I’m down. Stax is my favorite deck archetype. The energy of frustration that comes off of people when you play stax is addicting in and of itself.. it’s like a drug lol.
I honestly don't think it would play out the way you think it would, stax decks are built to obtain parody on stax effects that hit everyone so they likely all play similar builds and similar work arounds, things that untap or make it where you can't be forced to sac all those types of things, so it may be less stax effected than any game with only 1 stax player
I have no idea what you're talking about. Playing stax and winning by attacking with hatebears souped up by Elesh Norn is the epitome of fair, clean Magic.
It was literally relevant next turn, there would have been 3 cards in the grave when smothering tithe was cast and it couldn't have been countered by Drown in the loch.
Reminds me of a 1v1 I had with a friend, where he kept a 1 land hand, because he had a T2 Rhystic, and thought he'd be able to draw a bunch of cards... I ALSO kept a 1 land hand... because I had a Land Tax, and thought I'd be getting value... We're casual players, but that was the SLOWEST 1v1 I've ever played!
This was the first time I’ve seen Stasis in play. I never really understood why derevi had such a high salt score on EDHREC until now. Absolutely brutal. Still loved the game though!
Oh man another amazing game. Been waiting for a new game from you guys. Love it so much!!! You guys clearly love Magic and always have a laugh when playing
Listen, I'm gonna level with you guys... I fuckin' love you guys. I love chilling after a long day at work to your gameplays! Please keep up the good work!
This channel is the first cEDH channel I’ll be subscribing to. Love that you guys play lists similar to the cEDH primers. :) What do you use for your dual land proxies? Are they just printed out pieces of paper, or did you get proxies made? And a quick follow-up, about how many cards do you guys proxy for these vids?
@@seriously_leo9177 it's so satisfying to play with her. She is a wincon on her own. It's insane. I snagged a foil copy of nature's will off tcgplayer yesterday. Alarmingly low amount of foils there. Snag it while you can ;)
Was wondering why devoted stax rather than a midrange deck with an Emiel Cradle combo or some other combo? From experience, it feels like that's the bigger direction it's been taking.
2:15 the Edler does have Vigilance but I'm pretty sure he tapped it to cast the Archon that got countered so Vigilance doesn't do anything right there...
I think its interesting how the competitive mindset sometimes blocks some logical casual plays that would result in more chances of winning. Having 2 life and a flying commander that can be flshed any time would be a great risk for any casual player, so the logical conclusion would be to play Ukkima to try to grind some life. But it never happened.
I was really looking forward to hearing what Cam had to say when he says, "I learned something very important about stax. It's hard as shit..." and then then video cuts out before he finishes! What was it!?
Hey guys, just so you know Pongo has a new "birdwizard" list ever since Emiel came out, www.moxfield.com/decks/Dj12VRnJjkqd-kF-mhSY1w , being able to tap everyone else's board on their upkeep and have yours untapped is dope, who knew? :)
Why instead of discarding Swords to Plowshares and trying to destroy Stasis with REB, you didn’t just cast Swords on Faeburrow Elder? It was the guy with vigilance that let Cam untap a land each turn and pay for Stasis. If it resolved, Cam will have to eventually sac Stasis (skipping his untap step for that turn, so better than with REB). If Cam countered it with Mana Drain, you’ll still have REB in hand as a back plan.
When I play stax opponents see no hope and scoop, because I'm good at stax :P. Real talk though. Do you ever feel like rushing as a courtesy to your opponents because you're so far ahead and have an embarrassment of riches and thus open yourself up to errors? Happens to me all the time cuz I'm so good at stax lol
@@Sketchyyo looks like the one from magic online. Wasnt original frame or artwork. I have two, one beta, one unlimited. The art they showed blown up on screen was correct, but the actual card that was placed on the table hat mtgo artwork and frame. So theres no way its legit. Which doesnt necessarilly bother me. I suppose no one on the channel has claimed to or not to use proxies. But theres an awful lot of black bordered alfa/beta cards in these videos and seeing that bunk timetwister gets me thinking.
The guys have said openly that they use proxies, in one of the 3 player games at the beginning of covid Dylan talks about ordering a new printer so he can print all the proxies he wants

I play against elsha on the regular. If anyone is winning on turn 2 then the rest of the table is fucking up hard. That or the elsha player is a punk of a pubstomper.
I want to see "Who's the best Stax commander in cEDH?" just because a 12 hour unedited video sounds fun
That would make me so happy lmao
You my friends are special types of monsters.

