I had a similar situation. As a 10 year old girl a couple months ago, we went to see fireworks in PA with my cousins and uncle, my parents were not there. So about 20-25 minutes in I was having a blast. Until EVERYONE got up and ran for their life. I didn’t know why this happened so I ran too. I got pushed over and almost fell, I screamed for my cousin “JOHN!!?” Cus I had lost him. I eventually found him and my uncle and other cousin and we ran to the street. We asked some people and they had said they here gun shots. When we got to the car I was having an anxiety attack and was crying. Luckily God spared me another day and I’m so thankful. I did some research that night and it turns out it was a teen boy and he got shot and died, people think it was a shotgun.
Now a couple months later, I still have sleeping issues and anxiety sometimes. That was the SCARIEST night of my life.. I’m glad I could have someone to tell this too.

I felt your pain, Chelsea. ONE awful day, back at aged seventeen in March 2012, my autistic (Asperger-diagnosed) brother who was living on-campus at GWU in Washington, DC got into a very heated argument with my mom on the phone. I was caught in the middle of the “painful situation”. It emotionally damaged my heart in my head. That was my WORST teenhood memory ever that I had to put up with an abuse too. And I feel like I’m the only child. And I feel like I‘ve failed with my own brother and cheated with him over his disorder. I just want him back before it’s too late. My brother is verbally abusive, mean, and unfriendly.

Ugh, so sorry that happened to you both. Thank God Stella was so quiet. I was in a minor car accident about a month ago and I hear you about fumbling with your hands and how terrifying that is. I googled 911 that day instead of calling, your brain just goes into survival mode and you can’t think logically. So scary. Very glad you’re okay. That Target employee deserves some major recognition, maybe go get his name if you can go back there and call Target upper management to recognize him?

OMG, I am SO GLAD you & Stella made it out of this situation alright!!! Having a hard time unbuckling Stella, had to add to the horror tremendously in those seconds you two were exposed while struggling with the seatbelt. Things like this forever changes you! I HOPE the police can find something big to charge this guy with, because he REALLY should NOT be able to keep doing this garbage & get away with it!!! He is a ticking time bomb fixin to go off at ANY time, so the LAST thing he should be able to do, is to continue to carry or have access to a firearm!!! Chelsea, when I was in Canada I was at a hockey rink and I was in a pro-shop and a guy came in and pulled a gun out, and aimed it at the person at the desk and then was arrested in seconds

You should look into taking a women’s self defense class. Most local police departments hold these classes and if they do t they will be able to tell you who does. These classes will teach you how to handle yourself in these type of situations...how to protect your kids too. Unfortunately with the way this world is it very well could happen again if not to you then someone you know.
