Almost every top comment is from a verified UA-cam channel agreeing with what you’re saying. It’s no coincidence, you perfectly put into words what a lot of UA-camrs go through. This is definitely going to be a favorite video of mine for a while.
Papa poods gives a good real-talk about once a month, i think.. kind of hard to say with pew news existing now, since Poppy Harlow is always speaking that wisdom👌
Man my heart goes out to the guy, he's really pouring out his experience and not just what could happen, and it's very real and authentic. Even though it's youtube we all feel extremely deeply about our lives not matter what we're doing the emotions and struggles feels just as hard and real. I really appreciate this kind of honesty it normalizes the person in success as much as someone in failure, no matter where you are the emotion and struggle can be the same.
As an "youtuber" who kind of gave up on this hobby of mine because of no views, this video really cheared me up. The "If people don't watch them then you at least have fun making them" actually got to me. Thank you Pewds for the message.
With content like this i just really feel like felic is like the big brother of all the other youtubers, so down to earth and just honest about everything
This is the reason why he is the top of UA-cam. He can see through the superficial parts of it and just enjoy the community of people who really get and enjoy his content.
He made a good point about people watching new channels and bingeing all their content, it gets boring after a while of keeping up with their uploads and you’d just stop really watching… I think after a few years coming back to channels like these are amazing, because you just kinda rotate it through your schedule and through tens of other channels and it’s not as boring because you have a widespread interest between tons of channels rather than just being addicted to one of them😂
This is exactly how most all of us youtubers feel. Very well put into perspective for most people that find it hard to understand why we all have our own respective struggles.
Chris Ramsay hey! Didn't know you watched Pewds, then again who doesn't? I just wanted to let ya know you truly inspired my passion for magic, you've showed me the virtues of what it means to give credit when credit is due. Love your content man.
You can really hear his passion the way he talks about these type of things. For now, I think Felix is the only one that really deserves this position. I can't imagine UA-cam being lead by trash youtubers like paul brothers. VERY PROUD OF BECOMING A 9 YEAR OLD AND HAVING FELIX AS ONE OF MY INSPIRATIONS..
I feel like the Paul brothers are losing influence for good, but I'm not sure, Logan's on a downward spiral ever since the suicide forest video. Regardless I'm proud to be a member of the nine year old army!!
I’m glad you’ve been holding strong and are continuing to make videos! I look forward to your videos every day. I’m still watching all the same youtubers that I’ve been watching since 2009 (plus some new ones!)
To be honest, you are the most appropriate person to be the face of UA-cam. Compared your personality to others, you seem the most deserving to be the king of UA-cam
The biggest challenge in anything is to stick to your values when temptation lures you towards growth and so-called success. Make sure that what you do, whether it is on UA-cam or in any other endeavor, is in line with your values. All the best to you, reader!
I started doing YT about 6 months ago, and about 3 weeks ago the YT algo picked up my videos, and at the peak I had 40,000 views in a day. It gave me such a good feeling that people were watching and liking my videos. However... 3 weeks later the YT algo slowed down, and my views went to as low as 1,000 in a day. I remember when I FIRST started YT a 1,000 views would be great. But now anything under that 40,000 makes me feel bad. Felix is right, this platform is really addicting especially if it's your full time job (obviously it's not mine I have 18k subs) But I already see patterns emerge. cool to the see the King talk some real stuff.
Atharva Ashish Kherde but he doesn't edit those videos anymore and he also has to contain his swearing. The reason i watched his gaming videos is because i wanted to be introduced to good a good franchise and he delivers it well. But now it's just memes.
Pewds is an imense inspiration. I watched him grow on youtube and I agree that numbers don't really matter at the end of the day. What matters is how you feel and how you make people feel. I guess I'm one of those youtubers who "never made it" because after 9 years of hard work, I'm still considered a small channel. Does that mean I'll stop making videos? Of course not! I have 800+ people that believe in me and also that indescribable feeling of getting a video done. I couldn't stop making videos even if I wanted to lmao. All I gotta say is a huge thank you to Poods for inspiring me for so many years and spreading such a truthfull message to this comunity. If you're a small youtuber, or a struggling content creator, I feel you and hope for a brighter future for all of us.
Since I've changed my content to something I truly care I stopped caring about my numbers. It is like a curse just fallen of from my shoulders. It isn't even a grind anymore :D - I'm sure Pewds points to exactly that! :)
I think your audience is the most understanding in this part. You have been here for such a long time that we know what you can or can’t do. But no matter what, we will always support you
Cool video. The most successful UA-camr in the world speaks about his own personal experiences and gives advice (and a few valuable life lessons) to others. It shows he still cares about this platform and especially the thousands of young creators who are desperate to "make it" in a difficult, demanding, stressful and extremely competitive environment.
i think sometimes the content just needs to change, adapt with the time and trends. but the creator should always be themselves, thank you for this video! and to anyone reading this, keep going and you will achieve your goals!
I never really liked your old stuff. But the past year and half I related to you more and more. Glad someone with your status in audience is saying what many of us have been thinking. Please stay happy and find joy. You are a great person.
