These garden covers are gorgeous! You could set up a business in making them. If you're ever in Melbourne, I'll pay you to make some for me! You've also inspired me to learn how to start making things like this. Loved this video.
Thanks so much Christie! I have thought about making them to sell as they are so good for protecting the veggies! If I ever do I’ll let you know! So glad to hear you are inspired to start making things for yourself! It’s such a sense of achievement once it’s completed! Thanks for watching! 🙂
Subtropical urban inspiration!!! You have kicked my enthusiasm back in. Had a cabbage moth massacre then 2 babies. Needless to say the garden is shabby. You’re igniting the passion again. Thank you!!!!
Yay! I’m so glad you are motivated to try again. I know what it’s like when you put in all that work to grow something only for the pests to destroy it! Just make sure you cover the cabbage so the moths don’t eat them! They are out in force at the moment! ☺️🥬🥦🌽🥔🍅
What a beautiful video of your life's journey Larissa. You and Kevin had done such a great job in creating such an organised and fantastic veggie garden. Look forward to your next video. Enjoy the fruits and veggies of your labour! Well done!!
Thanks so much Lynsey! Yes I love how the veggie garden had come along over time! And it’s good to see the transition of it. It’s lovely to eat the fruits and veg of our labour and be able to share it around with family and friends! 🙂❤️🙏🏼🥦🌽🫛😘
I just found your channel & was so excited to see someone in Brisbane (Me too 🙋🏼♀️) who understands our climate. ☀️ ⛈️ I love that you included the whole journey of moving houses & the “starting over” parts. I’ve followed & can’t wait to see more. 😊 🌱
Thanks so much for watching Alicia! I was struggling to find local gardening channels so I thought I would start my own. As most of them are American based and different to our climate! Thanks for subscribing and coming along on the journey with me! 🙂🌽🌸🫛🥦🪻
Bringing the country to the city. Brilliant. It needs passion, creativity, hard work & the pioneering spirit. The result is worthwhile & the joy that comes with it is invaluable! The satisfaction that comes with the joy is something money cannot buy. Furthermore, it keeps both of you young & be grateful & thankful both of you share the same passion.
yes I am waiting for your video on the covers. need it desperately as the possums are attacking everything that is being grown in my melbourne backyard. thanks
Just found you! I love those covers and love that you also included the price of making them as we all know, everything in aus is super expensive. Pls do a video of the covers as I would like my bf to build them. Thanks
I do but barely post on there. I’m not a huge fan of the platform but may get more active on there if I get more time! It’s the same name as this channel! ☺️
I don't know how to make square cover with net to put over my raised bed butt would love to try broccoli and cabbage. I need baby simple directions. I just love to see both of you in the garden. Great job you two!
Thanks so much! Broccoli and cabbage are pretty easy to grow in the right season. Just get some netting to cover them which is a lot easier than making the covers we made but I will be doing a video about how we made them in a month or so! Thanks so much for watching! 🙂🌽🥦🪻🫛
Thanks Steve! It took a bit of work but I enjoyed every part of it and it was all worth it in the end. Im sure there will be more garden beds added over time too! ☺
So glad l stumbled across your channel Larissa. I'm located in the Lockyer Valley and can relate to your growing trial and error's 😂 Fantastic work, your garden is beautiful 💚
I love your garden and have just subscribed to keep watching it grow. I’m on the Gold Coast so dealing with the exact same conditions as far as heat and critters. I started my garden in 2020 with just 1 bed made by using some tin found on our block and I was hooked! I now have over 30 beds, most of which have come very cheaply from gumtree and marketplace. This was a great video! All the best 😊
Thanks so much for watching and subscribing! Wow!! 30 beds in four years - that’s my dream! Haha! You must be able to grow so much food you don’t need to go to the supermarket! ☺️
Just found your channel and subscribed. I am growing fruit and veg in my backyard. I have some raised garden beds and vegepods and will be adding lots of pots. Love the shade covers on the raised garden beds. Will have a look at your other videos. 😊
It is my first time on your channel and I have just subscribed. Your home and your garden is so beautiful 😊.Thank you so much for sharing. Keep up the good work. All the best on this journey
Fantastic journal of what you have done together. The garden beds look great and I like the tops you have put on them to protect from the possums and other critters. I might have to follow your example for the tops. Is it flyscreen or insect mesh you put over your cover frames? It always makes you feel good when your homegrown veggies are thriving epecially in Spring/summer here in Victoria.
Thanks so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed it! Yes the tops have fly screen on them. It works really well. We got a 10 metre roll off eBay for $30. It’s really durable! It’s definitely a good time of year to be growing! 🙂
Hello! Love your covers, I’ve been modifying designs too. I really like your removable doors. What type of timber did you use for the covers? Thank you!
Thanks Dennis! I might have to try sweet potato too because it’s probably the only thing that will grow in the hot summer! Haha! I’m trying rockmelon this season which I’ve never grown before. I have two different varieties that have sprouted - a giant one and a mini one so I’m super excited for that! I will try to grow them vertically to save space! ☺️

Absolutely marvelous. I don't normally comment, but great work deserves to be commended.
Thanks you so much for the lovely compliment! I really appreciate it! 🙂
Everything is beautiful. I love the white it contrast. And make it brighter.
