After some time to mull over this video, I decided to give my own personal input on Kobe Bryant, and the impact he's had on my life. I'd be lying to you if I said I was the biggest Kobe fan in the world, because that just wouldn't be true. Regardless, Kobe was what got me into basketball. I didn't start watching basketball until around 2014, so unfortunately, I never got to see Kobe Bryant at his best. But by far the most fond memory I have of Kobe was when I got to watch the end of his final game against the Utah Jazz. Even though I followed the NBA, I rarely found myself watching alot of the games live. I had completely forgotten the game was being played. It wasn't until I was scrolling through on my cable box to see "NBA Basketball", featuring the Los Angeles Lakers and the Utah Jazz. I then remembered that Kobe was playing his last game tonight, and that the Warriors were also playing for their 73rd win. For basketball it's difficult for me to watch two games at once, because there's not alot of points where the game stops for extended periods of time like football. I had a decision to make, and after about 10 seconds of thinking things over, I decided to watch the Lakers vs Jazz game. I flipped it on to see that the Lakers were losing with about 4 minutes left in the game. I contemplated switching, but then decided to keep watching because I knew I'd never get the chance to see Kobe play live again. I kept watching and sat on the floor about 5 feet in front of the TV thinking that Kobe would come through and will the Lakers to a win like he had done so many times in the past. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. I remember jumping around and laughing and clapping when Kobe hit the jumpshot that gave the Lakers the lead, and smiling from ear to ear when Kobe gave his farewell speech. I won't claim to be a die hard Kobe fan who watched every game and bought all the gear as so many did, and to those people, I'm sure the pain of losing one of the NBA's greats hurt them alot more than it hurt me. However, Kobe's death greatly impacted me because his work ethic and passion for the game was something I aspired to match when doing what I loved, and the positive impact he had on the game and people's lives is something we can all respect. Rest in peace, Mamba. My next paper ball shot into a wastebasket will be for you.
Agreed basketball will never be the same with Kobe gone Kobe made the lakers he could have played one last game but we still got Michel Jordan he is the next best thing but never better than Kobe Kobe tops Jordan in my opinion mamba out Kobe’s famous words that we will remember him by and his amazing skill let number 24 and number 8 live forever in the hall of fame and in heaven with Kobe 🥺😥
What a goat Kobe was and still is Kobe we miss you mamba forever