Damn I’m so glad Felix finally has a level of balance between his fans and his personal life. It broke my heart to see him frustrated and sad when him and Marzia went on vacation and he tried to vlog for us each day and when his fans were not satisfied anymore. I’m glad we can let him have personal breaks for a weeks or a few days from UA-cam. It really is a mental situation when everything is falling apart. And I’m glad we can still support you Felix
4:05 is an example of mimetic desire. People liking or disliking something not because they genuinely like or dislike it, BUT because others like or dislike it. Learning about the concept at the moment, and now I see it everywhere.
I didn't jump onto the whole PewDiePie train when you were first becoming popular - I was a little late to the game. But I can never see myself getting tired of your content.
this is honestly one of my favorite videos right now and I'm boutta replay it 5 times so that his message can really stick with me. I've started noticing that i've been heavily over looking the numbers recently to validate my content and even myself even though I originally loved what I create which is extremely unhealthy for me so i'm gonna try, even though it's hard, to take a step back from all the stats and analytics for a bit and just make content because thats what I love doing right now.
My channel has a very small niche (small engine repair) so I came to the realization long ago that my channel will never have millions of views, but you can't let that discourage you! As a creator, I took inspiration directly from you Felix, do what makes *you* happy... It couldn't be more true! Don't try to please everyone, just make content that you want to make, and focus on quality content. I was demonetized for about 4 months (when UA-cam introduced the 1000 sub minimum) and I literally had like 989 subs the day I got demonetized lol But I didn't let that *demoralize* me, I kept at it, posting new videos every week, and here I am, finally got remonetized in June and I'm just grateful to be able to make some money doing something that I love. You've been a huge inspiration to me, been watching you grow over the years, how you've matured, and how your channel (and content) has matured along side you. I've seen 1st hand how you've handled the stress and situations you've faced. Keep at it man, you've got a great heart! And cheers from Ontario Canada!
As much as Felix jokes around he speaks such truth sometimes! I love how he recognizes the struggle and brings it to light, it’s easy to watch a video and not think anything of it. It’s sad how younger successful UA-camrs don’t realize how lucky they are not to work a real job in their life or even go through the struggle of getting a degree, but at the same time the ppl that you wanted to be just like live, breath, and eat making content. So it goes to show you it’s not always what it seems online ppl show you their best selves when inside they might be suffering. Truly listen to him, DON’T START A CHANNEL FOR THE MONEY OR TO BE “FAMOUS.” Trust me you’ll just drive yourself crazy I’ve seen it so many times ppl think it’s gonna happen for them and it doesn’t and they quit. Enjoy the little things never forget why you wanted to start a channel and why you love it so much. I hate to see ppl go through this and not realize it early on, the true winners are the ones who are happy with themselves and their content. No matter how many hits from the numbers you taken. #smallUA-camrsunite
Max Warner yes real job as in not working 9-5 for anyone else. Never said UA-cam wasn’t a good job bc it’s awesome if you’re able to achieve being able to live off it, but let’s be honest it’s more of a “dream job” rather than a normal achievable real job for many ppl.
I wish more people would watch this video. Appreciate you opening up about these things Pewds. Of course, you already know this kind of honesty is why your true fans tune in.
I feel like felix is like those series that we grew up with and we never get tired of watching. I've been watching since your early amnesia days. Yes, there was a time that I stopped watching but I came back when I saw how real and engaged you've started being with your audience. Your vibe makes people feel close to you because you are down to earth and realistic. Keep doing you man.
I’m new to your channel. I have two teen kids that always talked about it. I started watching because they were forcing me to. Not in a Clockwork Orange kinda forcing with duct tape and toothpicks in my eyes, but because they thought it was funny. After watching some of the videos I realized it’s a channel with great content. You can see an evolution of how you’ve changed over the years but people like your content because you come across as very genuine. I’m 47, and started a dopey channel around my Jeep. It’s an awesome feeling getting a fan base and even some sponsors, and earning a few bucks a month for doing something you like is a huge bonus. My point is, as you grow and your content adapts, you’ll continue to gain more subs of all ages no matter how long you stay on here. As long as you enjoy doing it just keep at it. Again, just an opinion from a middle aged guy that enjoys rye content you create. *Salutes* -Ron
I think the reason why I liked pewd's channel for so long is because you can actually feel that there's honesty even behind his persona, and the fact that he can come out and discuss how he feels about things in ways that sometimes deviate from his usual vid formats has a lot of sincerity. You can tell that he's remained true to himself, or at least became more true to himself over the years by choosing to do things that would benefit himself rather than blindly pleasing fans which I think really improved the channel. Like with stopping with video games, it was annoying at first, but look at how it liberated and opened up his channel to different ideas! The willingness to change is what I think made him such a lasting star on the platform and deserving to be on top.
