  • If you are a skinny guy and you struggle to put on muscle with your traditional heavy workouts, you are going to want to watch this and start doing the exercise I show you here every single day. This is something you can do whether you work out that day or not and it is going to provide benefits beyond just strength and size.

    The exercise is the carry. Not only is it one of the most versatile, as it can be performed with dumbbells, barbells, farmers bars, kettlebells or even plates, but it can be done in either a large area of space as in gym or walking back and forth in a small space if training at home.
    Jesse from Athlean-X has incorporated this exercise into his foundational strength exercises like the squat, deadlift and bench press and it has been helping him to get bigger and stronger on all of his lifts. The main benefit of the carry is that it is especially helpful for those guys that are very skinny when they start lifting and don’t have enough muscle mass on their frames to comfortably support the weight on the bar.
    It is for this reason that I actually prefer the deadlift to the squat for really skinny guys since they can more easily train with weights that their body can accommodate. When trying to rest a heavy barbell on the “shelf” of upper back muscles that doesn’t exist, it can be distracting and counterproductive for the very hardgainer to get past this early on.
    The carry however is something that allows you to get around this issue and start adding significant amounts of weight to the total system (you plus the weights you’re carrying). In addition, because the dumbbells or bars can be held at your sides in line with your center of gravity they are going to allow you to not have to load the spine or compress the vertebrae as much in the process of performing the lift.
    Beyond the strength benefits of the farmer’s carry there are many other significant and often overlooked ones. Most importantly is the posture improvements the carry provides the lifter. As was the case with Jesse, a beginner with terrible forward rounded shoulders and head posture, the carry promotes an upright torso with proper activation of the muscles of the upper back and traps. The fact that this can be done for time allows for an endurance benefit to these quick fatiguing muscles that helps to correct the issues long term.
    As a conditioning exercise, the carry is one of the best you can do particularly for skinnier guys who are hardgainers. This is due to the fact that the exercise itself is far more muscle sparing and less catabolic than a long 8 mile run daily would be. The caloric expenditure is lower but the weight bearing stress on the bones and muscles is something that is a net positive in terms of muscle gain.
    This also allows for good trap development without having to subject the shoulder joint to the abnormal dow and in motion that something like the rack pull would do. For this reason, this exercise is one that can build the traps without excessive risk to shoulder health.
    This exercise can and should be done every day because it does not impede on recovery from your workout. With no significant eccentric muscle stress applied to the body, it is easy to perform just a few laps of this exercise at the beginning or end of your workout for that day (or even on non-training days) and see all of the benefits mentioned above.
    If you’re looking for a complete training system that never underestimates the value of the carry as a good muscle gainer for everyone, be sure to check out the TOTAL BEAXST program at the link below and start seeing all new gains. This total body training program is going to add muscle to your body faster than any other workout you’ve tried.

      God is real and God is love. We are created to love God, trust God, and glorify God no matter what. We can't truly love God unless we trust Him and if you can't find God it's because you are not looking for Him. God knows our hearts and will allow anyone to be deceived who wishes to be. What we call life is just a test an illusion to see who loves God and how much. Anyone who truly loves God will keep God first, keep His 10 commandments, love their neighbors as themselves
      and do their best not to sin. We all sin and have fallen short of the glory of God. This is why God sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ
      to die on the cross for our sins so that all those who believe in Him and do their best to live a life that is pleasing to God will not perish but have everlasting life. Heaven and hell exist and the things we say and do in this lifetime will testify for us or against us and determine where we spend eternity. I was born in a Christian home and went looking for The Truth because I could see lies and deception in religion and wanted to know why there are so many different beliefs and religions. God gives us choices but wants us to choose Him.
      God allowed satan and his demons to test my faith with a demonic attack while He taught me a lesson about patience, holding my peace, and trusting Him no matter what. The Bible is true and this world is a lie.
      Spiritual warfare is going on right now and demons are fallen angels that work thru all people tempting us to sin and trying to win souls because it hurts God. God has given me spiritual discernment wich is the ability to detect these spirits. God wants me to help wake up the walking dead. The walking dead are people who don't know God are what He expects from us. God want us to love Him above everyone and everything. He also wants us to love everyone else like we love ourselves, to study His Word, and pray daily. Always remember our enemies are demons not the people they work thru. If we can't forgive others God won't forgive us on judgement day. God is love and love is the fulfillment of Gods law. This world rejects God because it is ruled by satan but God is always in control. God expects everyone who knows the truth to tell everyone who has been deceived. The only way to be saved from our sins is by repenting and excepting God 's only begotten son Jesus Christ because He paid the price for all sin when He died on the cross and rose again.
      Freedom is free and Jesus is the key. God is love and love is the fufillment of Gods law+++

