I tried to make this cocktail and it's fine. Not great, but still good. There's a subtle hint of chocolate, but it's in no way "in your face" or particularly chocolate-y. Love the garnish, by the way! It looks really stylish and I will steal it for future drinks. ;)
Another cocktail that features flavour transmogrification is the Jasmine cocktail: 1 1/2 oz gin 1 oz Cointreau 3/4 oz Campari 1/2 oz lemon juice Tastes like grapefruit even though there is none in the actual drink.
Ive made this several times now.. And it's one of my fav drinks ever actually, really amazing :) But does it taste chocolate? I dont really know.. The after taste yeah kind of, but i dont think its overwhelming at all like this guy says.. Are my taste buds doing something wrong? xD
I just woke up from a dream that I ordered a Sam Carter drink from a posh place called VE .. a large orange/ red drink with a cherry through a straw it was $29 I just woke up and Google Sam Carter drink and found your video lol
real Haddock often when you freeze water at home it has bubbles and your water might be hard with calcium etc. It's fine for ice, but it can affect the flavour of a cocktail, so use bottled/filtered water or buy ice :)
Jess Rushworth Right, calcium, carbonates and other minerals can cloud drinks and make them less acidic (changing the sourness/sweetness balance). Water that taste funny also makes ice that taste funny, Make ice out of destilled water, bottled water, tapwater and water from the nearest ditch or pond and compare.
if the ice is cloudy it's not good to add to a drink honestly...better off using it to cool cans and bottle...if you go to any decent place that serves quality drinks they serve you clear ice...they taste different and cloudy ice melts quick and we all know that feeling when you leave your glass of expensive brandy or w.e with ice in it for a min or two and you come back to it all watery...*painful memories*
+Jamie Oliver, just made this drink again and I think I made it better than last time! It's so good!! Thanks again Sam!!! 😊😊🍸 I'll have the picture posted on my instagram soon!
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! ***** HAVE TO MAKE THIS FOR MY BIRTHDAY WHICH HAPPENS TO FALL ON EASTER THIS YEAR!!! I have a small bottle of Pearl Vodka gin. I would have loved to have taken a course at university from a Gin Professor! Nice video....

+dannynannady WOW! We need to try this!
is it just the vanilla/grapefruit combo that makes it taste of chocolate or does the gin have a part?
Jess Rushworth The gin has a HUGE part.
He's cool! More videos with him!
This Sublime Moment cocktail looks perfect for a Sublime Scotland Grils Gin Tour!
+Sublime Scotland We see what you did there. Bravo.
Thank you! We enjoyed our first Gallus Girls Gin Tour of Scotland at Easter weekend.
As a stargate fan... Sam Carter :')

Hi there,
I'd like to know where did you buy the tool to get the juice from the grapefruit!!
Mattia AIBES Pretty sure Sam picked up his in Australia. A quick Google for screw in juicer should see you right!
Does everyone on DrinksTube use 2:1 sugar syrup?
Not sure my friend at my bar does.
I always thought sugar syrup was equal parts sugar and water?
Frankly your drinks r actually kinda worthy of followed exactly and precisely

good quality ice? im confused
you dont want none of that bad quality ice, completely changes the complexity of the cocktail

+The Logan Give it a try and you'll soon understand the surprise! ;)
+Jamie Oliver's Drinks Tube
I intend to!
This is my uncle!!!
COOL!
The mere idea of transmogrification has my interest piqued. I have to try this immediately, it is imperative.
valiantnipple DO IT
Si. :)
Out of literally everyone I know, only I drink Gin.
You know who is awesome?
Read the first word.
chocolate?....what chocolate?!
That is a lot of sugar in the syrup!
Under 301
totally not taste any chocolate, with the blue gin or the monkey!
too sweet as well for my taste!
anyway I love the syrup!
Wtf...who the hell bartends with measurements like milliliters?
you get a chocolate taste as there is a kilo of sugar in it
I guess you are an 'american'?
mmh
Benjamin Pullicino A kilo of sugar to make half a litre of syrup. You'll use 15 ml of that syrup in the drink, not the full 500.
im not american
***** Thanks, how very sweet of you. You guys seems obsessed of that stuff. (Sweetness, not bestiality).
First
Does NOT taste of chocolate! A tasty cocktail nevertheless
second
100 :)
Gin.... professor?
Yeah, what is that?
This guy was horribly pretentious. I did not enjoy this video at all!!