I agree with your first statement. I see lots a videos of youtubers talking about depression and that making content doesn't bring happiness the way they thought it would, like Anthony Padilla and sounding like they are trying to manipulate their audience. Making you think "So the lamborghini and the mansion and huge increase on the bank account brought you depression?" Pewds does a better job on explaining these issues without sounding like he just wants people to feel bad for him and give him more views. Also everything he said really is true. If you don't stick to the meta which is making videos about trends like fidget spinners and cutting food with a hot knife or youtube drama, you let the numbers manipulate your mind and lose motivation and force yourself to make videos you don't like and even start hating your own channel.
tack för detta felix. Håller själv på med research för en ny gamingkanal jag startar i dagarna. Väldigt informativ video! Uppskattar dig och ditt arbete! Hälsningar från Frölunda!
Very glad this video was recommended to me. I feel like new gaming channels are hard to gain a following because of saturation. There's so many gaming channels on YT its difficult not to get buried. The top channels are still kicking ass, but newer channels struggle to gain ground.
Thanks for making this ... I think once we have an audience there is a feeling of obligation to keep delivering content, and if it's normally daily content, for me anyway that can take it's toll creatively and time wise .
NPT Music I'd just make sure to spread your time properly and try to take 1 or 2 days off everyweek and have some vacations if possible as well (at least 1 every year).
Great video Pewds! Totally relate to everything you've mentioned. Personally, we lost half our views 2 months ago because UA-cam decided to delete half of our content under false claims. This stunted our growth and we literally almost went crazy! UA-cam is indeed a futile game.
youtube has changed a lot like the bell thing that suddenly has an option for 'sometimes' instead of just 'always' it sucks knowing your content is not to blame but its happening anyway. :(
I really needed to hear this because I've been taking a bunch of month-long or so breaks in the past 2 or 3 years since I've created content on my channel. I'm a small UA-camr, been that way for idk how many years now. I used to not care about the numbers until recent years, but I'm so glad I found this vid. Especially since it's Pewdiepie! I used to watch him all the time, and then I watched others who he had played with and still has played with to this day. It's a full circle because honestly, I need to watch Pewdiepie again because he is one of my first top 3 UA-camrs that I first watched when I opened UA-cam. Much love to Pewdiepie and his advice(s)!!!
Thanks for the positivity Felix! Honestly, as a channel that is based more on quality over quantity, surviving on youtube is hard, yet people only see the nice side of things, I understand the struggle. Thanks for speaking out for all of us.
Dem, 334 likes but no comments! (And yes, it's sometimes hard going with the quality > quantity route, but it's totally worth it. Keep it up, you are doing awesomely!)
Really true when you said do something I enjoy as if it didn't work out on UA-cam, at least I enjoyed the process. I'm always a believer of that, and thanks for confirming it
This is probably the realest perspective on UA-cam I've seen. That's why I never force myself to make videos I don't want to. In the end, it should really be about what you enjoy doing. I'm over the hyper active stages of UA-cam. Loving the more "real content." Thanks for making this videos Felix.
This is why he's at the top because he makes videos like this, he sheds light on not just his personal problems but the problems of YTubers and the platform itself.
In all honesty this was a really refreshing video from Felix and felt so much more real than a lot of the stuff I’ve seen on this platform as of late. Leaving this lower so people don’t think I’m promoting my channel but I 100% agree with everything you said about it feeling like a numbers game. I’ve only had my channel for a couple of months and started it because I’m truly so, so passionate about making videos but I feel like just a few weeks into making them it was so easy to look at the numbers and always want more. As you said, it’s harder to make content nowadays with how many people are doing this UA-cam thing and I couldn’t agree with it more- in working, going to school, and trying to make videos I feel like if I slip up a little bit in a week I automatically see my numbers drop and it’s really discouraging :/ this video made me feel a lot less alone and I’m really grateful that you opened up to us about it.. thank you Felix 🙌🏽
I remember subscribing in 2012, losing interest in your repetitive and uninteresting coockiecutter content gradually from 2013 to 2014 and unsubbing at the end. Rediscovered you again in 2016 when you were transitioning your content and I couldn't be more happy with your stuff right now.
This is random but in my 5th grade class we had to do a project over someone famous like about why we chose this person and what we would do if we got to meet them and what not. Well my friend (rhylee) chose pewdiepie and no one else in my class knew who he was but she said if she met him in real life she would want to play happy wheels with him😂 well when I got home I went online and searched happy wheels and then some of pewd’s videos popped up so I started binge watching them and then came my addiction. I’ve been watching pewdiepie videos for five years now thank you rhylee
This is why Pewdiepie remains one of the best UA-camrs to date. He uses his platform to speak the truth, he remains genuine, and he still manages to entertain and make people laugh on a daily basis. Respect.
Felix is a genuine guy. contrary to popular belief, i see him as a person who has lived the life, and is only trying to help people who follow the same dream. If anyone knows its this guy, its this man here. He even levels with himself and what is expected of him. ( is truthful in what his saying of the relations of others, as well as the relationship with his audience. At this point what is there to hide.)
i love him for this (no homo). he stayed truthful to himself and his audience. Tho he has changed a lot (for the better), I can see that he also never changed from his early days of youtube. It's the strong reason why he's still at the top
I remember when I watched u as kid and laughed when you played scary games and your screamings and etc, but now you are that person who is funny, honest, knows how the world works and how dumb it became. Brofist, you forgot that
