  • TODAY WAS BUSY!!!!
37 lambs when I finally counted at the end of the day. Carissa was such a HUGE help as she kept up with bottle feeding, then training lambs on the milk machine.
Two sets of quads who are doing great too!
And a little lamb who came around after a rough start this morning.
    SO MANY SWEET SURPRISES!!

I have one of those old girls too! She had her last lamb last year at age 13. The lamb was not a good one so she is not going to have any more but we will let the ewe (Beatrice) live out her life here at the ranch. She has earned that and we have the space. She is a sweetheart too.

that makes me happy that you will be letting her live out her life there with yo. I actually just asked Sandi what she' s going to do with her old mama now that she's had last baby. I know she doesn't have room to keep all of the ones she loves :(. I wish I had a place I would take them all and then she could come visit whenever she wanted to LOL

I follow... like I said before. I would make a retirement home... in summer outside grazing grass and in winter a pen of their own. But I am a sentimental person. I wouldn't be able to do what Sandi does. I would cry the whole time. First of happiness and later because I have to let them go... so yes I say, please... let the mom enjoy her baby untill she rejected it herself. And when she goes on the trailer, please don't say it.. thank you...

I grew up with cows on the farm, Wanted to save a old cow, granddad said sure, But at the end your taking care of it. One day in the driving Texas rain trying to dig a hole to bury her, on a backhoe without a roof, taught me my lesson. Farming requires tough decisions. Sandy is compassionate as they come, but you do what’s right for the farm.

That's why the practice of farming is inherently cruel, even if the farmers treat their herds and/or flocks well. To sugarcoat it to make it seem that farmers care about the real welfare of these animals and not their bottom line is what I fascinating because by virtue of the practice, they can't. It's a business. These animals are a commodity and therefore treated as such.

With that comment its clear to others that you haven't worked a day in your life, if that's how you view the word "business". Stop living in this messed up fantasy where animals on farms are treated cruelly. Is that how you get off?? Becuase you people really seem to like that idea and its sickening.

@@lillyess385 we also treat plants the same way although there is proof that there is no brain required for conciousness and also that plants react to pain and fear responses. Do you champion plant rights as well? Do you eat live plants in salads or cook plants that are alive? Were your plants killed humanely if they were killed first? The reality is that we do not create our own energy and get it from other sources as per our genetic evolution (we aren't photosynthetic). She cares for her animals and treats them with dignity. They do the best to get a good harvest, plants or animals. If you don't like these practices then don't watch these videos. Spend the time instead maybe volunteering at a vet's office, or with horses, etc. Whatever makes you happy. Spend your energy on positive outcomes if this is not positive for you.

If the lamb is a ram it will be shipped. If the lamb is a ewe she will go through the same evaluation process as the others ewe lambs before a decision is made whether to keep the lamb for breeding or not.

So funny. I watch with subtitles on and so many times it says "Applause". That was when the animals are noisy but you are silent!

I've been watching for quite a few lambing seasons, and I think this is the most lambing pens I've seen at one time. I don't envy you. Makes me tired just watching it all. lol

Wow are you busy, thank God for Carissa to lend a hand.is she going into farming also? Remember folks that Sandi raises lambs for a business , so sometimes the ewes have to leave. If she kept every ewe and lamb we, the fans, fall in love with....she’d had thousands. She did just sell Rusty recently instead of shipping him out. No matter how long a sheep stays with Sandi, it’s having it’s best life.❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍

The little ones jumping are so stinking cute!! They remind me of Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer during the reindeer games on the show. Have you ever heard one yell, “She thinks I’m cuuuute,” and jump in the air?

I don’t know about anyone else, I watch your video clips and I smile all the way through them,(with the excepting of maybe a bit of concern or the occasional anxious moment) I learn so much, your smile fills me with joy and I seem to become so calm I don’t need my sleep medications. I’d live in that tiny little cabin inside the sheep shed, with my two wee poodles, and help pout wherever I could. It is pretty close to my bliss

I'm just curious, what are Carissa's plans?? Is she in school? Will she stay working with you? Should she ever leave, you should have her replacement trained by Carissa for a month....lol, hope that would be enough time for Carissa to teach her all of the secrets to what Carissa does!!!

We just sent one of our ewes to market. Blue was 10 years old. We hated to get rid of her, but we bought 4 ewe lambs and a ram to add to our flock. Now we have 20. That should keep our grandson Wyatt busy come lambing season. Lol.
