ABOUT IRON MAIDEN:
Iron Maiden are an institution. Over the course of six decades they have come to embody a spirit of fearless creative independence, ferocious dedication to their fans, and a cheerful indifference to their critics that’s won them a following that spans every culture, generation, and time-zone. A story of gritty determination and courageous defiance of the naysayers, theirs has been an adventure like no other.
The band’s immense discography includes the studio albums ‘The Number Of The Beast’, ‘Piece Of Mind’, ‘Powerslave, ‘Somewhere In Time’, ‘Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son’, ‘Fear Of The Dark’, ‘The Final Frontier’ and ‘The Book Of Souls’ which have spawned many classic hits as ‘The Trooper’, ‘Wasted Years’, ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’, ‘Wasting Love’, ‘Run To The Hills’, ‘Aces High’, ‘Rime Of The Ancient Mariner’ and ‘2 Minutes to Midnight’.

Back in days, I was too young to appreciate Blaze's work. Nowadays, I am truly enjoying this Iron Maiden era.
so underrated, he was cool though
Blaze, excellant singer between 1994 to 1999 with Iron Maide. Only Iron Maiden' true fans will recognize this masterpiece
Blaze is a master ! He helped Maiden to improve their style ! Since those two albums, the formule starting the song slow and then punchy come from Blaze era. In my opinion no one can sound better than Blaze when it is about singing all the songs from the X factor. Respect to Blaze !
@@t7pdtdyfulll287 okay Boomer everybody have his own opinion 😏 but let me tell something. You and I are internet warriors and he is a world famous singer 😁
Blaze did nothing of that. He was great but the band didn't progress during almost 10 years. I love this album, even more than the Fear of the Dark but Virtual XI is not that great.
@@mikatu Everybody has his on opinion 😁 the band didn't progress because "true" fans are to weak when you change a little bit their routine 😂
what?
A briefcase, a lunch, and a man on the edge...........that line is stuck in my brain forever.
Dunno why Blaze gets so much hate. True, he's not as operatic as Dickinson, but he nailed it here! Kind of like Di'Anno's guttural sound and Dickinson's operatic style molded into one!
+Bill Day (Zintok5) Yep. There's a reason Steve chose him. I'm sure he could have chose somebody that was a Dickinson imitator and that's what most fans would have preferred, but that's Steve. He's always done it his way, no compromises. The big reason that he's one of my top musical heroes:)
I think the biggest difference for me in the Blaze years was that Adrian was gone. The songwriting just ain't the same without him. They had some good ones though. I just saw the acoustic version of Blood Brothers with Blaze and holy shit it's good. Blaze would have been ridiculous on that album.
Who? Steve Harris. I agree with you. A lot of people can go ahead and call Steve an a--hole and say he's arrogant until the cows come home. But if it weren't for him being strict about what he wants out of Maiden, this band would not be as successful as they are. I know Paul Di'Anno used to call him "Sergeant Major Harris" because he was supposedly bossy. I have to admit that Steve is an awesome bass player. And an overall awesome guy in general. I checked out some of the stuff he did with that project of his, British Lion. Not too bad :D
Bill Day the reason he gets so much hate is because people compare him to Paul and Bruce which both have very unique sounds that work with the band so when people keep comparing him they don't enjoy the songs he did good with
Adam Youdell also y Paul left
Holy shit, I only just realised that this song is about the movie Falling Down...epic
You're not alone.
I had read about that on a Wikipedia article!
great movie! great song anyway!
The other tracks are also about movies 👋😉
It was unfair all the things that fans done with blaze. he is an incredible singer and deserves our respect
Yea, i still dont get the hatred for the poor fella hes such a great singer, i rlly love his voice the dude can sing. Sure he may not be bruce but he wanted to go solo, it was his choice and they picked blaze for that reason, they liked his voice and made him their singer for those albums.
It was for food. Now his band is one of the bests and has many good albums. The man who would not die is one that I hear almost every day and I can't get enough
There are different types of iron maiden fans, some like it when things change in the band and like the different eras, etc... but, you know, alot of people, when they like something ALOT, what they wat is just more of the "same thing".
I would like to apologize to Blaze for my lack of interest in 90s...he was great
It is naver too late to apolpgize this song an this to albums with Blaze is good
It is normal, we humans used to reject something we dont know ! After we realize that is good ! Me too !!! Try to listen Virus... now I think it is awesome also !
Yea I didn't wanna hear songs with blaze in coz he was not good as bruce, even tho i never heard blaze's songs before. I did the same thing 5 year old me did with ronnie james dio, i bashed the dude and refused to listen to him. I gotta stop doing that!
@DJ Virus is perfect with Blaze as all the songs of his albums. Period.
Me too.