That's what happens when you realize your cringe asf, but now hes cool to watch i am a older lad i dont like people screaming or yelling shit like that.
Same. Honestly he seems wise because of it. Its wierd but the very thing we consider comedy, memes, manage to teach people a lesson in life no amount of instagram quotes or celebrities could teach you. It cant be expressable in just words though. But finally understanding that material possessions are stupid and happiness is gained from actual movement and actions. Also you learn that criticism or "hate" becomes something likeable. Because its usually people who care who want to change you for the better. It makes you more honest aswell. Before you would reveal your laziness, or stupidity as just plain comedy, but you gradually express it more openly. And because of that, people trust you more for revealing who you really are
level 3 gay memes are the truth. Lol I just random clicked on you and saw that "Thot" video, that's the youtube I remember and want to see and not unbox shit and other reaction videos. Gj made me laugh
I remember watching you years ago and always loving your energy. That's what drew me to you. You made me and my brother laugh and I still appreciate your content!
And this is why you are at the top. And also why you are one of the only people I still watch after 8 years of being on youtube. You don't flaunt your wealth. You dont brag or show off. You aren't on the hunt for the next drama, or looking for big content you can make views which results in boring 30 minute clickbaity videos, you dont scream into the camera or shake the camera wildly with 10 million jumpcuts, there aren't any weird effects or loud distracting sounds - sometimes your videos are just you talking your mind, like here, or reviewing memes. You do this because you ENJOY making content. And we as an audience can clearly feel that. When you came out saying that you put up a persona back in the days, showing people a fake happy face, i was literally jumping in my seat saying "finally!!" I personally always felt that there was something off, and yes, i even unsubscribed at one point, because you were one of those "many jumpy-loud-over-the-top-non-genuine" people. UA-cam content has become tiring, and I personally cant watch any of the Pauls, or Ricegums or whatever they are called - but i keep coming back to you, because you are such a down to earth and genuine guy. And I respect that. A lot. Keep doing you, you will see, the children watching all the loud obnoxious fake people will grow bored of it and seek for more genuinity. I think that is the true key to youtube, or any social media really. Just be yourself, the boring, normal you, talk nothing but the truth into the world and you will be rewarded with an audience, that respects you for who you are. You got at least one of them, right here. Have a great day. :)
Sir, every point you make here is legitimate. And everything you say is right, but unfortunately kids these days like flashy, jumpy, adrenaline and dopamine rushing videos. This is what society is turning into, and there are much less people that value genuinity, and virtue.
Yousif Nouman in a world where everything is broadcasted to the world via internet i can understand why kids are into flashy loud things. I was too, when I was 12. But it was through consuming tv or playing videogames. Now that I approach my 30s I start to feel an interest in politics and long discussion podcasts - and I can see that pewds also became more grounded and more interested in genuinity (if we look at his book reviews it’s very clear). And I like that. I don’t see anything wrong with acting my age and I wished other youtubers my age would do the same.
Why does this feel like a video made for me? All I can say is ... Thank you.. this sort of stuff really helps a lot.. This just shows why he is and deserves to be the king of this platform
Breakitdown ok i think you're giving him a little too much praise, he is a very good guy but i wouldnt call him the KING of youtube, he's a regulsr person like you and me and we should treat him as such.
i always like pewdiepie for being genuine and down to earth with contents and not go astray with egoism. I am glad you are happy felix! 8 years of work brought you to this today!
ClawCoupleSG I love pewdiepie and love seeing that hes so honest with his audience and himself. He makes fun of both and he doesn't care its.kinda like old friends poking fun at each other. I've been watching pewdiepie since high sophomore year and now I'm a junior in college going for my nursing degree and he brighten every day in between and I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this thanks you
FiveADayProductions diffrent story tho. He literally killed his channel himself because he didn’t want to host anymore and failed to realize that people weren’t watching mainly for the funny videos but instead of him and his humor and other hosts just didn’t cut it. I loved his shows man until he started forcing new hosts. But if he didn’t enjoy hosting anymore it was probably for the better the channel died.
Sometimes people think they want the fame and glory, until they actually get it and then they don't want it. Hope all is going well and happy to see 3 yrs later you're still here creating content
my boy you've taugh me soo much and just watching so many ppl for like 2 years it's so much it's like you just know I'm happy to see you have passed 500k also I've watched for almost 2 Years
This is seriously the most poignant and thoughtful episode I've seen. Gave me a new perspective on my pursuit, here on this platform. Thank you for this.
The depression is so real sometimes. Especially when you’re putting in so much hard work and your channel isn’t getting the growth and exposure you expect. Definitely hard not to give up
Wait...are we even friends?
CinnamonToastKen no
well ken maybe if you didn’t get him killed in pubg you would be
We can be more than friends
CinnamonToastKen lol 😂😂
I was like number 68... RIP I wanted to be 69
Almost every top comment is from a verified UA-cam channel agreeing with what you’re saying. It’s no coincidence, you perfectly put into words what a lot of UA-camrs go through. This is definitely going to be a favorite video of mine for a while.

