  • Using the leaves of Pachyphytum Oviferum (moonstone) and propagating them. How long does it takes for it to show leaves?
    Remember these important information:
    1. To get the leaves, pick the lower mature leaves.
    2. Move the leaf side to side until it snaps off. Always make a clean cut.
    3. Use a dropper to water the leaves ONLY AFTER some roots have sprouted! No Watering until roots have sprouted.
    That said, have fun and propagate!

    Stunning. Thank you. Which is the best season to try propagate in?

      Hi. It is best to start soon after winter. And indoor. If it's too cold, it takes time for the leaves to show roots

    Where should I place them light or shade?
    How often do I water them?
    Thank you

    love your moonstone, how old is the plant? can you tell how to care to have a big and pink leaves like that?

      Hi. Thank you. The mother plant where i took the leaves is about 2 years old. She's been in direct sunlight all this time. That's how it got its pink color. She's been watered only if the soil is totally dry. They can store water in their leaves, that's why you don't have to water them a lot. Hope this helps. Thanks so much.

    Hi! I'm really in love with the moonstone pachyphytum... and I really enjoy your timelapse here 😮. Surprisingly, mine has spider mites 🤔. Never see those suckers on succulents. I've try to misting the stems and the surface of soil with neem oil, avoiding the leaves so as not to get them wet, thus removing the powdery protection that covers them. It doesn't seem to be working. Do you have any ideas?

      Hi. Thanks. Did you try to spray with diluted alcohol? That's just what I do.

      @@thelittlegreenhouseofsuccu808 Thank you for your answer!!! Oh no. I didn't think of it. Do you spray onto the leaves too? I've 96% alcohol so I'll give it a try. How much would you dilute it before spraying? If it works, that woild be amazing 😁..

      @daphne6973 I used like 50/50. To the whole plant or leaf, if you notice that there's a lot. But, what I do before propagation, after I take off the leaves from the whole plant, I want for few hours or a day then I rinse all the.leaves to.make sure that.thwyll be free from any bugs. Then, I put cinnamon powder to the soil. So far it works for me.

      @@thelittlegreenhouseofsuccu808 OK. I'll definitely try this. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for sharing your tips with me. I hope that will save my beloved pachyphytum.. 🤞🙂

    Wonderful video! Question...I have a few moonstone leaf props that are growing babies nicely. I've noticed though that the mother leaf IS NOT drying...in fact, the mother leaf is getting plumper!! It's that normal??

    • @thelittlegreenhouseofsuccu808
      @thelittlegreenhouseofsuccu808  11 місяців тому +1

      this is very interesting. I never had that happen to me so I would assume that when the mother leaf started to root, it started taking nutrients via the roots and it was sufficient enough for the plant to continue grow. Other than that explanation, I'm stumped! 😁😁😁

    Hi! I would love to know in what light conditions you left those leaves for them to develop roots

    • @thelittlegreenhouseofsuccu808
      @thelittlegreenhouseofsuccu808  Рік тому

      Hi. That's a good question. In this video, I used a grow light. 12 hours a day during the daytime. Meaning at night, it didn't get any light at all. Lighting is very important for the leaf to propagate.

    How much do you water the leaves your trying to propagate

    • @thelittlegreenhouseofsuccu808
      @thelittlegreenhouseofsuccu808  9 місяців тому

      Hi. Thank you, that is a very good question. You may just keep the soil a little moist, NOT wet. I just put a cup full of water near it. And that's it. It got misted only when there was a sign of roots in the leaf.
