She's really determined not to die, and as Alphys said in one of her notes, the monsters brought back to life with determination made them seem normal at first and then they started to melt after some time. So it could be assumed that something similar is happening to Undyne as well

Most of the mods in this one are based on foreground animations so it sorta gave me more freedom over controlling certain things, such as the closing arrow circles on 1:36 And I think this one may be a bit easier to port to SM5 than Hopes and Dreams :D
Puurokulho I hope you don't mind me giving some advice, like for some reason the timing is off, maybe that's me and the video but if it's not I hope you can work on that. I really liked how you did her shielding attacks, they were brilliant, I wish they had the spears that had a different direction trying to trick you, but I understand if that was hard to make. Other than that I think this is such an amazing file to play on, especially because it's my favorite song in the game! I'll look forward to playing it!
+Bryan Gomez Advice is always welcome ^^ But yeah, I think the timing is most likely youtube being kinda sucky. The simfile should be fine because I double checked the sync and it should be alright. What I usually do is that I open up the song in audacity and cut off all the silence at the beginning in order to sync it to 0.00 seconds. Oh and when you download the file, don't be surprised if some of the sound effects sometimes play late. That's because stepmania's SOUND:PlayOnce() function sometimes creates a little latency to the sound it's supposed to play. However I think the sound drivers may play a part on that tho.

I'd suggest you to download some songpacks from here roll.divinelegy.com/#/ The search feature even lets you look up packs which have songs that have files of the difficulty level suitable for you. You can also download the mungyodance packs from the links below. This thing even has animations for the heart shattering into pieces and as I said in the reply to another comment, I had a bit more freedom over the arrows because I made most of the things foreground based. Taro's custom build of openITG has this nifty thing which lets you import notedata into lua tables, and using that saved a lot of time while designing this. I had made some step patterns I used as the basis for most of the minigames you see here. Even though that, there's no real steps running behind the minigames (except the arrow circle section), and you can see that the combo doesn't increase while the minigames are happening

I decided not to use the original sprites because stepmania's antialiasing makes them look really tacky. Also, that outfit is what she wears on the genocide run. I also used re-made sprites in hopes and dreams too. And will probably do so in other files I will make.
Tbh, I really like this one. When it gets to the mini games part orrrr something, umm, it's really easy to do. Compared to Hopes And Dreams, this one is easier to memorize. I enjoy practicing this at home! In Hopes And Dreams, I only remember the first part. This one....the attacks are easy to memorize. I really like this one and hope that there are other ones that are easy like this.
Finally got what I always wanted on this song, a 2x rate No Hit FC. Also got a 2.25x FC, but it obviously wasn’t No Hit, I had about half HP left at the end.

Yeah, pretty much. Sakuramichi is blocked with a timer, Havox has no characters, Curl shows nothing. The only thing that worked is part of WinDeu Hates You IROOT.
I just downloaded and tested the file. It was mostly fine, except on the attack parts all the arrows where white, even lift ones. You can propably guess the annoyance of not know what arrows are lifts. Love you and this file btw *smooch*
+Monobrow “Goduck” Menace Thanks for letting me know! I assume it has something to do with the arrows being flat "3D" models made in milkshape. I did this so they wouldn't look garbage when zoomed out. However I don't know how to fix this if I can't replicate it, but I'll take a look anyways.

The idea of using absolutly nothing but the attacks (and even using the glove attack as the means of "killing" undyne) is quite a nice change up. albiet maybe make it a tad longer, if at all possible. quite nice tho!
I probably won't be changing anything in this though because I already finished this in April. A lot of people said that her head should bob but I had some technical issues with animating that. I tried my best at replicaing her idle animations and stuff but it was quite hard to figure it out where the rotation points of her sprites are so I have to admit that it's not an 1:1 replication of it. I'll see if I change some things whenever I feel like porting this one to SM5. Oh and I didn't want to make this any longer because this is a rhythm game and like making it half times longer would already make it get a bit too repetitive, and there's the fact that songs only can be of a certain length or otherwise the game would count it as two rounds instead of one, and this would eat up the players credits in case someone played this on an arcade machine However I'm glad you like it anyways and I appreciate the comment ^^
Puurokulho Fair point, i dont play stepmainia as much as my friend who's an avid fan of it (My hands cramp up when playing just about any rhythm game) But as someone who has done programming and animation and the like in the past I totally get limitations and technical issues. But maybe porting it to the SM5 version may have some work arounds? Who knows, but it may be fun to play around with if you have the chance. Dunno anything about the code and engine it runs on or how SM works in that regard. Still, great piece you made here. keep up the good work.

