Claudio, amazing job on interview, editing and simulations. I can't get enough of this series!! I'm hoping you can do more with Dennis after last album he designed..maybe some other artwork like posters..tour books. I've never seen the original mock up of COTN cover that Dennis made..and the question about the children's book is much appreciated!! Ty again Claudio and Dennis!!
Great interview about the making of the Creatures Of The Night cover. One thing I was surprised to learn was that the 85 reissue the back cover was a woman's ass in the leather pants and not Gene Simmons' ass. I read somewhere before people were claiming it was Gene on the back cover. I'm glad to hear that it was a woman's ass
I love this series, thank you! One thing I never quite understood about the Creatures cover art is that Ace's and Paul's chins were cut off, while Eric's face dominates the cover.
30:41 that's why I came for. I asked him about it in your previous video, but in the end it makes sense that two people had the same idea based on the same inspiration, even on the pink color for all the lettering.
Fantastic interview. Great work settling the children’s book debate. Loved hearing Dennis’ input on that. He has a great outlook. Such a fun guy. Awesome talent. Great video and discussion. Thank you for sharing this. 🔥
Claudio, this is another amazing episode! And what a great guy Dennis is.. with every anekdote there’s something new around the corner.. Oh yeah and tomorrow going to frame your beautiful ‘Masskissteria’ artwork 🙌🏼
Note the boardroom pics at 8:02 featuring Flo and Eddie (Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan). Judging from the Age of those two and Aucoin, this must have been around the 1976 era.
Interesting. Enjoyed this, Claudio. "Creatures" is one of my favorite KISS albums (also my first concert) and I always loved the cover. Thanks for the insight into its creation. BTW, I always thought the title was taken from a 1930s movie of some sort? Hope you're well - Dave
Great episode. Paul always wanted to make changes. Look at his hair in the cover photo as compared to the dome-like hair he has on the Loudest Band poster. Just like the Rock and Roll Over cover changes.
I wondered why they didn't make the actual eyes glow in the dark on the cover (like they did on the recent reissue), I'm guessing just because of budget reasons, but I wonder if that was ever originally talked about? Also I don't know if he was being sarcastic saying "not much to say" about Lick It Up, but that cover has been debated by Kiss fans for years as to whose hand belongs to who, who is wearing a wig, if Vinnie's head is on a mannequin body, etc. There's all kinds of weird stuff going on there. Plus the weird Japanese cover with the Elder photos that they put out
I would have asked also about the pink lettering & logo since I heard there's some controversy about it... as far as I know, it was supposed to be in another colour but turned out that way (just like RUSH's debut album)... anyways, great job Claudio, as always! As a Kiss freak, I enjoy this serie very much...
What always bugged me about KISS album sleeves was that the back covers were always anticlimactic - no extra images of the band. For a kid desperate for every last picture, this always felt like I was being short changed......
Line up these KISS songs. Creatures of the Night Killer Dark Light Mr Blackwell Keep Me Comin' I love it Loud Danger Saint and Sinner Escape From The Island War Machine and listen to them as you look at the original Creatures of the Night album cover. You get a better rockin album and brings sensibility to Ace being on the cover. Just pretend The Elder doesn't exist.
Why are KISS fans not watching? this should have 10 million views.
Spread the word! :)
Best interview series!
I'm watching !
Unaware even I stumbled on this channel
Dennis is great
Well I only found the channel 3 days ago
Dennis is such a character! awesome guy!
Yes, he is. He is a good storyteller.
This album is the perfect storm from top to bottom.
20:35 Eric wearing one of Ace’s 77 leotards.
I never noticed that. Good one.
Eric's also wearing Ace's underrwear...
At last! I was religiously waiting for this one! Awesome job, as usual. 🙏🏼
the Next one won't take that long
These are great!!
First view, because this gets the _Fonz Seal of Approval_
I never knew these interviews existed until I heard Eddie Trunk talking about it on his radio show last week, 6/24
One of, if not the best KISS Album ever! Very interesting Facts

🤠 Thank you. This is one of my favorite UA-cam series. Always enjoyable and informative.

Dennis should write a book!
Awesome! Can’t wait to watch! 🤟🏻🔥

Diana Ross shadow profile during the cover shot..awesome stuff!
Some great photos here and stories. Nice.

I think he actually saw that children’s ‘creatures of the night’ book and forgot he saw it
Best Kiss album (music and cover art)

I would have loved to know the reason for the pink logo and type - or did I miss it? It always struck me as an odd choice.
My fave Kiss album. Always thought the title track would be great as part of the soundtrack to the Lost Boys.
I would have asked also about the pink lettering & logo since I heard there's some controversy about it... as far as I know, it was supposed to be in another colour but turned out that way (just like RUSH's debut album)... anyways, great job Claudio, as always! What is the intro song to this video with Paul Stanley singing?
it's "KLASSIK ’78" not paul stanley! a band that makes music that sounds just like KISS in the 70s!
I really liked this series, sometimes it’s hard for me to know if they are on the same page most of the time😂
I don't recall the album coming with a poster
What always bugged me about KISS album sleeves was that the back covers were always anticlimactic - no extra images of the band. For a kid desperate for every last picture, this always felt like I was being short changed......
Line up these KISS songs.
Creatures of the Night

he definitely stole the art from the book. 100% fact.
