My son was born when I was 44 and I made a commitment at that time to be healthy for him for the rest of my life. I was 6’ tall and weighed 235 pounds at the time. Now I’m 70. I weigh 175 and work out with my trainer 3 times a week as well as one day on my own and I take long hikes 2 or 3 days a week. Recently my son, who is 25, came to one of the workouts with me. He stays in pretty good shape, runs and lifts regularly and eats a decent diet. I demolished him at the workout - he was sucking wind by the end of it and I was ready for more. Now he’s going to my trainer regularly. I know he’ll be kicking my butt in a few weeks but that’s fine - being able to do that at 70 was very satisfying! I’m not gonna lie - it gets harder to do this as you get older. But as I like to say, I never regret a workout! Keep going! It matters!
I'm 61. 6'2", I weigh 180lbs. I workout 5dys a wk, 1-3 hrs a day. My goal is to keep my body looking good till I'm 70,80, 90 if I'm so blessed. Your story is inspiring, thanks for sharing it.

RFK looks great for his age and a very fair analysis from Jeff. My Dad at 85 still does weights twice a week and vigorous walks three days. I also called him the other day to ask when he wanted a hand to clear some old pretty large shrubs from the end of his garden ready to replace the fence....he'd done it, chopped up and taken them to the tip!!
My dad's 83 same thing. Former bodybuilder professionally and a tremendous all-around athlete. Thanks Dad for your genetics.... That said, I considered a very unfair analysis and assessment because the man has no lived experience with aging, the shoulders, the elbows, the knees, and the hips. You have no idea what's waiting for you. RFK Jr ignores the pain but does not do full range motion because when you get older I'm going to tell you that is a no-go often not possible without doing more damage than hypertrophy. Extensive inflammation can put the kibosh on your joints at that age so don't criticize him for his form. It's so weak myopic and narrow in scope of understanding the aging process. I don't even know where to begin criticizing this "expert."
@@Pucker-it-up No kidding! Analyzing this 70 year old man like he's 27 is just plain anal in itself. Let's give it up for him for being able to do what he is doing, ffs.

I should flag your comment for the amount of times people, complete strangers, physically attacked me irl. Except I'm not that petty. Idkabout your health, sorry.
I wish I realized that when I was younger but it’s never too late. I’m in my 30s and I am healthier and look and feel better than ever because I started caring about myself enough to actually take care of myself by exercising, eating less processed food, trying to get good sleep, etc..
"You only get one body folks. Use it, keep it healthy, take care of it." and all you need is one hour out every 24 to keep fit, trim and healthy (along with fresh food and good sleep)
I think the most important thing that Jeff said in the video was to have a why; a deeper meaning for doing what you do. Years ago, I would workout and then stop after a few months. Time would pass and I would repeat the process. A little before I married, we found out that my fiancée had myotonic muscular dystrophy. Fast forward to five years into our marriage and my wife fell trying to get up from the couch. Her condition had progressed to the point that she was unable to get up off the floor. I went to help her up and I struggled immensely. When I was finally able to get her on the couch I was out of breath. I could tell by the look on her face that she was worried about how hard it was for me to help her knowing that she would require more assistance in the future. From then on, she became my wife. I had to improve all areas of my life so that I could better care for her. When she was weak, I had to be strong. If I gave up or slacked off, then her life would suffer. I strongly urge you to find your why and to remind yourself of it daily. God Bless and have a great week!
And God bless you sir for still marrying this woman, even though you knew she had a terrible disease. A lot of men would walk out, in fact, a lot of men did! Even when they were already married for years they would let their spouse down once they found out that she’s ill instead of supporting the one woman they once “loved”. You made a statement saying: “don’t ask what your wife can do for you, but ask yourself what you can do for your wife!” I praise you Sir and I hope that you and your wife have a happy and fulfilling life together. Thank you for sharing this story with us and please say hi to your wife for us and be so kind to wish her well. Thank you.
No reason you can not get it back , with assisted ones, bicep curls, lat pull downs - I went from none to a lot in 6 months as a 59 year old. Now add some weights every once and awhile, which I think helps with grip strength- like 25KG extra - TBF I lost 10Kg and gained muscle - no TRT though , just creatine. Want to have more 1 arm grip strength. Always a laugh watching a 60Kg you tuber telling you it's easy when you weight 90Kg . just realise progress in first couple of months is slow- takes 6 weeks to build strength . If older please warm up, plus warm muscles mean it's easier . Pullups, press-ups and squats - then cardio, movement/flexibility is all most people need to stay in shape - plus maybe some light weights to stand watching sport to swing around , raise to roof when team scores a goal/try/point/run/td etc in the lounge
Thanks Jeff for giving RFK Jr some love. Politics is a crazy world, especially these days. His openness about his fitness regimen is akin to his openness about his social/political beliefs. May we all be that jacked at age 70!
I am 68 and following similar regimen. Most important to me is to avoid injuries as I get older and have complete functional movement. Good for him for being an example to older men and women.