Youmuus yeah!!! This is some teaching by pewds-sama 👀
Papa poods gives a good real-talk about once a month, i think.. kind of hard to say with pew news existing now, since Poppy Harlow is always speaking that wisdom👌

All real talk here unlike fousey with those trying-hard meta motivational talk
YOOUUMUUUUSSS
Sure, being a youtuber is a tough sport. But Famester makes it a lot easier.
Pretty solid analysis. UA-cam definitely has an interesting psychological effect on its creators... can't say I'd recommend it to most people.
Pravus Gaming wew didn't imagine you watched the king of UA-cam xD
Loved your urban empire playthrough
Oh hey! Love your channel!

EYY ARMY~~
Yh cuz i agree with him but I've never really gotten bored of pewds
As an "youtuber" who kind of gave up on this hobby of mine because of no views, this video really cheared me up. The "If people don't watch them then you at least have fun making them" actually got to me. Thank you Pewds for the message.
With content like this i just really feel like felic is like the big brother of all the other youtubers, so down to earth and just honest about everything
Ikr
Just love the vids in which u just stand infront of the camera and talk about on whichever topic u feel like talking about.
I more into let's plays, where he can talk same topics but longer and with gayplay in the background.
every video?
I love the Gameplay type of videos.
Дмитрий Петрович gayplay?
Дмитрий Петрович I like when he does gayplays too
The only thing that is keeping Pewds motivated these days is his placement on The 100 Most Handsome Faces List! THAT IS TRUE VALIDATION!!!
oi
TC Candler oof
TC Candler nobody askkeddd
Yes, we all know
Did you just self promote here?
This is the reason why he is the top of UA-cam. He can see through the superficial parts of it and just enjoy the community of people who really get and enjoy his content.
He made a good point about people watching new channels and bingeing all their content, it gets boring after a while of keeping up with their uploads and you’d just stop really watching… I think after a few years coming back to channels like these are amazing, because you just kinda rotate it through your schedule and through tens of other channels and it’s not as boring because you have a widespread interest between tons of channels rather than just being addicted to one of them😂
Well said. Glad you spoke up for how a lot of us feel!
Don't worry RTB, I'm still watching.
Poggers RTB here
Am still here RTB
RememberTheBeat Ohhh. Didn't know you were in the bro army.
fucking weeaboo
How is this not #1 on trending???
Paul Tech because UA-cam expects more from him.
Paul Tech bc youtube
Paul Tech Because he's a white supremacist.
I'm just joking chill
Probably because this could start a sort of awakening on UA-cam that might hurt their business
Because UA-cam only wants Cable TV to be on trending.
This is exactly how most all of us youtubers feel. Very well put into perspective for most people that find it hard to understand why we all have our own respective struggles.
How's it going, Wil? Hope you're doing good. Big fan here :)
Wil Dasovich damn
Wassup wil :) nice seeing you here in this channel!
Hi wil!!
Hello me
thank you so much for this, its what i've been facing now
We are always feeding the giant invisible machine. Constantly trying to please it. Until it consumes us.
Chris Ramsay you’re a magician you can make views out of thin air
Martin hill SAME!! I just watched a few of his videos and suddenly i saw his comment here!
You drink to much water u drown (denzel Washington) love ur vids
Chris Ramsay hey! Didn't know you watched Pewds, then again who doesn't? I just wanted to let ya know you truly inspired my passion for magic, you've showed me the virtues of what it means to give credit when credit is due. Love your content man.
I spot a community crash

