Hi! My name is Christopher Odd and I’ve been playing video games on the internet for a few years. I really enjoy a variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (Bioshock, The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us etc), strategy/roguelike games (XCOM 2 War of the Chosen, Darkest Dungeon, etc), and RPGs (Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Dragon Age, etc). -"Use growth to create a wall to block enemies"
-"Growth can also be used to immobilise an enemy, but only lasts one turn when used that way"
Episode 3:
-Odd: "man, I really wish growth could be used to make a wall or something"
-On screen prompt for growth at the time: "Duration: 3 Turns (Wall), 1 Turn (Immobilise)"

I was confused by this too but later in the video he actually mentioned dropping a growth on the ground (at least that's how I interpreted it) so I'm wondering if he meant that he wanted to wall off all sides of the witness at once.

While saying that, he actually hovers over the skill, a tooltip appears and literally says "Block a space or prevent an enemy from moving". In the previous episode there was a personal quest for the Facet, something along the lines of "plop the Growth on an empty space 5 times during a single mission", that Odd actually read aloud.
I found that using Facet's crystal to block access to one of the ladders was very effective in the demo.
5:15 I think you CAN make the Growth into a wall. The description literally says it can be used to block a space and that it lasts 3 turns as a wall

I'm torn. I really want to continue watching the series, but I don't want to spoil every mission for myself.
This mission was in the demo, so I'm good so far. :D
It would make a bunch of sense for the simulations to give XP, as a way to farm strength if you hit a difficulty wall.
My daughter is loving this series. I'll definitely be picking this up when it comes out.
In the demo I had the extra character and it was much easier so yeah if u go through the campaign mission u will prolly unlock another super and be able to go through that mission again with another super and it will be easier to get all the sp!

You know? This game reminds me a lot of chimera squad. The cutsene/melodroma goes on a bit for my tastes, but it’s been really interesting seeing you play this
So many comments, I bet the round 4 is for later to do the mission as a "sim" when your heros have more powers. Gives value to doing missions 'over' in the sim. ALso that mission had 4 slots if I remember, so when you have 4 members and doing the sim, you will do it easily I bet.
So much defense, the witnes had shield shard and would not have taken damage, killing the big dude reduces damage, frees up capes to attack others. I appreciate the defense sometimes, but it seems to be an overiding drive sometimes to detriment of the mission. Ugh. And I don't ever have to play a game for the first time with thosands of people watching, while chilling so much more brain space to look for little interactions. Thanks ffor the content and being brave to play in front of us all, Love you Odd.
Cool video, Odd. Enjoying the series so far. I think the reason that the enemies with clubs and pipes are getting extra attacks is because of the "opportunist" ability they have. You can see it when you have them highlighted or selected. It reads "automatically attacks opponents who perform actions in front of them. Does not apply if armed with a ranged weapon". Something to keep an eye out for, and its not the same as opportunity attacks when moving, I don't think. Hope that helps. :)
What a cliffhanger indeed, hahaha! I feel like the way of doing the thing in that amount of turns would have been more possible if they were 4 characteres. Maybe the trick was waiting on the optional missions untill a new hero was recruited. Anyways, many thanks for the hero action to enjoy!!! 😁

every time I want to give your grief about your tactics I'm reminded of all time times I've failed playing Legend on XCOM.
I wonder if the idea is to use Shield Shard to protect the witness while focusing on aoe damage to as many targets as possible to basically kill each group of baddies on each turn.
I think you're right, plus this mission might be meant for 4 Capes, to have extra damage output.
Loving the Capes streams, keep up the great work. Can't wait until I can get my hands on it, looks awesome.
As a comic book fan and enjoyer of super hero stories this is modern story with characters that have a golden age heart
6:53 if you move closer with mindfire you might have been able to kill the right goon with just telekinesis and put vulnerable on the left goon and with backstroke you could probably kill him

I have such a hard time getting into XCOM-style games after Midnight Suns. That combat system was just superb. Weighty and satisfying. Also challenging in just the right ways.
Hopefully they ignore the whining and make a sequel.
Something to keep an eye on is making sure your heroes are facing the enemy when they end their turn. It hasnt had much of an effect so far but opportunity attacks only trigger against somebody you are facing. Love the vids Odd

You can make Growth into a wall, it is in the tutorial. The first ability you use.
Remember you can replay missions in the simulator, so I imagine you can come back to get that 4 round objective later when you've actually got 4 people to work with to manage things for effectively.
Edit: You mentioned this at the end, but I'll leave the comment here because someone else will inevitably have the thought before getting to that point. :3
I think the take out all enemies in 4 rounds is balanced around having 4 heroes to use, which would give you more damage / options also i think the all in one bonus is if you complete all other secondary objectives in one go at the mission but you can replay the mission to get in under simulation.

I always thought that Alan was called "Beano" because he was a fan of Beano, a British comic character.
maybe compliting in 4th round is meant for later replayability. So that when you are stronger you can farm some sp that way.

Odd.... if Facets PUNCH can push enemy BACK, then that means you could have knocked some of those guys INTO THE FIRE to get that Burn damage going.
you probably need to have the 4th team member in your squad in order to finish before the 4th turn.
Perhaps you could have finished earlier by setting the barrels in front of both elevators on fire, even before the enemies show up? That would set them on fire as soon as they arrive.

Okay so theyre making references to the missions you've already done, so if you had done Facet's mission before the other, would it have changed the dialogue? And I think you could've done this before mindfire so he wouldn't even be there. This game gets more and more interesting
hehe, you could also test sp/xp simulation hypothesis off stream. Pick a quick one.
Maybe with facet's mission you only had to kill that boss guy on the map given that you only have such a short turn timer for the bonus.
I feel like on the 3rd turn you could've killed the enemy with that huge health bar with rebound and taunt the other guy with facet. Could've made the fight a lot easier and not as 'intense'. But hey, that's just my two cents.

I Don't think that witness mission is possible in 3 turns with only 3 heroes. In the demo, I did it with Weathervane in my team on top of the 3 you had. Weathervane could use lightning to blow the explosive barrels which accelerated things a lot.
Am wondering if you would have been able to teleport Beano to a different place with the teleporter? like in the first mission.

Honestly, why is the release so far away. At this rate I'll watch you play through the whole thing before it comes out.
I guess once you lvl up a little more, some optional become more viable.
This mission can be completed with all optional objectives without leveling up. It does take good tactics, and ChristopherOdd didn't quite get the tactics right.
is it possible to fix the sound? the person on the right of the screen is really hard to hear

Am I the only one that really wants to like this game, but just can't get past how cringe some of the writing is?
The writing does indeed seem not great and a bit forced with DEI but maybe it will change.
Yeah I like the gameplay and mechanics but the writing and voice acting are not very good.
Give it some time remember these are like teenagers growing into becoming not only heroes but adults. 🍻
