Actually, the ending is only important for what it doesn't mention. If you watch the full ending video, where they are going back over the evidence and chronological series of events put forward, the detectives cover his crimes, but not his motivations. The lesson put forward is that he would be remembered as a murderer, not a victim himself. No mention of bullying or child abuse. Only the mention of him doing drugs and killing two people.
Dojan5 Well yeah, they just didn't have enough soul to get it... y'know good. That mixing up of names at the end was the last gasp of a life being devoured, up is down, right is left as the light fades from his eyes... either that or the dude just couldn't proofread to save his life.
"I'm sorry I wasn't cool enough for you"...huh? That Amy girl was perfectly willing to socialise with the main character within seconds of meeting him...why's he got a grudge against her? Was he meant to come off as being in the wrong there, like it wasn't just that he was bullied, but that he was also awkward and made things worse for himself? Was it also Amy that got shot at the prom? Because wow, that's pretty fucked up.
+Paul Dennett Other commenters have said that if Jim hadn't skipped out on the ending when he did, that yes it was going to be revealed that Amy is the girl he shot at the prom.
+mjc0961 That's messed up....I'm just wondering if it's a knowing kind of messed up, like the dev knows the main character is in the wrong for that resentment of her. I hope so.
+Paul Dennett I agree. I mean, he had a grudge against Ted and was bullied b y him, but why go after Amy? She was kind to him and never gave him any shit. This game annoys me, even if the first part was funny as hell.
+Mika Rose (Sweetdeath) She lied, when Peter asked her to the prom she said that she was having diner with her parents. Not justifying Peter killing her, I'm just saying.
I can't help but be kinda fascinated by this, it's complete amateur hour but I think the dev was on to something here. The idea of making a game that tackles this kind of issue is a good one, too bad this game is so badly made. It's bad but an intersting kind of bad.
inoffensive coddler I'm now imagining a game where you play as both the bully and the vitctim and show how this affects them. Many times when bullying is shown in media it's very onesided, but you could also examine WHY the bully is acting the way s/he does. Most of the time they are suffering from some kind of abuse themselves and maybe as a result an inferiority complex.
+MrFutago87 That's a pretty interesting idea, playing both as the bully and victim. All the bullies I knew in high school hung out together but I really got a distinct feel that none of them really liked each other and most of them did so they wouldn't be bothered. Though, I knew a couple who were straight-up violent. One ended up punching a teacher when she told him to stop, which lead to his immediate expulsion. I'm having trouble critiquing this game. I can appreciate what it's trying to do and what it wants to be, but nearly everything is handled so poorly. I appreciate it for its ambition and give it an A for effort but the rest, like the bunny imagery, is either pointless or horribly handled.
+MrFutago87 me too, I liked the way he used the assets too, the way he put them together was unique and creative. Its a shame the writing is so cliche and badly translated, and that there is no real gameplay. I get that the game is a mess but I can also tell he actually tried, not just asset flipping any old shit onto steam. I hope he makes more stuff in the future.
+MrFutago87 It's got good art potential, but the dev was super lazy on the gameplay aspect. He also didn't spin the best narrative. As Jim mentions, you don't really feel for the main character and actually think he's kind of a tit towards the end. You might feel bad for him in the dad scenes, but there's never anything else added that show any type of character growth or development.
Any subject matter can be done in game, no matter how tragic, no matter how taboo, it just has to be done well. A game about a child who is horribly bullied in school, tormented to the point that he cannot handle it anymore and has a psychological breakdown and takes out his frustration, fear, anger and sadness out on everyone? Sure, obviously I wouldn't make it a goddamn CoD FPS, but it could be done in a thoughtful, evocative manner. Make you feel something for the child, show what they went through that brought them to that point.
