this is probably gonna be the first time I properly incorporate a commented suggestion, next beat I post has a beat switch with some shit inspired by the texture of the melody on hyena, that guitar like plucky repeating ostinato@@THEREALNTNB
I don't know what I'm doing but basically just look for weird avantgarde movies that are visually interesting, watch it and then download it and chop it up to the beat. I'm pretty new to editing videos but just chop it on beat and find ways to make the emotions of the visuals (not just what shot you're using but also the editing pace etc) align with the emotions of the music at the given moment and how you can enhance the music with visuals. as far as the technical side of it goes all i'm doing is cutting clips time stretching clips and sometimes reversing them so it's super easy shit. to answer your question learn by trial and error and cut up interesting footage. hope this helps

@@futurelustmedia To be honest i started making music because i saw a simon servida video and thought it was sick, downloaded a demo version of FL studio over lockdown and tried it. kept doing it because it was more fun and far more fulfilling than video games. it got to the point where at my last year of school I was getting there early to be in the music room, skipping classes breaks and staying in till the janitor kicked me out every day for a few terms 😭 i play a bit of piano and i own 2 guitars but wouldn't say i can play them lol yeah send over some music i'd love to give it a listen man :)