"I lost my job. Actually I didn't lose it. It lost me. I'm overeducated, underskilled-Maybe it's the other way around. I forget-but I'm obsolete. I'm not economically viable. I can't even support my own kid."
No one asked
@@jonathantromp7270 It was a reference lol.
@@orhunkars9017 From what?
@@TheOnlyHollywood1 The movie 'Falling Down'.
@@jonathantromp7270 Don't worry, I asked him.
This lyrics of this song is based on the movie "Falling Down"..
One of the best movies ever!
Lol really
Pretty good movie
Never would have got that, he barely mentioned it
Genious
I wish Iron Maiden could make more songs like this, short and speedy
I agree. Now as they' ve aged, we cannot await an energy like this...but it would be great.
Yeah. All the songs now are way too long
I agree but their last album still kicked ass!
Not gonna find it on the newer albums bud
Kind of like be quick or be dead
Maiden is Maiden no matter what. Regardless of a singer, guitarist or drummer. They are all extremely talented and all of their albums display it.
Could Not Have Said It Better Myself 😈😈
I love that album
Its not the best album, but its not the worst either. This song is one of my favs!
Yup, Blaze is not Bruce, but no one is. He did a great job, love his band and his solo work.
Indeed. In fact there's only one single singer in the history of rock music that I rank higher than Bruce even though Bruce is my favourite- That is Ronnie James Dio :)
it's certainly better than most of NPFTD and VXI
👌
I'm starting to wonder if this band have a worst album haha
Bruce will always be THE Iron Maiden singer, but blaze co-wrote this and Paul Dianno co-wrote remember tomorrow, these guys don’t get enough credit for their years in the band
wkr64691 THAT comment I completely agree with, to be perfectly honest I think Di'Anno gets tremendous credit for his time in Maiden but Blaze never does, although I think he made a giant impact to their music, and so many masterpieces were written and performed during his era, and I for one just love his albums in the Maiden !!!
I would say Di'Anno gets tremendous love for songs like Wrathchild, Killers, Remember Tomorrow, Sanctuary Iron Maiden and quite a few others.. Blaze sadly gets maybe a few songs like Clansman.. Futureal, Sign of the Cross and Blood on the World's hands.. I could be wrong of course, but those are the ones I think of when I think of great songs by those singers.
Both singers are Phenomenal and have had amazing contributions to Iron Maiden. I'm greatful for both. Nothing but the best to both.
Awful song
@@ΣπύροςΑ-β5ο Awful taste.
First two albums are my favorites.
Just met Blaze two days ago, incredible person and so down to earth. Put on an unbelievable show and sounds better than ever. If you’re a huge fan of X Factor and Virtual 11, PLEASE go catch him on his tour. He does a free meet greet and plays some amazing originals along with the beautifully dark songs he did with Maiden 💪
I've been to see him twice now. Such an amazing singer and person. The venues he plays at are usually small, but he gives it his all every time. He even came up to me to shake my hand and thank me for coming as I arrived to the venue, like I was the important one there. Had a nice chat with the man at meet and greet as well. Talk about appreciating the fans.
THIS is metal in all its glory, the punch, thrill and raw edge....and NOBODY brings the heat like theese guys NOBODY..!!!
The freeway is jammed and it's backed up for miles
The car is an oven and baking is wild
Nothing is ever the way it should be
What we deserve we just don't get you see
A briefcase, a lunch and a man on the edge
Each step gets closer to losing his head
Is someone in heaven are they looking down
'Cause nothing is fair just you look around
Falling down
He's sick of waiting of lying like this
There's a hole in the sky for the angels to kiss
Branded a leper because you don't fit
In the land of the free you just live by your wits
Once he built missiles a nation's defence
Now he can't even give birthday presents
Across the city he leaves in his wake
A glimpse of the future a cannibal state
Falling down
The freeway is jammed and it's backed up for miles
The car is an oven and baking is wild
Nothing is ever the way it should be
What we deserve we just don't get you see

Is someone in heaven are they looking down
'Cause nothing is fair just you look around

Yeah... Just like the movie.
@@imaouima One Bad Day...
Is baking wild though?
Interesting how the video makers decided to start wishing for 9/11 instead of bothering to cover the subject matter of the song.
"Across the city he leaves in his wake, a glimpse of the future, a cannibal state" is an amazing line
Most underrated Maiden album? I think so.
Totally agree with you
+Timi niemensivu most underrated vocalist
This and No Prayer for The Dying
+Fiendster7
Well, I'll say this: you can't say Blaze didn't leave _something_ for us during his tenure with Maiden.
+Fiendster7 I think X-Factor is an amazing album, not a single dud song on it.
I love the "X-Factor" album and Blaze is fucking amazing!!
It was this song that introduced me to the movie Falling Down back many many years ago.