Man I feel bad that this game was so poorly designed. Its clear that this guy is making this project out of a genuine desire to create an emotional and personal experience. But there were such basic design oversights like controls, the specifics of where you have to click and the overuse on the bunny jumoscare. Plus this game really needed some basic QandA, I get that the dev probably was very excited about releasing a game that means so much to him personally but he just needed to spend more time refining it and probably getting someone to whom english is a first language to polish the dialogue up a bit. Plus that Ted Bundy thing was ripped straight from the likes of David Cage and M. Might Shamalamadingdong.
They didn't know which reference they wanted to make: Ted Bundy or Peter "Rabbit".Also, I hunted down the last seven minutes after Jim quits, literally no new enlightening information..
Do these developers have the slightest idea of how rabbids even work? The normaly are NOT as huge as humans and don't carry guns you know. Guess this game is evil propaganda from the guine pig lobby!!1!
Morphine is a strong pain killing drug that doesn't necessarily effect everyone the same. This is true of any drug in high doses morphine can cause a lot of weird issues
I... don't how much have to say after that. Other than that we need a new word that means "unsettlingly cringey," to describe what it's like to watch an artistic expression of a serious topic that's rather... lackluster.
29:40 Well, you know what's gotta happen next folks. Mmm, what you say? Mm, that you only meant well? Well, of course you did. Mmm, what you say? Mm, that it's all for the best? Of course it is. Mmm, what you say? Mm, that it's just what we need? And you decided this. What you say? Mmm, what did She say?
Seems like Ted/Peter were the same person, one representing the self doubt and the other the self loathing. Nobody reacted when he killed the first person because that person was an aspect of his personality/all in his own head Amy was real though
I don't think the Dev realises that you need the character to be likeable or interesting for the audience to care, like piling on abuse won't make the player care no matter how long it goes on.
Anyone notice at around 7:59 there's only the shadow of the rope, not the rabbit? If this game even pretended to be good you could say it was intentional, a representation of how the rabbit is just another representation of the characters shattered mind, but no, they forgot to make it cast shadows.
When I watched the first part, and the idea of playing the rest of it was posed, I was hopeful. But with a busy period of video garme jurnalizm coming up, I knew it was a pipe dream. Thank you, Jim, you magnificent man beast!
Horrible gameplay aside, the story is pretty shitty itself. The protagonist just whined about being a loser, which made him annoying, with no character development at all, and the bully was just a generic moustache twirling bad guy. I knew shit was gonna go down in some way at the end, but never felt empathy for any of them. They weren't characters, they were archetypes.
"Well now it's time to like P, you're not a kid anymore..." And this is why you get someone to properly translate your script. Edit: I'm guessing the after credit thing was an overly long stinger suggesting the rabbit thing was real or something. Whatever, I don't give a shit either way.
Also, I still don´t get who or what the girl with the school-uniform outfit and auburn hair was supposed to be/mean. You know, the one who would sometimes scream at the camera with a monster face, holding a head in hear hands, doing the exorcist walk once and vanshing next to P.
Maybe she was an imaginary friend. He didn't want anyone sitting next to him because that would mean losing her. That's why she disappeared when Amy came to class - she kinda replaced the imaginary thing.
@Jim Sterling ...it actually continues a very long time. And the boy survived. It's all very odd... checked out the ending at GrimYaz channel. It gets rather more fucked up too in that they show the corpses of the dead kids and all...
I have to admit... I saw that ending coming back in part 1, the symbolism wasn't exactly subtle. The hell of it is that this could actually be a fascinating story, a horrible one but still fascinating. As it stands though. the surreal unintentional comedy and the dark themes just conflict with each other, neither light enough to stand as a "The Room" style so bad it's good classic, nor competent enough to be Donnie Darko. But I would like to see more from this creator's twisted mind all the same.
I will say this: the dev clearly has some serious emotional issues, but chose to express them in a harmless outlet instead of acting on any violent thoughts. As twisted as the end of this game is, it is, ultimately, harmless. So, good on him for that.