As a guy in his 50's who has been working out many years, who is not on TRT and has never taken steroids, it is impossible for me today to do my first set and go to failure. One of the things that have changed for me with age is the need to warm up more. I use my first two sets just to loosen my joints with very little weight, then the intensity starts to kick in.
I'm 66. I do the same. I start out with very medium weights that I do easily, just to loosen and warm up. Then I add weight every set until I hit failure.
He's juiced to the gills to look good not be healthy....all these protein guzzling, needle jabbing wankers have balls the size of peanuts and their hearts and other organs are stressed and wear out fast......the thing is, you don't need all those needles to look good and be healthy, but it takes work.
Nice. The dictum "use it or lose it" is true, and, of course, people who use it, don't lose it. Doing what you're doing, at age 53, you are still young.

That’s amazing but you honestly don’t need a trainer, unless you don’t have the motivation to get to the gym in the first place, you’ve already learned everything he has to offer you
I love his why and can relate. I have no desire to be a couch potato. His message about health being a social obligation is so spot on. Thanks, Jeff!! Great multifaceted review!! 💙💪🏼
Thanks for this post, Jeff! You and RFK make a great point regarding the responsibility of each of us to optomize our health, especially strength and mobility, as we age. It's one aspect of our lives over which we all have control.
Imagine this man at the helm! His major focus will be on the chronic disease epidemic and health. Considering half of our children are now obese, or overweight, we are in a crisis. Let’s get RFK into office and heal our nation.

As a 68 year old male, I can relate to and admire RFK Jr. Without TRT, I surprised myself and completed the 5 sets of 12 pull ups and 5 sets of 40 push ups (better form on both than RFK). Thanks to Jeff's workouts and supplements, I can still hit it pretty hard 4-5 days a week. Keep moving is crucial.
That's pretty dang good. I've been training and doing pullups for years and years, and basically on my first set I can do 12+, but the numbers drops set by set rapidly from there on and on fourth set I'm lucky if I get 5 at 41 years old.
I would appreciate an episode aimed at senior lifters: types of exercises, reps and types, working around (past) injuries, nutrient suggestions for older population. What do you do for "1 hour of ab work"? Look into adding these supplements: AlphaGPC 1.2g/day, ALCAR 2g/day, RALA 600mg/day, Astaxanthin 12-24mg/day. Big hitters, worth the money.Whey is whatever, just eat beef/eggs, unless it's a cost-saving measure.

"Don't let the Old Man In"! That's a quote from Clint Eastwood when asked about his advice for aging well. I heard it a few years ago and it's been my motto since then too. I ride up a mountain about 4 or 5 times per week, do a few push ups and chin ups, sometimes a few kicks when brushing my teeth and eat more green leaf veggies than I like. Another quote that rang true to me was from another actor, Dolf Lungren on maintaining a fit and trim body (paraphrased) "there's 24 hours in a day and all you need to do is exercise for 1 of those hours to maintain a fit and healthy body."
My guess is he was in good shape most of his life, not coming into it grossly out of shape in late adulthood...the TRT just helps him maintain in short intense workouts what he built as a younger person
I agree, he worked out most of his life and stayed active. No injury or health issues is also a plus. Many of us working guys have ruined backs and knees that long took us out of lifting or sports.
And what would those be? His insistence on proper oversight on medicines, or his willingness to fight the corruption of our various agencies, or his lack of support for the forever wars? Oh maybe his Israel support which all candidates have?

