Elephant Garlic should be ready to harvest in approximately 280-320 days. Depending on growing conditions, plants can take two years to form full size bulbs. Bulbs are ready to harvest once the plant has flowered and the flowers have dried.
It sure is! Our season here in Australia starts in Autumn and ends at summer as it gets way too hot to grow in Summer! Our winters are quite mild so that’s when we grow or brassicas! 🙂🍅🥫🌸🌽🥦🌶️
Thanks Nick! Yes I have a habit of sowing too many seeds and then squeeze them all in! Haha! I’m getting better at planning now though! Have a nice week!☺️🌸🥦🥬🫛🥒🌽🍅
Wish we were heading into spring. A UK winter is nothing to look forward to. They were great cauliflowers. Look forward to seeing how it all grows. All the best 🇬🇧.
Haha, I’m not looking forward to our Summer here after last year. It was the longest and most humid summer we’ve ever had. Hopefully you had a nice mild Winter this year! 🤞🏻I made cauliflower chowder with one of the cauliflowers last night! It was delicious! Thanks for watching! ☺️🌸🥦🫛🥬🌽
Hi Riss, so good to see you, I still say you are the prettiest gardener channel on YT, I don't eat much celery and never tried to grow it, I will be trying to grow a few new things after watching and taking advice from you, Thank you for the video. See you next time
Great harvest Larissa. I'm jealous of those caulis. Those cages of yours are a great idea. I guess my favorite thing to grow in spring would be tomatoes. Have a great week and happy gardening. Cheers
Thanks Keith! I made cauliflower chowder with one of them on the weekend and it was delicious! I find tomatoes a bit hard to grow! But if they grow well they are so worth it! You have a good week too and thanks for watching! 🙂🍅🌽🌸🥦🥒🥬🫛
Thank you so much Clare! I was quite impressed with all the celery in the end. If I had been able to leave it longer the stalks would have been much thicker but not too bad for a short length of time in the garden! 🙂🥦🫑🥬🥒🌸🪻
Another lovely calming video. Those cauliflowers look amazing. I also hate to throw anything away. I can’t even bring myself to throw seeds after my lettuce and herbs have bolted. It feels too wasteful so I spend ages saving them all. I must have thousands of lettuce seeds at the moment as I let a whole bed bolt. Look forward to the next vid 🌻🌺🌸🌞
Thankyou so much! The cauliflowers were delicious! Haha, o hear you on throwing seeds away after they bolt. I let mine drop where they are! Then I get a mass of lettuce the next year! And yes I have thousands of lettuce seeds too! They are so prolific! Thanks so much for watching! 🙂🍅🥬🌽🥦🥒🌸
It was nice to see you barefoot in Nature. The feeling of various textures of soil is not only wonderful but has a lot of health benefits. Our feet were meant /created to be bare and that's why there are a number of sensors/nerve endings under our feet which connects to our entire body from top to toe. When we walk on sand, gravel and tiny stones/ pebbles, our entire body gets a stimulation through these sensors.Apart from that it allows your body to connect with the earth and absorb free Electrons from the earth's surface.
To grow celery buy the supermarket one cut the stems and plant the bottom part. Grows amazing and only trimming the outer stems when needed and the plant will keep growing.
I'm jealous of your garden lol. Awesome harvest, we have such a short growing season here in Newfoundland, Canada I think I'm moving to your area lol. Hope you have an awesome week my friend
Haha, don’t be jealous! It gets disgustingly hot here in Summer and barely anything grows! So I am making the most of Spring right now. Probably only a month or so until the humidity and pests arrive now! Thanks for stopping by again! Hope you have an awesome week too! 🙂🌸🥬🥦🫛🍅🌽🪻

No it hasn’t flowered yet. I’ve been watching lots of videos about elephant garlic and a few did say that they need to grow scapes which I didn’t realise. They have only been in the ground for five months so maybe the dying off is lack of water. I’ll leave them until after they flower and keep watering them! Thanks for the info and confirmation about the flowering! Thanks for watching! 🙂🌸🥦🥬🫛🤣🌽🍅
Do you have to protect the Mulberries from the possums or don't they care for them? Great harvest and it won't be long before the new additions are maturing.
I’m totally surprised that the possums didn’t touch this tree as it is right near the fence! They left it alone last year too but they ate a whole through my fly screen on my raised garden bed to get to a cauliflower that was leaning up against it! 🤦🏻♀️
Always love your videos. I’m inspired to grow celery, I’ve never tried it. The tape looks interesting, what was it called? Also I’m very jealous of your mulberries, mine don’t seem to fruit I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. They were in pots but now I’ve put them in the ground I might have more luck. Thanks for sharing and have a great day! 😀
Thankyou so much! I’m glad you like my videos! I will find the name of the tape and let you know. I found it in the seeds section at Bunnings! Hopefully putting the mulberry tree in the ground will help. I’ve always been very lucky with mulberry trees and find them easy to grow! Not everything is that easy though! lol! 🌸🙂🍅🥦🥬🫑🌶️
I love your channel so much. I am just starting my journey into gardening and I am also in Brisbane. Question, did you grow your mulberry tree in a pot or grow bag?
Aww thank you! That makes me happy to hear! I planted my mulberry straight in the ground in a semi shade area against a north facing fence. I did that at another house too and both trees have thrived!!
How did you get your mulberry tree to grow so well? I have planted mine in numerous places in the garden (sun, shade, wet, dry) and it is a cranky plant (for me). Feeding tips are welcomed because I drooled seriously watching you pick your mulberries. lol - Moreton Bay You have a very sweet and well-spoken voice which is easy on the ear. I will keep watching.
Thanks for watching Lynda! My mulberry tree is behind a north facing fence and it doesn’t get a lot of sun so partial shade may be the key? It has grown so well here. The dirt that I planted it in was pretty heavy. I added some compost when I planted it two years ago and I added some rooster booster at the end of Winter this year. I have pruned this tree about three times to keep it small and I think that has helped it fruit. ☺️🌸🥦🥒🥬
@@risslittleveggiepatch Thanks for the advice. I’ll give it another go this year. I may just have the wrong variety for local growing. I have a white mulberry (no stains) but since I have no fruit there is nothing to stain my lips with. 😢😂
@@risslittleveggiepatch Just my local nursery. I think it might be too delicate for our climate. I had a similar experience with raspberries. I managed to get the wild raspberries from Indigiscapes, which thrive in our climate. I also must recommend The Seed Collection where you can buy heirloom seeds not in shop packaging for very cheap (and delivered).

Use mulch over your garden beds to keep the humidity in and much more.