Michael Douglas should star in this clip...
pq? kkkkk
Have you guys listened the new song of Blaze "War within me"? Like it almost as much as MOTE 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Falling Down is such a wicked movie, And this is an awesome song.
"Think about it."
It took some time (years), but when The X Factor clicked on me, it was amazing. The fast songs, I always loved, but the slower ones, never caught my attention, until one day, when I decide to sit through the whole album in one play. Then I started to obsessively listen to the album, any chance I got in my routine. Great album, underrated for sure.
The most underrated Iron Maiden song ever.
This, and, “The Virus..”
The Blaze era 🤘🏼
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh after many years !
I think this song should be staple on greatest hits albums by Maiden 🤘🏼
We all should thank Blaze Bayley for this album and for being around when Bruce wasn't. Thank you Mr. Bayley
Underrated, forgotten, hidden jewel in their discography.......the X-Factor is a MASTERPIECE, UNIQUE and LEGENDARY ...
Never heard of it but i heard no prayer for the dying (their most hated album) but i rlly loved NPFTD im gonna give this album a shot and see if i find any hidden gems in it to add to my playlist, coz if i love NPFTD then i may like this one! Plus i think blaze is a good singer sure he may not be brucey in anyway but to me, blaze is kinda like the brian johnson of Iron Maiden ppl hated him but theres some who love him
Great song, catchy
X-Factor one of the best Iron Maiden albums!
if not the best ...
#1 for me
This song is fucking great man, a shame fans were too blind by their buthurtness to enjoy it. Then again I started liking Maiden when Bruce had already gone back to Maiden, that's probably why I really don't mind the Blaze era
Even if Bruce is the best singer for Maiden, Blaze contributed two killer albums. Sign of the Cross is one of the best Maiden songs and anyone who disagrees i say fuck you
I first got into Iron Maiden the year before Brave New World came out but I didn't actually know about the Blaze Bayley era until 5 years ago
What a song and what a movie. I relate a little bit too much to that movie...
Blaze just owns this song.
I don't know how any true Iron Maiden fan can hate this song 🤘🏼
Cool fact: Blaze was definitely hurt by the criticism from a lot of the IM fan base. Bruce later learned of this. As the years went by, Bruce would often call Blaze up and offer words of encouragement.
Up the Irons!!!!!
É isso aí meu amigo! Não importa o cantor,e sim a obra feita!
Sign of the cross is one of my favorite Iron Maiden songs ever but I love this entire album I still listen it frequently
The X Factor. One of my favouriteIron Maiden albums.Really I prefer the dark atmosphere of his album than the excesive progressive and opera style from the Bruce era.(But I really like Bruce like frontman)
The thing i love about blaze is that he used the punky snarl tone Paul uses and the high note opera vocals Bruce uses and combined into one voice but seriously he doesn't deserve the hate he got
He just wants to go home to his daughter.
And everyone would just stay out of his way, no one would get hurt.
This is an amazing song and Blaze got it!
good song
Blaze era is really good.Just different take on maiden. He contribute something lil dif.
Saw Blaze playing this live on the very beginning of 2020, it was my last concert before the pandemic, it was epic!!
I always thought that Blaze Bayley looks a lot like Neil Young during his era with Iron Maiden.
For me he looks like myles Kennedy idk y lol
listen to going home by neil young, simply kick ass
Masterpiece ❤️
This should have been the theme song for the movie "Falling Down".
Yes I know the movie inspired this song.
It was made 2 years before the song was.
@@Hellwyck but still
Blaze is amazing. All maiden is great. With Paul, Bruce, and blaze. All unique, all the best !!!!
Criminally underated
Недооценённый 🙁😒 не в бровь а в глаз. Точное слово. 👍👍👍💪
Iron Maiden ought to do a live version of this with both Bruce Dickinson and Blaze Bayley singing it together. And release it as a single. It will be awesome!
It took a long time for the fans to accept Blaze, but people are noticing now how good some of his material with Maiden actually was. And he's become a great solo artist in his own right.
One of Maiden´s best song!
Excelente trabalho !
Quando os caras fizeram esse álbum , estavam muito inspirado !!!
Blaze took up a difficult mantle. He's a great singer and I remember getting this album and thinking "Wow, they didn't get a Bruce-alike. They did something rather original; kind of like when Paul was replaced". This is one of my fav songs on this album.
Buenísima canción de los Maiden ,graciass.
Melhor de todos !!!!!!!
A catchy, blistering song from the masterpiece album: X-Factor....To me this era is Pure Gold, even if the albums and certainly Blaze is VASTLY underrated, we still hear echoes in their later music.......A Golden Gem, that´s for sure....
