More drummers need to learn the art of playing worship (like this) building up, not chopping every 2 seconds, letting the other instruments talk, and choosing your spots to "go wild". One of the things I don't like about new school drummers is that they are not musical, but this brother always has the right balance, at the end of the day we are worshippers, our job is not to bring attention to the drums, but to create an atmosphere of worship. Keep doing what you're doing Bro!

This is how worship should be played by the drummer. More pocket and less chops. Ive seen drummers go crazy on Total praise and I couldn't do anything but shake my head because that's not a dong you chop on. Pocket is needed more with today's drummers. What they dont understand is that the pocket is the meat 🍖 and potatoes 🥔 of the beat and chops are just icing on the cake. Chops are nice and always fun to do, but pocket is what's going to get you the gigs and get you noticed by other not pulling out every chop and fill in your arsenal in the middle of a worship song.
