I guess using the flower stitch foot would be easier with a front-loading bobbin machine if you wanted to match top and bottom threads! My One Plus came with this foot but I haven't learned to use it. All my machines are low shank so I could use it on any of them.

want to finally use this 2 months after getting used to my machine, to repair holes in 2 sleeping bags, decoratively. Dunno what I am doing but any hints on sewing repair on a sleeping bag (I was going to first use darning approach and drop dogs) but I don't know about limitations of specific threads and needles. Any advice any one?

Hi Barbara, Darning should work for you. All purpose thread and a heavy duty needle are probably the best choices.

@@SingerSewingCompany thank you it worked just fine but a few times the poly filling got stuck and I got lots of loops underneath. Its ok, I washed both bags and they are on the line now, in the Florida breeze and sunshine. Thanx for your encouraging help. I was wondering if you can tell me if the heavy duty machine would have worked much better, is there a wider spread under the foot? I could barely get the fabric under there. I wish the foot could stay put in the higher position for such things. Any hints on working with dense fabrics would I be better off adding a heavy duty machine for such things, which I do a lot of like making a drape out of an old embroidered tablecloth and such?

"it's so much easier with the button foot".
Can attach a button by hand in 5 minutes, give up trying to do it with the machine after failing for half an hour.
Maybe the instructions for my 2282 are wrong, it says to set the stitch width to 0 as well as the stich length.

Hi! For sewing on buttons, you will cover your feed teeth so your stitch length doesn't matter (if you are unable to cover or lower your feed teeth, then length should be 0). Your stitch width is around 3.0-3.5 (test with the hand wheel first!). Hopefully that helps. Once you know the proper settings, it does go a lot faster on the machine!

@@SingerSewingCompany tried it again and got it to work, after quite a bit of frustration. For some reason the first several times it wouldn't move the needle sideways at all.

Not enough on the flower foot. Too much other stuff. Way too much talking without showing. You did cover everything.
Recommend changing the title of the video. To Things to get ready to use the flower stitching foot.

Why are you using a shrunken screen format? So confining plus its backward presentation is very disorienting. More examples less talk would be more professional despite you are delightful but a lot of time wasted chit chat level.