"I'm free!" the only valid response when dying to stax
To be fair, it is also the answer to when playing stax and the win con doesn't come. XD
I call myself a punching bag if I become a free target, due to manascrew, early targeting, or stax
"We ALL kept shitty hands."- My play group. Every game. Great vid my Bois!
Playing stax without a way to immediately end the game,
is just about the most painful thing to play against.
I have no idea what you're talking about. Playing stax and winning by attacking with hatebears souped up by Elesh Norn is the epitome of fair, clean Magic.
I play stax because the salt of the tears of my enemies are particularly delightful. Their misery sustains me.
@@tylerhiginbotham8177 LOL
The Winds of Rebuke wouldn't have resolved and milled everyone. Eternal Scourge self-exiles when targeted. Could have been relevant.

This is genuinely my favorite channel on UA-cam.
As a storm player in modern and kess in edh the ending pleases me.
This was the first time I’ve seen Stasis in play. I never really understood why derevi had such a high salt score on EDHREC until now. Absolutely brutal. Still loved the game though!
The spinning top was so fitting lol
Yeah that was great :D
The spinning top
Eternal scourge exiles on target and therefore fizzles Winds of Rebuke
I was really rooting for derevi to win with staxy creatures.

Derevi Stax makes my heart sing.
Listen, I'm gonna level with you guys... I fuckin' love you guys. I love chilling after a long day at work to your gameplays! Please keep up the good work!
The vigilance on faeburrow elder is very relevant! You can use Derevi's trigger to tap other players' lands and still use it for mana post combat
I believe in Ukkima. One day it will show off how awesome it is.
Good vid guys.
ah yes elvish evolution
Hey guys just wondering site you use for your proxy's?
I use mpcautofill.com to automatically get the images and make a mpc (make playing cards) order.

We print out a LOT of proxies
Nice video, I really like it ! What's your opinion of Sea Gate Stormcaller inclusion in the Inalla deck ?
You guys should do who is the best stax commander in cEDH. It would be hell.
Your work as a channel is great, congratulations!!! I'm not a patreon, but who knows, some time!!! 😆
That was cool maybe one of the longest cedh games I’ve ever seen
My personal favorite cEDH commander, that happens to be 3 colors, is Tasigur
Best 3c commander for sure :)
People who enjoy playing tasigur scare me
Tasigur is not a cedh commander anymore and hasnt been for awhile. Way too slow and not strong enough of a creature
Tim D Bowery I mean I feel like if a deck is on the database, the deck is probably good enough lol
@@averyclark866 it's not unviable. It's just strictly worse than tymna thrasios and if you want to be on it you're better off playing tymna thrasios.
Could you guys come up with some themed najeela tokens?!?
I would also like this!! Najeela makes my pp feel funny.
Jeff M Honestly same I just won 5/8 games with her feeling sooo good

Jeff M Shes super crazy and my pod tried complaining but I was like lmao I just won through combat figure it out
The other day just built a Derevi stax deck, damn is it addictive to play! xD
Turn 2 derevi - untap noble / attack for 1 / use trigger to untap noble / tap noble to cast fyndhorn elves?
This game was a SLOG, but super satisfying to watch! Great vid as always!
I felt so torn because I have three of these decks built so I didn’t know who to root for 😂
Why pay 1 for Signet on Turn 13 (min 11:43)? Shouldn't Cloud Key and Helm of Awakening reduce it to 0?
Cameron had a Grand Arbiter out which caused all of his opponent's spells to cost 1 additional mana so the signet costed 1 mana.
Nice proxy volcanic island
Why does no one counter the goddam underworld breach
Why would they? It's a perfectly fair and balanced magic card with no broken interactions at all (:

8:28 didnt those two just come into play that turn?
Nice one. But also be great to see an overlay.

3 missed rhystic triggers before notion hit board. Think Cam forgot that rhystic triggers on all spells and not only non creature.
God I love Elsha. She can win real fast. But is resilient as hell.
You missed paying the extra for grand arbiter all game haha.
Sylvan Library is not a may trigger. The Notion Thief steals the 2 additional draws and you have to pay 4 to even draw 1 card
Are you sure
**Correction** And this is why we read the cards... I am wrong
I don't think people were paying for the GAAIV additional cost.
3:17 Winds of rebuke shouldn't have mill because it gets countered since scourge gets exile as soon it gets targeted

What the music they use
Epidemic sound
