Thank you - rebuilding a Vita (the one you are able to divert all pump power into one jet.......) everything new - worked out plumbing issues - yes 230 volt - two wire - struggled with hookup to board - this helped a great deal most importantly - SAFE.....I have a “flo” code on topside - (removed filter - remained - however- it goes away when other pump engages - guessing I have the pumps mixed up on the board ? Best thanks
I have an old 40 amp A/C disconnect that is not used anymore, and contains only 2 hot wires and a ground. I want to swap out the disconnect box with a 40 amp spa GFCI breaker panel. So I would have no neutral. Sounds like if I found a dedicated 40 amp, 220V hot tub and wired it up, the GFCI breaker panel would still work in that application and provide a safe hot tub. Am I correct? Can you still buy a GFCI 4 wire style panel and just not use the pigtail nor the neutral bus? Thank you for the videos!
Thank you for the videos I have a brand new Sundance 680 model with 3 wire connectors my question Do I need a GFCI ? DO I NEED TO RUN WHITE CABLE FROM THE MAIN BOX TO THE GFCI ?
Hello Mr spa guy! I need your help ! I have a pool water heater is a 220v and has 4 wires to connect 3 reds ( label as I red, II red, III red.) and one blue. How should I connect it to my circuit breaker? If I have 1 black, one red and one white. Thank you God bless.
I have a 220-240v motor with a BLUE, BROWN and GREEN wire. I know green is ground but does it matter how the other two are hooked up as long as one is high speed terminal?
Those are not normal wire colors in the USA but there is no polarity on motors so either wire is fine.. You can trace the colors and see which one is white at the board and use it for the common connection if you wanted to..
Question on wiring 3 wire 220v Jacuzzi tub. I'm getting conflicting info and need a clear answer. I understand Jacuzzi is a dedicated 3 wire per manufacturer however how do I wire to a gfi disconnect without a neutral. Code says I need a gfi disconnect within sight of tub. An electrician friend tells me to run 50a gfi disconnect, pull 4 #6's from main to disconnect, 2 hots to hot lugs, neutral to neutral lug and ground to ground bar. GFI pigtail to neutral bar with #6 neutral from gfi breaker to ground lug on tub, not connecting ground between disconnect & tub as will cause nuisance tripping. If I run a ground between disconnect and tub and no neutral how does gfi work without a signal, my mind says don't drop ground, but at the same time how does gfi get its signal without the 4th wire. I have seen your explanation with capping the neutral but no one shows or explains what to do with the neutral at the disconnect side. Who is right, who is wrong as it's all about safety. Please help me understand, thanks..
I have had many inspectors say you must have a GFCI but you are right it does not function as a GFCI without the Neutral hooked up.. You would simply wire it normally from the house breaker to the GFCI Box using 6-3 with a ground.. Then from the GFCI to the tub I would still run 4 wires using 6-3 with a ground. You would simply wire nut the white wire at the tub.. I would run 4 strands so if you ever changed the tub or retrofitted you would have everything you need..
Hey spa guy I got a question. I feel like my red wire is getting too hot right at the terminal strip, it’s 120 on each leg but seems like the red side is just hotter. So much so that it appears like it melting the plastic that the terminal is mounted on and lightly smokes after about ten 10mins. Could it be that terminal strip is bad ? Thanks
Spa Guy thank you! I ordered a new terminal. I was thinking maybe not a good enough ground somewhere along line. Just remembering that the screw was loose on the lug when I went to remove it, and the thread was stripped on that input side. Thanks again hot this does the job.
I have a 240 V pump newly wired and it keeps tripping the GFCI in the panel with a error code Psol Do I leave the white ground wire capped? There is a note in the panel saying for a 240V wire Blue wire to the red, where do I wire the red? I think my electrician did the wrong wiring. I need this information for him
So then what about the gfci? Doesn’t that need a neutral? How do you wire it in this case?

All vids very informative
Thank you for the videos I have a brand new Sundance 680 model with 3 wire connectors my question
Do I need a GFCI ?
DO I NEED TO RUN WHITE CABLE FROM THE MAIN BOX TO THE GFCI ?
You need a neutral from your house to the breaker not to the spa from the breaker for sundance/jacuzzi
I understand it that this means the gfci breaker isnt going to be working.
Can you show a picture of how this is wired in the subpanel gfci breaker box? Thanks

So would it actually be gfi protected
Thanks for the information...just wanna to be sure....thanks again...
Can you explain the jumper wire when using 60 amp breaker

That lug is loose or loose and damaged .. It needs to be tightened if good and replaced if not..

Is the light 💡 240??
The transformer is 240 and it converts the light output to 12v..
