Thank you so much for this video! It fixed my surging issues, and I can idle down without killing the engine. The idle screw is difficult, but I finally got it by getting the primer hose out of the way and using an extra long screw driver with a tight fitting slot head. I’ll probably follow the instructions from your other video to clean the main jet at the end of winter as you did a great job with that video too.
Awesome, glad it helped out out. Some of the older models were a lot harder to access the pilot jet. They finally got smart and made the cover easier to remove.
I think they clog often and I might try to drill mine to the next size with a very small drill bit. Super annoying...only 1 year old, replaced the carb and worked fine for a month and clogged again.
They do clog easily, just keep in mind by drilling it larger you will be changing the carburetor tune. If you open it up just a fuzz you will be ok, if you go to much, it will run lean.
Try using Sea Foam one ounce per gallon of fuel to help keep the jets from clogging. If available in your area, use ethanol free fuel. Where I live the cost of the ethanol free fuel is about the same as E10 91 octane. I have been using Sea Foam for years with good results. If your carburetor is clogged and surging, empty your snow blower tank and use a 3 two one ratio of Sea Foam to fresh fuel into the empty tank and using the starting cord pull several times so the mixture will enter the carburetor and enter the jets where the blockage is. Let set for a day or two so the Sea Foam can dissolve the varnished areas in the carburetor. Another thing that PowerMore engines are noted for, is the tiny screen behind the fuel inlet elbow that becomes blocked. Using a pair of vise grips you can slowly twist and turn to pull the elbow out of the carburetor. Using a pick, you can pull the screen out and clean it. If the engine is not getting enough fuel, this can also cause surging to take place.