    I’m 5’9 and I used to be 117 Lb at my skinniest. Im now 140 and continuing to gain weight and lifting at the gym. One thing I think is important for skinny guys is to do medium weight but each rep super slow. I also buy mass gainer with creatine and that shake saves my life when I’m not eating enough. I also suggest using preworkout it really helps you lift more and recover better.
    I respect all you skinny guys trying to get big❤️

      I m about to start gym
      U got some pro tips for me?

    • @SamJohnsonAZ
      @SamJohnsonAZ 3 роки тому +36

      @@salmansheikh4536 I can give a few. For me the gym is the easy part, eating is the hard part. Personally I try to eat around 3000 calories a day but what I recommend gradually eating more and more every day because if you try eating all that right away you will feel sick all the time. Personally I start my day with oatmeal or cereal plus some fruit. Then I go to the gym and I drink Gatorade (100 calories) while I workout (preworkout before) after the gym I almost immediately go out to eat. I like to eat out because a lot of fast food places are very calorie dense, but I normally try to eat quality food like pasta with protein but it’s totally okay to eat in-n-out or other fatty foods If your far away from your weight goal. Then after that I drink OPTIUM NUTRITION mass gainer (1 scoop= 625 calories) then for dinner I like to eat smaller normally, so I’ll eat a FRESHLY meal prep (around 500-600 calories) finally Before I go to bed I eat: apple sauce, fruit cup, fruit snacks, mini muffins, and maybe a banana or some dried fruit, maybe some cheese and nuts. You could eat other snacks that are less healthy and way higher in calories (example: pastries, ice cream, etc) but I personally like to eat a lot of little snacks because it’s easier for me to eat I guess. Hope that helps.

    I really appreciate your videos and information. I was so tired of hearing trainers brag about knowing how to get “you” to be “ripped” and “gain lean muscle” and then I’d look at their programs and example clients to find it was based on cutting calories and overweight guys who were just leaning down. That’s NOT my problem. I lose weight over holidays because of less activity. I’m really glad to find someone who legitimately has answers for true hard gainers. Thanks.

    Jeff this is a great video. I am 63 years old, lost tons of weight, don't know how much muscle I may have lost. It says if God wanted me to see this particular video of yours. This will help me build back my core stability even and maybe even some definition. I used to weigh 360 lb 3 years ago and now I'm 200 lb. I am 6 ft 5 in tall. I'm not very saggy I can tell that I may have lost a little strength. I have modified my nutrition quite a bit. So if I weigh 160 I'm supposed to be carrying 80lbs in each hand! got dang, are you sure that's the formula?

    • @wanderer4125
      @wanderer4125 4 роки тому +3

      That would be 130lbs each hand for me... We starting strongman now?

    I have noticed a difference on my hands , with enhanced grip strength, more muscular and veiny! Also my shoulders have more size and definition. I have two dumbells of 35 lbs and just walk up and down my living room. Also I do stairs with it and noticed my quads getting stronger. Very simple for a dude my age and easy on the lower back and elbows. 👍

    Good one. I did this by accident in my youth as a wannabe rock star. Used to carry my 12" combo amp by the handle in one hand, and a guitar case in the other hand, walking all over the place.