Over the last 55 years of training for me a lot has changed...injuries are real..At 65 i do my best and workout for health..you can't always do perfect form and full range of motion like in your teens,20s,30s etc...the key is adjust your workouts to achieve best results...70 is no joke and this guy is most definitely training hard for his age...i myself take zero drugs,so cant recover as well as him. .i still want to train hard, but i have learned cutting back and eliminating certain exercises definitely benefits me rather than hurting..i train instinctively ,i always do different workouts every workout..i stop when i feel i did enough..for decades i over trained and ate a ton of food plus protein power etc..now i eat 2 meals a day...
I’m 65 and am a lot like you. I still weight train 4 days a week and want to be able to lift the rest of my life. No drugs ever and not far behind him.
I started using creatine 2 years ago and noticed a nice improvement in recovery time (and other benefits). If you don't take it, I would highly recommend it. Train almost everyday at 68.
I been on TRT for 11 years and I still got great muscle mass still at 75 years old! I've been lifting weights since 1972 consistently but I have to admit they do seem a lot heavier in the last couple! Warms ups are more important and more necessary now than ever than in the past!! Form is everything, a lot more important than heavier weight!
You’re on for another shorty 4 years. He’s flip flopping just to appease to all voters with tells you he’s full of shit and doesn’t do anything but filling his pockets
Considering John F. Kennedy’s work on the health of Americans in the 60s, RFK seems to be following his advice as well. I’m still inspired by the work at La Sierra High and their fitness program at the time. If you have not seen the videos about the high school, I would certainly encourage you to do a quick search on it and reflect on your surroundings and compare it to the kids of that time. Those kids were machines!💪
Love RFK Jr. One thing this video really doesn't cover that I think is important to remember is that he's been working out and taking care of himself most of his life. That's a lifetime of building solid strength and fitness. While we should take up fitness no matter what our age, condition or circumstances, starting out early has so many advantages.
trt is amazing! i’m 50 and have been on it for a year. i’m down 15 lbs. (6’4” 240) energy, motivation and focus off the charts. strength/fitness up. my recovery after a hard work out use to be 3/4 days of stiff joints and sore muscles now it’s 36 hrs usually less. yesterday i mountain biked 17 miles and this morning i feel great and could easily ride tonight! i’ve complained about the lack of all that since 42/44 and kept getting told “well you are getting older” “that’s a natural part of aging” men get checked! if your Ts below 400 you’re not doing yourself any favors by just toughening it out or accepting getting old.
I agree so much! As an healthcare worker, it's true what he said about the social duty to stay fit (if possible). The chronic preventable diseases cost so much to all of us $$$ and it's kind of terrible for your family to have to care of you if you are sick by something that could have been preventable with a better lifestyle. No one wants to be a burden so let's try to be it the least possible... :)
I believe what he said about aging and being able to be part of the family and be active speaks volumes. Mid 50's here 6' / 190lbs and T is around 8.6 ng/dL, am extremely active, yet struggle with the inability to lose that 10lbs of what seems to be mostly visceral fat. Have considered TRT on multiple occasions, but not pulled the trigger due to it being a permanent thing. I would love it if you would do a video kind of dedicated to my age group and the different potential scenarios regarding TRT. There are a lot of us, as you know. Thanks for the great videos and congratulations on all of your success here on YT.
While I personally dislike Kennedy's political platform, he deserves a ton of credit for transparency with his exogenous hormone use. There's no reason why movie stars can't acknowledge the same protocols when they do interviews on their diet, exercise regimens, etc.
TRT is no big deal. If youre low in test you should be on it. Im on it for the last two years. I feel great. My levels are that of a young man in his prime. Why let age take you down if there's something you can do about it.
I’m 70 I feel the same. I want to be able to do all the things my kids and grandkids do. I’m not quite as jacked as RFK. I think I’m pretty good since I don’t do any TRT hopefully the type of work out I do helps me maintain my T-levels. Most everything I do is to failure. Plus I implemented one of the workouts you said will you hold the rep and really squeeze the muscle between 4 and 10 seconds before lowering slowly?
Bringing your levels back up to where you were when you were younger and staying healthy is a wonderful sound protocol! Kind of ridiculous to think otherwise.
Jeff! absolutely love your content - you inspired me to go full force* into the industry. However - the scapular “release” is the sticking point, not the chin over bar?

Great Video. Hey Jeff, how about developing programs and guidance for us older folk. RFK is inspiring on many levels. We're all different, what he does may not fit our ideals, budget... Personally, his track record of compassionate service and honesty of his dark life-story periods... stand out as exemplary. On the side, he's easily our best bet as POTUS 😊
I'm almost 68. Always frequented the gyms some. I feel I was blessed with some good genes from my parents. Both lived into their 80's and didn't Go naturally. I've been beatin up and broken, from wrecks and a multitude of accidents and having too much fun. Still working around injuries and exercising and eating some good foods. But enjoying some junk & booze in moderation too!!! Just enough TRT to keep my levels normal. No pot belly, no diabetes, no heart disease and I still enjoy playing with my attractive 5'3"/115lb wife. BUT... you have to want it. I want to just die Once, not every day. To me, it's worth it. But, this America, do what you want!!
Excellent comment. Congratulations! My husband and I are 66. We are rocking life: retired and traveling in an RV with our three dogs. No pharma, no docs. Eat ruminant meat and eggs twice per day. Looking good and feeling fine! We enjoy good wine, quality cigars and coffee (these are our only plants!).
If you are 50+ and have suboptimal testosterone levels…then TRT is a game changer. Some guys are just more deficient than others as they get older, and if you’re wanting to get in better shape as an older man…then TRT is a must
This was informative, thank you. I'm 67. I'm fit, but I don't look like RFK Jr. Mostly I cycle to stay fit. But I do some weight-training; my condo complex does have a decent weight room. Watching this, there are a few things I think I will tweak about my weight routine. I've become totally plant-based in my diet as I've aged to protect my heart. I don't county my macros religiously, but I do structure my basic diet around making sure I get the right amounts of protein, carbs and fat. I also roughly count my daily caloric intake, but I don't obsess about it. I don't take supplements nor buy into any de-aging schemes. I do take a popular brand of men's multivitamin daily. I try to do most of my eating in an 8 hour window, but it's not always possible. You are so right, Jeff, about allowing flexibility in your food intake routine to allow for social commitments. Don't become so rigid that you neglect other parts of your life. This is all working well for me. I'm healthy, feel great and am still very active.
It's inspiring that he's 70, and doing these workouts. I also appreciate that you (Jeff) are critiquing him honestly, because his form kind of sucks. I really wish he'd get in a couple of sessions with you, so you can set him straight. All in all, most 70 year olds wouldn't be at the gym at all. They might be speed walking or playing golf, but they're not doing intense exercises like RFK Rj. Kudos to him for what he's doing. It just....could be better.
He's right on with the best info out there for us older guys. Lighter weight and higher reps seen from that perspective his weight is not all that light and unbelievable with those pull-ups!

