very entertaining
Welcome back home, Pete.
Great video Pete, an original idea which was very interesting, would love to see more of this.
Very interesting video, a lot I didn't know.
Not sure if you already know this, but when you searched "sign" and didn't want the Pokemon game showing up too, you could have used "sign -pokemon".
Your video game collection is amazing..
This was really different and enjoyable. Would definitely watch more of these
