I've always said that it's not a new gen though, It's just the best way to refer to it as one due to the fact that there's no real other word that I could come up with, but I guess current would be a better word.
finally someone spittin facts, in the modern media age ain't no way ppl waitin 30 years to label something "New Gen" for shows n comics, the 5 yr cutoff is definitely a solid marker from New Gen shifting into Current Gen and 10yrs being the hallmark for Old Gen manga/anime
Even after this video people are going to keep on calling mha new gen and i'm not gonna act like i don't call it new gen either but i agree with that it is are part of the current gen. Its usually up to the fans to decide what makes a anime a new gen or what is considered the big 3 or the "new big 3"
I blame nostalgia for people calling 9-10 years shit new gen. People think old just means the 90s, 80s, or anything from their childhood is considered old gen. Anything from the 2010s is new gen to people. Even when it comes to the WWE. Wrestlers like John Cena and Randy Orton are still consider new to some people, despite both wrestlers being in the WWE since the early 2000s lol. Because the oldest Wrestlers they know are the Rock or Stone Cold.
What is the name of the wikipedia page you cited that has anime generations going by intervals of every 4-5 years? I tried to look it up and I cant find it
I always think of "new gen" as manga that came out after 2018 . So this includes series like JJK , Hell's paradise, Summer time rendering and excludes series like Demon slayer or Black clover . And calling MHA "new gen" in 2023 is like calling Naruto "new gen" in 2008.
@@AlexSciChannel because the manga came out 7 years ago , making it older than Chainsaw man or Eden Zero. To be "new gen" , you must be a series that is at the maximum 5 year old .
@madmouse4400 I disagree with the criteria of it being 5 years old because then it's only reliant on a time requirement based on the present date. When that's not how generations work. Generations traditionally are counted as hard spans of time with a start and end date. If you're simply going by 5 years old from the present that means the catalog of "new gen" would change every month.
@@AlexSciChannel I also use 5 years from now (2018-2023) because it's also the time when the current landscape of weekly shonen jump was formed ; with Chainsaw man , JJK , Mashle and Undead unlock becoming recognizable franchises of the magazine. Very few series managed to become mainstays in the last 2 years and it will take time for the survivors to get more following , so for me it's makes total sense. And with JJK ending this year and Undead following not long after ; I consider the next gen to be starting in 2024.
Honestly I never really thought of it like this. But after watching this video I completely agree and understand. Also I respect how your probably one of the few UA-camrs that actually give MHA the respect it deserves. Series is so overhated. W take.
MHA is one of my favorite series of all time. Gotta give it its props. But yeah man, I understand why it’s called a “New Gen” but in reality, it’s not new and it’s a mainstay
@@JetTheProphet I agree with the commentor, Jet. You're awesome, most of the UA-camrs I've seen have done nothing but complain on how rushed the final arc is. While I do agree with them on some level and that some events could've been fleshed out better, it's nice to know that people like you don't hate it. BTW, what do you think of the final war arc?
Thank you, I really appreciate it. But yeah it’s been rushed but overall, I’ve enjoyed the final arc. It has a lot of great moments and it feels like a chaotic war. What’s been your favorite moment
@JetTheProphet I have three favourite moments. First is Kyoka standing up to AFO and inspiring the vestiges in his quirk to rebel against him. Second, Tokoyami going all Kaiju against Prime AFO (pretty sure at this point he can take on Bakugo now despite the Quirk disadvantage). And three, Ochaco's Quirk awakening affecting the whole battlefield without needing to touch anything. Those are my favourite moments, what about yours? If there's anything you wish to change or add in the final arc, what would it be?
Solid moment but for me 1. Shoto vs Dabi 2. Bakugo’s death 3. Endeavor killing AFO 4. Deku arriving. I’ve really wanted to make a top 10 moments video but I’m holding off on it rn.
I can see why you say MHA is not a new gen anime because the series has been around since it began in July 2014, and the series is in it's final arc. But for me, it is new gen but I absolutely respect your opinion.
Hey dude there's 2 Videos of MHA you should make and upload. 1 should be Best MHA Ships, since you already made a video of Worst MHA Ships you should make a video about Best MHA Ships. And the 2nd Video should be Why MHA should get the Respect they deserve or Anime Fans should stop talking smack about MHA. Cuz they're still Anime Fans that don't like MHA all cuz of the Fandom or cuz they still think Deku is a Crystal even though he hasn't cry since Season 2 and he is a Total Bad-Ass

True but my logic makes sense since MHA isn’t new anymore
Wouldn’t that be said with demon slayer and mashle to be considered new gen ?no there not cause they ended now

Yeah it’s been around to long to be considered new gen

Why exclude Demon Slayer from the "New Gen"? I fail to see how it coming out in the summer should distinguish it.

Sakamoto days ,blue box ,witch watch are new to me that’s new generation for shonen jump that’s how I put it
Exactly. MHA is 6 anime seasons deep. That’s not new anymore
So that means Edens Zero is a New Gen, for now though. Cuz the Manga came out in 2018
Yes it is
@JetTheProphet Awesome I Love that Anime. Heck I Love it more than Fairy Tail
I love both but I would say EZ > FT
@JetTheProphet I Love both too, just since I finished watching Fairy Tail, and I'm reading the Manga of Edens Zero and is Awesome
i respectfully disagree but i understand and respect your opinion