Bruce is the best singer, Paul is my favorite but this is my favorite song
Blaze Bayley
No doubts that I like Bruce so much
Blaze deserves respect more than he got.
I salut you, mr. Bailey.
Excellent album, excellent front man and the only living person that could really have replaced Bruce since Paul had burned so many bridges with the group. Much respect to Blaze, up the Irons!
Up the Blazing Irons!
De acá en Paraná entre ríos Argentina Guillermo les Digo que este tema está cansion es una de las mejores de iron Maiden! ⚡🇦🇷⚡
"Falling Down" is a masterpiece and how society treats us the older we get. That and They Live are really truly masterpieces of how bad society forces us to live today. That said, I agree with both movies on how just unjust society really is for most of us that don't belong to the upper elites. The song is pretty good too. Underrated album.
Stop fucking arguing whos better every Iron maiden singer stands tall in their own right we are all here regardless of the year/line up because we all love Iron Maiden Up The Fucking Irons
Most underrated maiden album..... Blaze absolutely nailed it
I like this song, IMO it's probably one of the only great Blaze Bayley songs, I like how certain parts of it are inspired by Aces High.
Not really a fan of this kind of music but I do like this song. The song is just as good as the movie that inspired it so I would suggest if you like the song check out the movie...... And yes the movies called falling down.
Valeu muito Blaze !!! 🖤🎼
good voice, but it paints a different picture of iron maiden to me...however, when Bruce came back, blaze was cool with it and supported it. that tells you a lot about his character and musicianship.

blazee rules!!
Blaze Bayley God
Best Iron Maiden album, period!
The whole "X Factor" album is extremely well mixed, a total delight to audiophiles. Definitely on my music library.
One of the few times Maiden sounded close to thrash or speed metal
On a doom metal record, actually.
This song was number 1 on charts in Finland the day i was born.
Maiden haven´t just set the bar for metal, they ARE the bar...and NO ONE even comes close to this Legendary band..NO ONE....
omg i was pissed when bruce left maiden i didnt even give blaze a chance now i look back on these two albums i missed out on great maiden albums going to amazon and order them now!!!!!
Blaze is just great for this track
Bailey did a great job in his time with the band, has to be said
Undisputed Gem from the Bayley era
la mejor del álbum the x factor
no offence to Bruce but this is my favorite song from iron maiden
Mee too
Fantastic song!!

It was the best suitable song for Carmageddon 2 :)
I knew this song for that game, same with Be quick or Be Dead :D
Que recuerdos lpm... 6 años y jugando a matar gente :')
Up the Irons! From Brazil
Blaze Bayley is totally amongst the three best singers for Iron Maiden!
Phil Th. Pig obviously because they were only 3
Phil Th. Pig
3.) blaze
2.) Di’Anno
1.) Bruce
Yeah, right ))
paul day 3
cristian perez acosta nah I like the punk he brings to the table since blaze bring nothing really
The chorus reminds me of Black Lagoon
This very song made me an IRON MAIDEN fan in 1999 (and metal in general), thanks to the game Carmageddon 2
Best Maiden that Bruce wasn't on.
Just another proof of what an amazing singer Blaze really is....to all of you that think otherwise, check out his solo career, shows and albums.....to be honest, I don´t think Blaze was given a fair chance in Maiden, AT ALL ....if you don´t agree, tough....
Michael. Douglas.

Seventh Son and X Factor are my fav Maiden albums. They are so dense and special.
There are always those fans of certain artists in a band. Some diehard Paul Di'Anno fans, some Blaze fans, but there is only one Bruce Dickinson. Gers might not have been Adrian, but the fact the band kept him and has the musicianship to incorporate 3 guitars to intertwine their leads, rhythms, and solos, is phenomenal. And then there are the Clive fans. Yes, it was unfortunate he had to leave the band, but Nicko remains the last great single kick drummer, and at over 70 years old that's a well earned crown.
Blaze is my least liked band member. I'm sure he has his fans and successes, but I never liked his sound. The operatic powerhouse of Bruce's voice was a major part of my introduction into Maiden. Blaze never had that range, endurance, or even showmanship. There is some good music from that era...when Bruce performs it.
I remember when this CD was released in 1995.. All my friends simply saying " Wow, the only music that save this LP was Man on the Edge".. Maybe in that time , we didn´t prepare our ears and mind to apreciate this CD.. But I think its so far to be a masterpiece, but it will not be a worst CD .. Today when i hear this song from X Factor, in talk with my self .." Wow.. it a progressive metal disc.. it s wonderfull.."" Maybe Steve Harris when choose the Blaze Bayle, he wants start from "zero" the band.. and chance the way that they have done their music.. But it was not work with fans.. Unfortunately.. And after a several years the fans respect that their work..
Lord of the flies is also very good
