This game is charming, no two ways about it. It's bright, colorful, the music is fantastic, the locations are great, the characters are wonderful... Really, the only thing to dislike is the insane zenny costs for upgrades. Go play it. Seriously. Fun fact! During the boat defense mission, grenades will sink into the water, but landmines won't! And if you bothered upgrading them, they're deceptively good at killing the small fries. It's probably an oversight, since who in their right minds would be crazy enough to bring landmines to a water fight, but it works.
@@Lrr_Of_Omikron yeah, this game was made before standard 3d action adventure shooter thing contrls were established on console. I guess they were sort of trying to do a variation on tank controls, since that was the safest option. The controls in the sequel were much better, by then they figured you can use both analogues on the ps1 controller.
@@nikodem123asdf I nvr played the sequel. I've had a few people tell me they improved allot that was bad in this one. I'm hoping Name plans on playing and uploading the sequel to go along with this one.
I remember when my mother gave me this game in my birthday for my N64. I never passed the first stage, I didn't know what the hell to do cause I didn't understand English back then hahaha. Regretfully, I no longer own that cartridge. This video made me want to try to beat it.
I love how there is so much voiceover work in this game. I always found it so lazy when video games would have an awesome intro and then you have to read 99% of the games dialogue
@@longplayarchive There is cause I’d played it back in the day but was hoping for a 3rd but the company cancelled it & fans were outraged. There is a prequel call misadventures of Tron Broone but that game was not bad.
This game has a karma system... Sort of. If you shoot down the DNN blimp during the city hall defense, you get a boat load of bad karma. Same goes for stealing the money during the robbery sidequest. This leads to his color pallette turning dark. Where this gets weird is the can recycling you can do in the shopping area. You receive a bit of negative karma each time you do that, despite them plugging recycling, so it should be good...? Anyway, this has no effect outside of appearance, and just playing the game(story events and destroying reaverbots) rewards a ton of positive karma, so it's also hard to make it stick. Legends 2 ties actual mechanics and reactions to this.
@@name3200 In the PSX version MegaMan gains power boosts the darker he gets. Enemies are easier to beat when going dark. More noticeable during the first encounter against the Bonnes.
Sometimes hard to tell but I think it plays fine for me. A lot of the background audio seems low but voices like 1:29:35 seem fine. Edit: it does seem a little quieter than other videos. I can imagine some people with certain speakers struggling
@@longplayarchive it's the same for me. the opening Bonne cutscene sounds fine but everything else seems quiet. the birds chirping sound effect seems fine too.
@@nikodem123asdf Yeah, it seems like a problem with the game. It does seem a bit too quiet though. I don't think you really have to redo it, but that's for you guys to decide.
Normally we would not include the japanese one but seeing as it was released on PSP under that title, and that version didn't have a western release we had to add Rockman DASH. I know it looks stupid.

Tron and Roll were my first video game crushes. I loved this game so much as a kid. Masterpiece imo

Get it on an emulator, high res gameplay possible with state saves 😊
that's me playing A Link to the Past back in the day, couldn't get to the castle undergrounds because I couldn't understand any English
One of the best channel ever on UA-cam ! Thanks !
Shoutouts for stealing the bank robbery money, especially since you didn't need it. That got me laughing.

Of the 3 it was Mega Man 64 I played I enjoyed every bit of it. Not often you see Mega Man helmetless.
That ship must be super fast. They were 100 miles away and got to it in less than a minute
I used to have this game on my original play station but I was so young I didn't know wtf to do

Love this game!!
Love that game!!
i never played this, and...a quick glance though...i actually think there are too many cut scenes for the amount of gameplay.
Holy Shit! Remember this game. Probably my 2nd RPG game I’ve played. Any chance you’ll do legends 2?
Didn't know there's a second.. maybe :O

What happened to the colouration, Megaman got darker

Awesome!!
is it just me or is the audio really quiet? I have my volume turned way up and I even have it boosted but I can still barely hear it

@@princessCashel Yeah it may be a bit quiet. Tho this game overall had very weird soundmixing for voices like most japanese productions at the time.