"Don't be a salad. Be the best god damn broccoli you can ever be." -PewDiePie
I feel like Vanoss is doing good. He's humble :P
I’m glad you’ve been holding strong and are continuing to make videos! I look forward to your videos every day. I’m still watching all the same youtubers that I’ve been watching since 2009 (plus some new ones!)
Oh my god you got hearted by Beastmaster64
Brittany and Michael Vlogs omg hearted by pewds
This is some real Daddy talk Felix thank you
He reads the comments 😯
Brittany and Michael Vlogs me too. Been following those Paul brothers since the begining
To be honest, you are the most appropriate person to be the face of UA-cam. Compared your personality to others, you seem the most deserving to be the king of UA-cam
Yup, he's one of the most intelligent and down to earth guy in the platform
He is king of youtube lol. 69m subs dude.
@Catty Claire whattle Fluffington 87 mil!
I agree
King of the Internet. Period!

Hell yeah boi. I love his new content
True. Still kinda wish he makes more gaming vids though.
Gotta love Felix, he change a lot over the years but always stay humble.
Numbers r yummy tho
Thanks for the inpiration

Cool video. The most successful UA-camr in the world speaks about his own personal experiences and gives advice (and a few valuable life lessons) to others. It shows he still cares about this platform and especially the thousands of young creators who are desperate to "make it" in a difficult, demanding, stressful and extremely competitive environment.
Well said bro