KatarnandKanos that's debatable. A lot of the abuse shown in this game feel stupid, unlikely and pointless. Perhaps it wouldn't have if they translated it decently. Judging by the last section it seems likely he had some bad experiences. I've personally been subject to bullying for most of my school life, although I didn't realise it until later, due to a lack of social skills at the time. So, perhaps they have serious emotional issues, or perhaps it's just some overblown recounting from a kid in their emo phase. If the developer was competent, I'd be more willing to accept that.
Thank you for doing part 2 of this game- at first I was very happy to see more of a very unique game... Though it felt a little too "heavy" towards the end. The grammatical errors and mood felt like carrying a large stone. Thanks for sticking through it!
I'm watching this again. Do you think the reason the creator calls the main character "P" every now and then is because he meant to do a word find/replace to fill in his name?
Cafeterias upstairs aren't something really odd, my school had and still has one on the second floor while the actual dining hall is on the third floor.
Jim...I love you, I love your channel and most of all, I love what you stand for. But sometimes when I watch one of your videos I think..."I really hope this is the last I ever see of this game". I thought that about part one of this game. I can't watch any more of this xD Keep up the good work!
Cafeterias and kitchens have gotta be on the bottom floor because otherwise getting waste out and deliveries in will be a nightmare. But, then, if this school is as cretinous as Peter, that wouldn't be a surprise.
What is this "Thanks Giving" that so many people are discussing? I'm pretty sure Christmas is at most a month away so it can't possibly be Christmas related.
Jam, maybe you will wait some time after uploading a video and not publish it until it fully encodes so early birds like me won't be stuck with 360p mess anymore?
I am really sure that "Ted" was the name of the bully earlier, not the protagonist (P). Also, his last name was revealed early on, when the game couldn´t decide if it was "Bundy" or "Bunny".
What would have been a better twist at the end would be something like the story "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge". Where the kid hallucinated the shooting right after he injected himself, and the last scene shows him still in the bathroom.
Oh shut the hell up. The hallucination is part of the transition to death, what people refer to as near death experience. That's what happens in the Owl Creek story as well. I have plenty of experience with drugs thank you
Red88Rex k.......unless it's comparable to 20 years of shooting up then I would say no ya don't......I don't know maybe you do, I don't know you so.......and that wasn't even necessarily directed at you.......more at the video.......so thanks for jumping the gun and being a jerk right off the bat.......(slow clap,)
Ok well sorry if I came off as aggressive, but you were talking about me mentioning the hallucination...you should look up that short story. The twist is great
Actually, the ending is only important for what it doesn't mention.
Ted was such a prick that people refused to stop dancing
+LuffyBlack But don't you see Peter was the bully and Ted was the loser! What a twist!
Alexander Demkin Was that really the twist? I was confused as hell
LuffyBlack If it was not a twist than it would mean the maker forgot which charter was which.
Alexander Demkin LOL
How did the dev get the names wrong at the end? Ted was the bully, Peter was the main character.
+Sentinalh The developers poured their souls into this game. They worked really card to craft this beautiful world and its story.
Pfffffffffthahaah.
+inoffensive coddler tee-hee.....I mean lol (a manly LOL)
Dojan5
Well yeah, they just didn't have enough soul to get it... y'know good. That mixing up of names at the end was the last gasp of a life being devoured, up is down, right is left as the light fades from his eyes... either that or the dude just couldn't proofread to save his life.

tell me about the rabbits, George ?

+Rob Bay I think it was supposed to be a "twist".

Based on true events. The dev actually dug himself out of his grave to make this game.
They didn't know which reference they wanted to make: Ted Bundy or Peter "Rabbit".Also, I hunted down the last seven minutes after Jim quits, literally no new enlightening information..
I wasnt one of the people asking for part 2 but thanks for listening to the fans I like when youtubers do that!
16:02 the reading killed me. Oh God! I'm in tears. How Jim held it together is beyond me.

Didn't see that Ted Bundy twist coming...bravo, I guess?