I Just played the Stepchart and, Really I wish More undertale Charts can have that Attack Gimmick, I was seriously Confused on how the attack bar works and I was just mashing buttons When Undyne Started to throw her Spears and make the playfield skew all over the place, It was Miss Galore Once i reached the Circling Arrows Section, though I learned the Timing on my second Run, I actually got the final chance you described earlier and Managed to finish off undyne the Second time I played this... The first time, Not so Much! So? What are you Planning Next? -------------------------- SPOILER ALERT! -------------------------- "Something else will happen if you weren't strong enough but still try to take her down with the final attack." Undyne will Lob the Final Arrow Back at you and Break your soul, It will Also Jolt you back to the Course select screen (Happened to me the first time I played it)
+BrightXeno Yeah, the attack bar gimmick was a bit of an experiment which turned out to work really well. This song was a bit challenging to mod because the song itself really won't allow effects that would complement the background music so I decided to go with like 60% interactive minigames instead. And the attack bar system makes a lot of sense in this context because there's no real way to spare Undyne in this particular fight. It's either you die or she dies. And as for the next file, It'll be something Undertale related but I want to keep it under wraps because I'll be trying out some new things in it.

The sprite pack is up for download if people want to use it in their own projects or something. It's basically just a resource that doesn't do anything on its own. PEOPLE HOW ARE GOING TO DOWNLOAD THIS. open the folder and read read me it will tell you everything and second, THIS IS A MARATHON SONG, if you go to normal song playing mode it will not pop up, THIS SONG IS IN MARATHON MODE the reason that it pops up their is because the song will not end unless you will fight, it doesn't have a time set like normal songs.
omg i just got it you are using the ballerina shoes cuz you have to tap z (or step on the arrows) multiple times to atrack plus you are using your feet.
Ok, not a noob anymore, but there's a problem..... the attack arrows only appear for a split second (aka the timing bar going through the arrows) then you have to REMEMBER the arrows. P/S: really love the "crash the course file" idea.
Oh that attack bar thing sounds like a problem with your graphics card. Unfortunately I don't know how to fix it because I can't recreate the bug on my laptop D:
If you miss one of the steps during attacking, does it do less damage, meaning you have to perform an additional attack, therefore making the fight last longer?

I Just played the Stepchart and, Really I wish More undertale Charts can have that Attack Gimmick, I was seriously Confused on how the attack bar works and I was just mashing buttons When Undyne Started to throw her Spears and make the playfield skew all over the place, It was Miss Galore Once i reached the Circling Arrows Section, though I learned the Timing on my second Run, I actually got the final chance you described earlier and Managed to finish off undyne the Second time I played this... The first time, Not so Much!

Undyne will Lob the Final Arrow Back at you and Break your soul, It will Also Jolt you back to the Course select screen (Happened to me the first time I played it)
+BrightXeno Yeah, the attack bar gimmick was a bit of an experiment which turned out to work really well. This song was a bit challenging to mod because the song itself really won't allow effects that would complement the background music so I decided to go with like 60% interactive minigames instead. And the attack bar system makes a lot of sense in this context because there's no real way to spare Undyne in this particular fight. It's either you die or she dies. And as for the next file, It'll be something Undertale related but I want to keep it under wraps because I'll be trying out some new things in it.

The arrows when i attacked Undyne never appeared, they we're only black.

Did you download the sprite pack from the tumblr link?
yup
The sprite pack is up for download if people want to use it in their own projects or something. It's basically just a resource that doesn't do anything on its own. If you want to play the song in openITG, look a bit further in the description and there should be a mediafire link and you should be able to download it.
Would Stepmania be the battle system for that Dancetale AU I keep hearing about?

PEOPLE HOW ARE GOING TO DOWNLOAD THIS. open the folder and read read me it will tell you everything and second, THIS IS A MARATHON SONG, if you go to normal song playing mode it will not pop up, THIS SONG IS IN MARATHON MODE the reason that it pops up their is because the song will not end unless you will fight, it doesn't have a time set like normal songs.

omg i just got it you are using the ballerina shoes cuz you have to tap z (or step on the arrows) multiple times to atrack plus you are using your feet.
Ok, not a noob anymore, but there's a problem.....
the attack arrows only appear for a split second (aka the timing bar going through the arrows) then you have to REMEMBER the arrows.
P/S: really love the "crash the course file" idea.
Oh that attack bar thing sounds like a problem with your graphics card. Unfortunately I don't know how to fix it because I can't recreate the bug on my laptop D:

You can try that but I'm not sure if it will fix the problem. This is something that happens on some graphics cards for some reason
It fixed it... a little bit. The colours of the hit arrows is gone, but I can see it! It disabled the lift function also somehow.
By that I mean I have to tap again on the lift arrow
I think Undertale may make a good coronation game.

If you miss one of the steps during attacking, does it do less damage, meaning you have to perform an additional attack, therefore making the fight last longer?
Pretty much yeah. The aditional attack doesn't prolong the fight that much though.