Tonyshazam preach
Tonyshazam you made me emotional stahp
Tonyshazam yeah, I was so sad when he took the screeching out of closet jumping fake personality. Big up the real Felix!
"Let" him? Felix can do whatever he wants. We are not the boss of him.
dorothy b we’re not the boss but social media takes a big toll on anyone
That RayWilliamJohnson cut @3:04 talking about the biggest channels dying out was a minor touch but so good.
It put a smile on my face but made me slightly sad afterwards. Seems so long ago now, simpler times.
4:05 is an example of mimetic desire. People liking or disliking something not because they genuinely like or dislike it, BUT because others like or dislike it. Learning about the concept at the moment, and now I see it everywhere.
I feel like Felix is like the Simpsons of UA-cam. I may follow it daily, and I may spend months without watching him, but I always come back.

this is honestly one of my favorite videos right now and I'm boutta replay it 5 times so that his message can really stick with me. I've started noticing that i've been heavily over looking the numbers recently to validate my content and even myself even though I originally loved what I create which is extremely unhealthy for me so i'm gonna try, even though it's hard, to take a step back from all the stats and analytics for a bit and just make content because thats what I love doing right now.

people die if they were killed
My channel has a very small niche (small engine repair) so I came to the realization long ago that my channel will never have millions of views, but you can't let that discourage you!
As a creator, I took inspiration directly from you Felix, do what makes *you* happy... It couldn't be more true!
Don't try to please everyone, just make content that you want to make, and focus on quality content.
I was demonetized for about 4 months (when UA-cam introduced the 1000 sub minimum) and I literally had like 989 subs the day I got demonetized lol
But I didn't let that *demoralize* me, I kept at it, posting new videos every week, and here I am, finally got remonetized in June and I'm just grateful to be able to make some money doing something that I love.
I’m also from Ontario, glad to hear you’re doing what you like
So humble, I subbed to you man

Eliminator Performance what
I just heard Other UA-camrs talk about the same thing. This is good stuff! Love the honesty and transparency.
#smallUA-camrsunite
true.
(wo)man, being happy sure is tough :/
Max Warner yes real job as in not working 9-5 for anyone else. Never said UA-cam wasn’t a good job bc it’s awesome if you’re able to achieve being able to live off it, but let’s be honest it’s more of a “dream job” rather than a normal achievable real job for many ppl.
This better not be some weird prophecy that comes true in my life

Hello faces
Yesterday you were 47, now youre 9. How does it feel?

Ain't nobody has time the read this
I think the reason why I liked pewd's channel for so long is because you can actually feel that there's honesty even behind his persona, and the fact that he can come out and discuss how he feels about things in ways that sometimes deviate from his usual vid formats has a lot of sincerity.
Its rare to see him make a serious video, but man does he pull it off well.
these types of videos are so real and honest i appreciate it.

NPT Music "we"? Lol.. U barely have an audience bruh ffs
NPT Music I'd just make sure to spread your time properly and try to take 1 or 2 days off everyweek and have some vacations if possible as well (at least 1 every year).

Totally relate to everything you've mentioned.
Personally, we lost half our views 2 months ago because UA-cam decided to delete half of our content under false claims.

Do what makes you happy, and you'll never really lose in the end, even if things do go downhill.
Kel10 I don’t see how fornite can make you happy 🤮
This is why he's at the top because he makes videos like this, he sheds light on not just his personal problems but the problems of YTubers and the platform itself.
Very well said, I agree!
nice way of advert

Frosty the times where better back then, youtube was better, there are only couple of channels left that are worth watching

When you came out saying that you put up a persona back in the days, showing people a fake happy face, i was literally jumping in my seat saying "finally!!"
I personally always felt that there was something off, and yes, i even unsubscribed at one point, because you were one of those "many jumpy-loud-over-the-top-non-genuine" people.
Myrmidia first time liking other comment on UA-cam, you deserve my
Sir, every point you make here is legitimate. And everything you say is right, but unfortunately kids these days like flashy, jumpy, adrenaline and dopamine rushing videos. This is what society is turning into, and there are much less people that value genuinity, and virtue.
Yousif Nouman it's like whoa we live in a society, bro!
Yousif - that's what old people say. Once upon a time you were a punk too.