But Ted was the bully. P meant peter, right? What the hell?
+hidaki motozoa I think maybe he was going for a "We're not so different, you and I..." ending?

kitty gamer937 What do we get if we don't sub?
now that you think about it, Peter Bunny, then Peter Bundy, then Ted Bundy
The abusive dad looks like Franz Kafka. Which is ironic.
They switched the names of Ted and Peter in the end
When I watched the first part, and the idea of playing the rest of it was posed, I was hopeful. But with a busy period of video garme jurnalizm coming up, I knew it was a pipe dream.

yeah jim you are right about the cafeteria thing
that shit belongs on the first floor
is this the prequel to Hatred?
The first Morphine episode was my favorite Squirty Play of all time! Good to see it back!
Happy thanks giving every one how did all your thanksgivings go did you git any good Black Friday deals ?
Press F to P
"More the hays to their place and clean up the space." i cant stop laughing
Jim, I'm very thankful for you, ya big beautiful pink bear with a pog obsession.
"Well now it's time to like P, you're not a kid anymore..."
And this is why you get someone to properly translate your script.
Edit: I'm guessing the after credit thing was an overly long stinger suggesting the rabbit thing was real or something. Whatever, I don't give a shit either way.
I do love how they made the animations on daddy when he is rowing the boat. Just tilting the model back and forth but no actual arm movements.
This is like emo poetry in video game form, UUUGHHH it's insufferable. Is the dev really expecting us to feel sympathy for a school shooter??
He's clearly still feeling his shit out. Given time this could become well written poetry the video game!
Also, I still don´t get who or what the girl with the school-uniform outfit and auburn hair was supposed to be/mean. You know, the one who would sometimes scream at the camera with a monster face, holding a head in hear hands, doing the exorcist walk once and vanshing next to P.

I thought this was Thanksgiving, not Christmas.
2:30 Methinks you forgot to cut away there Jim.
well, at least this game...Tries to have a message...I guess
@Jim Sterling
...it actually continues a very long time. And the boy survived. It's all very odd... checked out the ending at GrimYaz channel. It gets rather more fucked up too in that they show the corpses of the dead kids and all...
did no one notice that the flashbacks where from the bullies perspective?
as in we paled as peter the bully
Kitchens are quite consistently on ground floors, to the extent that there's very probably a damn good reason.
+Magmafrost13 Probably to shorten the trip for bringing ingredients in and garbage out.
Jim, you didn't make a mistake, the protagonist and antagonist's names switched out of nowhere halfway through this video
34:01 Yeah, what was he doing in Rush? Like, what instrument did he play? The washers/dryers behind Geddy Lee?
CRAAAAAAAWWWWLIIING IIIIINNN MMYYY SSSKIIIIINNN: The game
I love how theyre all dancing when you wait it out, just a dead guy in the middle of the dance floor.
Jim, remember the original F.E.A.R ? That had some of the craziest hall-walking sections, manipulation of reality...some legit suspensful moments.
And the dreamscape corridor sections from Max Payne. Don't forget those Jim!
Thank God for Jim caving in to peer pressure!
I'll give the guy points for at least trying to making something that meant something. Should probably lay off watching Donnie Darko for a bit though.
Jim, thank you *so* much for finishing this playthrough! A wonderful ThanksJiming present! Thank God for Jim!
Happy thanks giving Jim. I'm thanking God for you man!
cafeterias and similar places usually go on the bottom floor for simplicity in plumbing set-ups.
The high school I went to actually had an upstairs cafeteria, a whole kitchen up there too! How dare you try to squash architects' dreams Jim.
I mean, I'm turning 22 on the twelfth this month, and I can swim no better than a rock.
Thank you for doing part 2 of this game- at first I was very happy to see more of a very unique game... Though it felt a little too "heavy" towards the end. The grammatical errors and mood felt like carrying a large stone. Thanks for sticking through it!
