Great video David!!!! I started our first round of breaking brood cycles this past Sunday. Got my other screen bottom board on. I had to order more press in queen cages from Amazon cause your store was out of them. I have 2 quart jars of rain water out in community feeders, a pollen powder community feeder, and 5 gallon bucket community feeder with HBH, Amino B, and pollen powder, 1:1. My 3 colonies are emptying that bucket every 24hours!!!!! I also have all 3 colonies with top feeders same mixture and they are emptying them every 2 days. All I get done is feeding every night I get home from work. Then I go in and get one lesson of your ultimate class done a night! It’s an awesome time. Everyone needs to take your classes, you cover SO MUCH MORE in your class. It’s mind blowing 🤯! Thank you for all that you do for us. Can’t wait for the next coffee time ☕️ have a blessed day!

    Hi David,
I am Lynn from NJ. I have been watching several of your videos a day. I love them YOU ARE teaching us so much. Thank you!! Our Nuc is just 13 days here. We were blessed to get the Nuc from a from a sellers personal hive nice and strong! She texted me today ( carrs about my son whom has autism and he loves bees) and said she is making a beautiful and even better Nuc. Matth will be volunteering at her bee farm. I have placed the screened botyom board in, they have a beautiful umbrella ( everyone jokes that they look like they are enjoying a vacation on the islands😂we placed quaters on the inner top board for a bit of ventilation. I was taken on a top feeding board its not cut right so i am giving sugar water in their water stations and fondue inside. I was afraid it woukd melt but it actually hardened in the heat. I need a top feeding board terribly as my girls have a late start. I need to do the sugar dusting. We love them. New bee keepers, no stings yet and its bern hot! I have to go to the hospital i hurt myself so ill be watching from there! God Bless❤️

i use a screened inner cover, with a 1/4-1/2 lift on either end to increase airflow under the outer cover.
it has the same upper entrance hole as with a regular inner cover. screened bottom/screened top.
helps with evaporating nectar too. use when summer days are above 85 degrees. honey supers on.

It's been so hot and dry here in SE Colorado that even the little creek behind the hive has dried up. I better get a watering project done asap. I also need to add a top shade to the top of the hive as well. I made a west side shade board for them but who doesn't like more shade.

Thanks David for the tips. If you have 1st year nucs that your leaving a super on for resources, do you take the super off while you are feeding them to get to the fall flow? I ask because if you feed during the dearth with the super on won’t there be syrup in the super when you get ready to harvest the honey the following year?

This is my first year at bees. I have a hive that was doing great Queen was laying last month there were eggs and lots of caped brood. Did an inspection yesterday there's still some caped brood but no eggs. The Hive is from a swarm from late May. I live just outside of Jefferson Texas temperatures have been in triple digits for the last 2 to 3 weeks. When it started getting hot I put a feed box on top with the lid on an angle and the entrance is wide open so no bearding has happened. The queen is a large Golden Queen very healthy looking, so my question is why would she stop laying? They are in a 10 frame deep box the box is 80% full so I put a honey super on last month.

David, greetings from South Carolina. At the 7:15 mark you mention protein powder mixed in with your syrup. Are you talking about mixing pollen sub in with the syrup? Have never heard about it and was wondering. We're past our honey collection time and are pretty much into our dearth period although I am seeing some pollen coming in from something that 's blooming. I'm doing an open feeding on 9 colonies and top feeding 3 nucs and one weaker hive. We do have small hive beetle issues down here now and that's why I'm not doing any patties. Would like to have some idea of how much you might add into a 5 gallon bucket of syrup. Thanks.
