22:30 Paul _always_ has one foot in a weird position, going back to the Dressed To Kill cover! Once you notice it you’ll never unsee it, he literally does it every single time he’s being photographed.
I was 11 when it came out and thought the cover was cool. I still like it. It made a lot of sense when also seeing live shots in Hit Parader and Circus of the animal print stage costumes.
Love it. He doesn't give himself enough credit. It was quite the sight back then. Also love how the title was created. Very cool and brought back memories...
This was great!! I am a HUGE fan of PIPER, especially the 2nd album. Knowing Dennis' sister came up with that cool logo is a fun fact to know. Thank you! Also, cool that he gives credit to Pam Shapiro, the photographer. Wonder where she is today.
Love this series 🤘🏼 The music videos have come up a few times, and it doesn't sound like Dennis had anything to do with them. Might be an interesting expansion to this series to interview the folks who helped make those videos or even the VHS releases.
The Animalize era was more "Vanhalenize" for Kiss in both image and sound, while for Asylum they went crazy with the drag look, even looking as gypsys on drag for the photoshoots.
Would love to know the process of getting the Animalize lettering onto the cover. I assume they took a somewhat large format photo of the paper towel and then cut out the logo with scissors? Then slapped that onto the photo of the animal prints and took another photo?
I could never tell if the top was supposed to be black fur or not. It looked like they just laid 3 pieces of fur on a black table and it wasn't centered
@@denniswoloch5757 Dennis, I thought you said in a previous interview with Claudio that for Animalize you were invoking the solo album concept with 4 different animal patterns, but there are only 3 on Animalize. (Maybe Mark St. John hadn’t earned his, umm, stripes yet!? 😉).
Amen brother. Take the songs VV was working on for this album (that became VVI) and you may have had a four or five platinum album. We’ll never know. It would have been better than the garbage Gene crapped out that’s for sure!

🤠 such a good series . always happy to see a new chapter. Here we go...
Dennis is wrong; this cover is terrific! Thanks for the fascinating interview. Never knew about that costume designer.

This is one of the albums that I do remember when I was growing up. And it's because of the front cover.
Another great episode. I like the cover and a real interesting fact about the KISS marionettes too🤟
I really appreciate you and Dennis doing these, love it!
I as well love the cover, AND the back cover. Well done Dennis, and thank you both for this terrific interview!
As always, this gets the _Fonz Seal Of Approval_
Fantastic, as always Claudio and Dennis!
Another amazing episode, thanks guys!!

Yet another excellent episode! Great job, guys!
I love that cover
I love this series, thanks to you and Dennis for the inside information in depth!
Such great videos I always look forward to new ones. Please do one on the creation of the kiss army logo. I would love to hear the story.
There's a little bit of that on Chapter 2 if I'm not mistaken
@@ClaudioBergaminArt awesome thanks
Totally dig it! Love to see you guys talk about these album covers! ☺️
I think the Animalize script/logo is excellent.
Conceptually this cover works extremely well with the music of the time. I think Dennis had a nice trio of covers from COTN to Animalize
I love these!! Thanks Sergio!! :)

Another great show! I always wondered about that back cover. It did seem plain to me as well.
Always found this cover disappointing. Have been looking forward to hearing about it. Entertaining as always. Nice job guys.
These are great videos. 👍 when is the Asylum one coming out?
Soon
Asylum is coming out on monday
Great Channel, keep it up!

I left a blank spot for the logo and title.
@@denniswoloch5757 I thought the artwork was great. A lot better than The Elder or Asylum!
It would make a OK cover.. but no regrets.@@andresassi526

What's the name of the opening tune
What could have been...
If Vinnie and Michael James Jackson were fully on board...

It went just the way it should go.

Sorry this cover did not do much for me,but I am mainly just original band fan.
