@David Brown Agreed, I think the writers were just starting to realize some of his potential, and his arc had only begun. Like slaughtering Icheb in a flashback, it's a total waste in a series that's partially about deconstructing the Borg way of life.
@David Brown Yea man, like if you are gonna do it, have there be some compelling reason. It was just some random dart throw and then all of that characters back story and what it could have meant are just tossed in the bin? Strange.
Agreed. Can you imagine if they made a much smaller show, just about Ex Borg? It could have been about Picard's final reckoning with the Borg, with Seven and Hugh as main cast members. Maybe include Icheb and add new characters as well. The show we got was so disappointing and unfocused. It just got worse as it went on.
I've converted 3 people into Trekkies (so far) by playing "I, Borg" for them. It is impossible not to fall in love with Hugh. Great character. Great actor.
John did such a amazing job. I love that we all got to go through the Journey with hue 🤓🖖 I loved that I got to grow up with Star Trek and now that I have teenagers I could share it with them!!!! 👍👍👍
It was strange hearing hugh in Picard without the Borg effect on his voice. I guess the subvocal processor got removed with the other implants. Then again, Picard's stopped working before the implants were taken out, so it's anyone's guess. Really glad they brought Hugh back, and I hope they can put him in something else. Maybe something explaining how he ended up serving as the director of the Borg Reclamation Project and had his implants removed, how he met Seven of Nine, etc.
Bring back Hugh! Handwave it with Borg tech saved him! He was one of the best parts! His scene with Picard was really sweet and xBs are such a fascinating concept
Hi Jonathan, many of us fans enjoyed your character Hugh. I think the character was interesting and became complexed part of the encounter with the Borg. Wonderful to hear your Experience as the character BE WELL IN MIND AND SOUL
I can honestly say Hugh is up there with my favourite tv characters of all time, and after coming across this video I can see why the performance was as good as it is/was (depends on your point of view) the Borg honestly terrify me more then cybermen and seeing hugh acting as a go between, on top of Picards transition from human to borg and back just makes it 100% more interesting and pulls you in Can not stress how much I love this 3 time character (as far as I’ve counted we only get Hugh 3 times…. And that is criminal 😅) They honestly missed a trick with not bringing him back towards the end and maybe having him as the only “ borg “ to help star fleet….. But alas the work that was done with the limited on screen time dosnt really matter when a performance is so memorable Love ya Hugh ya magnificent toaster 🖖
So so sad that we got so little time with him. I kept hoping at the end of season 2 that.... ah well. But, hey, scifi stuff. It could still happen, right? Right?!
Trekkie calling Picard phenomenal.🤔 I am happy for you and hope I could be there with you. 🧐 Quess you don't much care for the lore or continuity.🤗 Sorry, I don't mean that as an insult, I am just puzzled, what did you like about the show? For me the few high notes were mainly nostalgia.
Sorry, that the Character was killed off. However, Star Trek Picard is poorly written and has awful character development. Star Trek Discovery and Picard is not like real Star Trek from 1966 to 2005. Discovery and Picard needs cancelled as soon as possible. ViacomCBS you won’t get any of my money until you get rid of Secret Hideout and bring in proper science fiction writers.
Star Trek Picard so much bigger production and still worst Trek produced. Quess the production size does affect the quality of the writing. Maybe season 2 is better. These latest Treks have forgotten what it was about. The ideals are faded, the hope has become dystopia, diplomacy take a back stage, just set phasers to kill and blast away all that Trek was and remodel it to be run of the mill dystopian action adventure. You could write an action show, adventure show anything in a Trek universe, but the writing seems to lack the knowledge to do so, it morphs Star Trek from trek to any Sci-Fi, while breaking any and everything previously set up.
Lmao disabled the comments cuz "diversity" most of the comments were about the costume inaccuracy and the nonexistence of Earth religion in the star trek universe. Derhh Hollywood gang muh diversity...
Hugh will come back, he didn't die, he was seriously injured by Narissa, but the USS Enterprise-G doctor, Doctor Bidley Stoni will put him back into an animated state to restructure his Borg cells, to heal the wound and heal as well.
Mistake to kill off such an interesting and valuable character

Well they can't kill Geordi off...
...I really need to stop reading comments before watching the whole series

Fantastic actor and a fantastic character!
Orgullosos de nuestro compatriota uruguayo en cada rol que actúa! Felicitaciones!!!!

You've assimilated 3 people, nice work Borg.
I'm so so so so so sorry what they did to you Hugh. You deserved better
Jonathan Del Arco was the most star trek in Picard.
John did such a amazing job. I love that we all got to go through the Journey with hue 🤓🖖 I loved that I got to grow up with Star Trek and now that I have teenagers I could share it with them!!!! 👍👍👍

Star Trek: Hugh,
or maybe Star Trek: I am Hugh.

Hugh was a fantastic character! So well written.
Jonathan seems like a sweetheart. Hugh certain was.

I was pissed when Hugh got killed. When Seven threw that Zhat Vash b**** over the edge I pumped my fist and yelled 'YES!'
I adore this man so much!
These are too DAMN SHORT!
I love that character
An amazing human being.
I, Borg - one of the best episodes of TNG. And FU ST:P BIG TIME!!!! for desecrating that too!
Good job! It was sad to see the character die! But, how many tv characters get a return engagement years later!😎
Please bring him back in season 2 please please please please please please

Klutzman killed off this beloved character for no reason at all. Maybe he did it to piss off the fans. I think he hates the fandom
He's a human trainwreck, how does Hollywood keep giving him work when everyone hates the shit he does?
Borg regeneration will fix him up in no time.
I think you're right!
Sorry Hugh they went and Alien3'd you. You deserved so much better.
#BringBackHugh

Great ✨👍
I had to rewind half a dozen time's to be sure I wasn't dreaming. Season 1 was phenomenal. Thanks for participating from this grateful trekky
@John Smith THIS

“Hugh, you’re the one…you really make things happen…” -Ronald McDonald
ST:P wasted Hugh.
In every interview and public appearance, Del Arco rolls up his sleeves on his short sleeve shirts. Why?
fashion
Jesus! Picard lost all the chances it had to be awesome and it wasn´t even difficult but they managed to murder it.
Edward scissor hands!
I was so disappointed that Hugh was killed off. Better that seven of nine had bitten the dust, now that we know that she prefers to eat Kitty. 😨
So they bring Hugh back? but not worf?
They should have brought Lal back, Data's first daughter.

Why not create your own franchise?
Thanks for having a hand in killing Trek, Hugh. Shouldn't have let them do that to ya.
Star Trek, do you really have to kill all male characters from previous movies?
Disgusting.
