Clones are HUGE in Derevi, not only to copy an enemy Dockside, but also to create loops with Chromatic Orrery, making infinite mana and drawing your deck (clone Derevi, sacrifice the original Derevi, activate Orrery to generate mana, use Derevi's ability to put it on the battlefield again, untap Orrery, sacrifice it again...). You can make infinite mana with many other cards this way, like Preston or delney + Bloom Tender, for example.
Nadu, Winged Wisdom from MH3 will be fantastic for Derevi. Turns Derevi into upgraded Toski, and is an outlet for the Emiel combo and Felidar Guardian / Clone combos.
Preston is involved in a few more combo lines, bloom tender on the board means if you activate Derevi with Preston down you will make 2 derevis, both targetting bloom tender, then you kill Derevi leaving the copy on the board and do this an infinite number of times (pod + derevi + bloom tender also assembles this, you can also manually cast a clone to copy and kill Derevi if you have the mana to get the loop going)
yeah saw this, very exciting to see an old beloved cedh commander winning a big tourney. i think i am going to try and turn my bant enchantress deck into something like this and play in some events, cedh is seems very wide open right now.
My derevi build was always appreciating a stasis on the list. But nowadays its that old school way of play isn't fitted to the actual meta. It's now more dedicated to taking advantage of various creatures with nice stax or combo effects and hitting with them to generate value, like draw cards to accelerate the search of the combo. All this meanwhile trying to have a responsive hand for the table
Hey Mons, whats the story with Kinnan? Is it as simple as a sudden surge in popularity has tanked its winrate? Kinnan top 16 conversion rate since the start of the site -16.94. Last 365 days - 17.60. Start of year till now - 13.31. Total conversion rate from before the start of this year - 20.58. From before karlov manor(feb 9th) - 19.52. Before Outlaws(april 19) - 17.34. Kinnans conversion rate has dropped 3.5%(20.58 to 16.94) due to his performance this year, which has been abysmal(13.31). Like, something happened around outlaws of thunder junction. 88 people have entered kinnan into tournaments since april 19th(leading to a 14.77 conversion rate), which is 16% of the total deck entries. In just a month and 10 days.
i am really curious about the winning list and the lackof wargate in the main board. I am a bit sick today so if you talked about it in the video i am sorry that i missed it. the reason that i find it weird is that it can find everything for plus three mana and put it on board. if you don't need all your mana you can even bait them thinking you are fetching something else and land a grand abolisher (though i don't think that any sane person would let a wargate for 3 or 4 resolve. you are probably losing whatever it is fetched) edit: decks like this make think that we need another card that gives haste for activated abilities that is not tyvar. mono green even? maybe it is too strong, but i believe the creature decks need such card or we have to ban bowmaster or just accept that dork decks are dead till they print enough high toughness dorks like the new one.
The combo with Preston doens't work directly as you need a non-legendary creature to flicker it after generating infinite mana and activations of Emiel.

That is a good comment.
It's the reason why i run 2 or 3 at least, they are very good with many possible combinations and for taking advantage of practically any meta

Nadu will be a fantastic commander. What an absurd card. Doesn't even draw, just puts the cards straight into your hand and the lands enter untaped.
I built nadu as its own deck and it does nuts stuff
I'd love to see more breakdowns like this. It really shows the diversity of the format.
My plan is to make more!
"Diversity" 😜

i just put together a derevi deck this morning and now this

It really is.

Alrighty then, more bits for lunchtime consumption - thanks!
what do you think about nadu, winged wisdom in future derevi decks?
Patron Wizard maybe is good?
Fanatic of Rhonas is a new mana Dork that also goes Infinite with emiel

see double is a pretty sweet counter to thoracle combo. I win instead xD
quite true!

Yes but just flicker your mana dork infinitly.
you flicker any of your mana dorks.
Will you make a video on the cedh tournament that happened in spain the 25 of may? Tre prize was a ticket to lisboa and tremnek was there