Keep going! It matters!

What are you talking about? Looks good for his age. He looks good for a 50-year-old. I mean let’s stop the nonsense.
You made a statement saying: “don’t ask what your wife can do for you, but ask yourself what you can do for your wife!”
I praise you Sir and I hope that you and your wife have a happy and fulfilling life together.
Thank you for sharing this story with us and please say hi to your wife for us and be so kind to wish her well.

Jeff! absolutely love your content - you inspired me to go full force* into the industry. However - the scapular “release” is the sticking point, not the chin over bar?
This was interesting, not a fan of RFK jr, but I’m 69 and can relate to to his attention to fitness to be able to enjoy life!
I enjoyed your insight Jeff as usual. Thanks
RFK is awesome in every aspect. Best candidate in generations.
Loved this video, I am 70 and can still do 50lb easy bar curls with proper form,,,fast up slow down. I mountain bike a lot,,,used to race, So legs I only do kettle squats now and then. But shoulders, chest and arms? I go all out for 30 to 40 minutes.
thank you for bringing a spotlight to RFK and I appreciate something refreshing and not a smear piece on who i believe might just be the best candidate to run for president in my lifetime #Kennedy24 🇺🇸
It turns out that he actually is doing what he says a friend of mine was traveling who’s at the gym in LA and he sent me a selfie with RFk from the gym. Another person said yeah I ran into RFk at a recovery meeting. He literally says he goes to meetings regularly and he goes to the gym regularly and here it is, a presidential candidate actually doing what they say. He has my vote, RFk Jr for president
GOD SPEED Mr Kennedy u look amazing good work
Great content. I work out a lot and I appreciate the comments about form. Don't care about RFK JR's workout regimen per se. I'm here to learn.
🇺🇸A President that promotes exercise, healthy diet of unprocessed foods and getting outdoors? That’s who inspires me! 🇺🇸Kennedy 2024🇺🇸
I'm 60 years old. I do all kinds of workouts. Usually two to three hours a day. Four days a week working with 160 to190lb bench press 12 sets of 8 to 12 reps and 5 to 7 with heaver sets. 35 lbs dumbbell, come bells and cable system. I've used a lot of your techniques and found them very helpful. Especially working to past failer. And how you do curls. Thanks for all your wisdom and great videos. I also take a lot of vitamins as well. Just starting to feel powerful.
Regards,
Harold

I'm 70, on TRT, just 60 mils twice a week. I work out 2 hours 6 days a week. Look 45 , most in the gym, think I'm a bodybuilder. 5' 7" 195lbs 13% body fat with clean diet. I don't say it to brag but to inspire others the possibilities.
Great Video. Hey Jeff, how about developing programs and guidance for us older folk. I’m 66 and am doing a few of your programs like Shred and Jacked that were really designed for mich younger people in mind. As I get older I realize I have to tone things done a bit to prevent injury and frankly, I don’t have the stamina I had at 30. It would be great to get professional advice from you on workout programs for seniors

I agree!
Some guys are just more deficient than others as they get older, and if you’re wanting to get in better shape as an older man…then TRT is a must
Dude is 70 years old and looks absolutely incredible.
I am not American, I am not in the US, even I would vote for this man. Wholeheartedly agreed on your points as well Jeff. All the best!
I’m voting for Kennedy because he’s the most fit inside and out. Huge respect for his policies.
😅
RFK is the man! Definitely inspiring.
He’s a beast. Love you man. God bless you !
RFK has my vote!
Rfk jr would be an amazing president!
WILL BE
Jeff's expression at the beginning of the video, lol.