Is this what happens when M Night Shyamalan and David Cage join forces?
I know the developer tried to pass a message but he could do it with less Killer Rabbits I believe.
I'm watching this again. Do you think the reason the creator calls the main character "P" every now and then is because he meant to do a word find/replace to fill in his name?
This game is Jim's equivalent to Moviebob's Schlocktober, a game made with passion that can't be believed to exist.
So would the game of gone different if jim never messed up the QTE's?
"Probably he was injected morphine herself." Brilliant sentence.
Do I notice a change in the thumbnail???? So, you started to make these changes that you said at the Jimdependence Day special?
+Avenged7X I made a style change, but these aren't the changes that are coming. I still got an actual professional working on things.
+Jim Sterling *cough* asset flip *couch*
+rickyrico80 No, Jim only uses his own, original couch assets.
+Rachel Fujotesh Its a joke kid.
+error 123 His comment was also a joke, baby.
I particularly enjoyed how the developer couldn't keep track of who was who.
Cafeterias upstairs aren't something really odd, my school had and still has one on the second floor while the actual dining hall is on the third floor.
This game does NOT portrait a morphine high.
It gives a very acurate description of morphine withdrawal.
Jim...I love you, I love your channel and most of all, I love what you stand for. But sometimes when I watch one of your videos I think..."I really hope this is the last I ever see of this game". I thought that about part one of this game. I can't watch any more of this xD Keep up the good work!
I was so hyped for you to play this again, thank the lord
Will there be a Review of this game?
I kind of hope so
29:18 never mind his neck, what's that rectangular object sticking out of his right shoulder?
The book in the classroom scene contains text in russian about copyright law. It has to mean something.
Welp, that was a hell of a trip... Again......
Its not exactly a jill sandwich is it lol
The best part is how they cock up the name of the bully and the protagonist at the "climax".
How was every ones thanksgiving you got any good Black Friday deals
Its so frustrating that you ended like that, wanted to see if there was another hilarious twist or more rabbit.
it's morphine....*again*
*shudders*
A game by David Cage Jr.
Thank you, Jim. I was hoping for this. :p
That book @ 16:32 said "RF _(Russian Federation)_ law of 9 july 1993. About copyright and neighbouring rights."
This is like if Beginners Guide was made by a person who didn't know how to turn off a computer let alone make a game.
I want to see S.H Monster Arts do a insanely detailed and articulated figure of that rabbit, got I want it along side all my other figures.
OH Happy Day indeed! Thank you Jim :D been wanting to see you play more of this xD
Jam, maybe you will wait some time after uploading a video and not publish it until it fully encodes so early birds like me won't be stuck with 360p mess anymore?
Stop bitching
+Chival 360p? I only have 144p! I don't remember watching part 1 and thought this was what a game named for a drug is supposed to look like.
+Chival or you could just you know wait?
Tucker DeBord Uh... Okay ( .__.)
Thank you not lets just enjoy the video cus it's grate
I am really sure that "Ted" was the name of the bully earlier, not the protagonist (P). Also, his last name was revealed early on, when the game couldn´t decide if it was "Bundy" or "Bunny".
I kind of want to see the rest of the ending bit to know if it makes this thing any more intelligible as to why he swapped names with the bully.
Dad: What TV shows do you watch P?
Peter/Ted/P: I watch anime dad. I'm not a loser!
Dad: You're staying here tonight P.
What would have been a better twist at the end would be something like the story "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge". Where the kid hallucinated the shooting right after he injected himself, and the last scene shows him still in the bathroom.
Red88Rex people are so ignorant of drugs, morphine doesn't make you hallucinate and neither does withdrawal from it.........
The twist is great
So did the developer just get their own characters confused, or was the reversal of Ted and Peter meant to be some kind of poorly executed mind fuck?
This was a nice surprise. Thanks for playing the game against Jim.
im pretty sure ted was the bully.......you weren't misremembering jim
