    I mistakenly put my elbows on our table at 50's. I was told to get them off the table which I did and my sister and I laughed because it reminded us of our Mom! Food was good and I can't wait to go back. Loved Sci-Fi as well and watching those movies while eating in a car. Pretty neat

    The meal at Sci-Fi Dine In was good, but my wife and I were not particularly happy with another couple being sat in our back seat. It made for a less comfortable atmosphere.

    Loved Ronto Roasters, the only issue I had (common at a lot of quick service places honestly) was people saving seats when they didn’t even have food yet. May seem like a good idea, but it seriously messed with the flow of people. In the time it took me to eat, tables were still waiting on food.

    I’ve gone to Disney world dozens of times, but somehow there’s still so many restaurants I had no idea existed!

    i was on a solo trip a few years ago and just walked up to the scifi drive in when they were opening. it was full, but they put me at one of the patio tables immediately and it was a great lunch/experience.

    Doing a 3 day disney world trip in august for my sons 5th birthday. I can’t wait. We’re doing Hollywood studios for our second day and got reservations for woodys roundup, my kid LOVES Toy Story and I’m probably more excited than him lol.

    We were just at Disney last week and ate at Roundup Rodeo. Fantastic food and the theming was a lot of fun.

    Brown Derby has the 2nd best filet in all of WDW, behind the restaurant in Canada in Epcot. Of course this was 20 years ago. Much has changed since then.

    Mama Melroses used to have great food and we were surprised this past May 2023 that the food quality is not terrible. Too bad 😢

    I go to SciFi for the Cookie Milkshake. I don't know anywhere else (DIsney or not) where I can get that. And the film is great nostalgia! If you're looking for a "good" restaurant, Brown Derby is the best! But I always order the same thing...

    As an older lady eating solo, I have these suggestions. First, Hollywood Brown Derby is, IMHO, one of the best restaurants on Disney property. Service is superb and they are very responsive to dietary restrictions. Hollywood and Vine is a great experience, if you love characters, for either breakfast or lunch/dinner. I do not have Disney+, don’t know anything about Disney Jr., but I really enjoyed interacting with the characters. And I personally very much enjoyed the dinner buffet! I’ve tried 50s Prime Time solo - never again. You must be with a group to enjoy this. I would also never eat at Rodeo Roundup because of the inescapable, in-your-face theming and reported high noise level. I’ve done Oga’s as a nondrinker who can also not have citrus (there was only one drink suitable for me), but I did enjoy the experience. Docking Bay 7: you’ll end up sitting at a counter overlooking the queue waiting to order, and I was so rushed by the server (the place was packed) that I could hardly taste the food. This was all on a February 2023 trip.

    Enjoyed the Brown Derby back in the day. Plus we got privileged seating for Phantasmic. We were on the meal plan, and it cost us double “tics”, but it was worth it.

    • @RLucas3000
      @RLucas3000 11 місяців тому

      Yep Brown Derby is signature which means two sit down dinner tics, each park and many hotels have one or more of those. Usually they are worth it, and since Cali Grill is not quite as good as it used to be, Brown Derby is just one of the best. It’s really high end but still incredibly approachable! And the meal plan is (finally!) back next year!

  • @GrassJelly101
    @GrassJelly101 10 місяців тому +1

    Excited to try Hollywood Brown Derby, Roundup Rodeo, and Baseline Taphouse in Sept! 🥳 Heard nothing but praise for HBD from family. Hollywood & Vine was actually such a wonderful experience all around! I was surprised at the quality of the food (meats were great!), all the cast member ladies who served us were soo sweet, and the characters were incredible at interacting multiple times with members of our table! Pluto and Mickey were especially mischievous and messed around with the adults sitting on the outside seats that day lol! The Halloween theming was such fun, and the whole restaurant did a Halloween chant every so often.
    A few other HS foodie experiences:
    - Mama Melrose's was also a surprisingly delightful and cosy dinner, and I recall the desserts being notably delectable.
    - Sci-Fi Drive-In was very fun on theming though I think the commercials and shorts looped at least twice in the duration of our meal. Our waitress was very kind, and the diner-themed food is better than what most people make it out to be (read: a step above mediocre).
    - Quick service and snacks: Ronto Roasters is a tradition every time, and Woody's is cute with decent eats but a bit of a rough time given the limited seating and shade. Carrot cake whoopie pie and Wookie Cookie are worth the hype, blueberry waffles at Hollywood Scoops for breakfast hit the spot and are pillowy soft, and don't ever sleep on the cream cheese and cheddar jalapeño stuffed pretzels from the pretzel cart by Rock 'n Rollercoaster! The blackberry moonshine lemonade from Sunshine Day Bar and Cold Brew Black Caf from Kat Saka's are so tasty and a great energy boost on a hot day.
    - Edit: I forgot Oga's. Go for the fun vibes and cute DJ 😉 Fuzzy Tauntaun was overhyped, but Jedi Mind Trick was a sleeper hit! Everything else was mediocre.

    Excited to see this video! I'm planning a 2024 trip and I have plans for the other three parks, but it's so hard to decide what to do at Hollywood Studios. Last time I went, I ended up leaving in the late evening to eat at Disney Springs, but my family is very interested in Fantasmic so I kind of want to do one of the Fantasmic dining packages

    Mama Melrose was ok, I wouldn’t go back. 50s Prime Time was tasty but our server didn’t get into character but the atmosphere was fun. Sci-Fi was ok, the kids loved it but I didn’t really care for it, we’re a party of 4 so I didn’t like how we weee not all facing each other. Im going again around Christmas this year and we plan on doing Hollywood & Vine for the characters and Hollywood Brown Derby.

    My family and I did a staycation (live close to Disneyworld) the first week of June at Riverside. We dined at Woody’s roundup BBQ. The BBQ was good, as was the biscuits and pepper jam. The salads were ok, I would have liked a different dressing than green goddess on the lettuce salad, waiter said it tasted like ranch (I despise ranch dressing, even the smell). We ordered 4 of the 8 sides available, two were great, two were not. The potato salad had just the right herbs and flavor, the street corn was a fantastic surprise of flavor. The baked beans were meh, the Mac & Cheese was no flavor. My daughter loves Mac & Cheese and hated this. We had great Mac & Cheese a few days later at Biergarten in Epcot. The deserts at Woody’s were decent. Had the Apple pie, would have been perfect if served warm. Also had the lemon, blueberry cheesecake, the flavoring didn’t need the lemon, the blueberry and cheesecake was better. If I go again I would try at least two different sides and keep two.

    I got a wookie cookie back in sept 2022 and it was terrible!! I was so sad. The cookie was dry and crumbly and hard as a rock and the frosting was also dry and did not taste natural. So sad. Maybe it was a fluke just that one time.

    The last time I went, 50s Prime Time was the most disappointing meal we had. Our server didn't bother to role play at all beyond introducing themselves as our cousin. The food wasn't "bad," but the experience is what elevates that one.

    Went to Disney for the first time a few weeks ago and The Brown Derby had some rude hostess! I’m not sure why they lied about the wait time when it said 10min on the app, they said 45 minutes and we said we would wait and they seemed frustrated and seated us within 5 minutes 🤷‍♂️ like, why?
