excellent news for sure, i'm not planning to go on that game for now (wuwa and my steam library is enough) but it's great to hear this isn't another genshin devs crapshow.
I had a feeling that they want to shift their players focus from genshin to HSR and now to ZZZ, like telling us not to get too close to genshin, as genshin is our first big project, there sre some games that have better graphics and gameplay.
Remember that genshin is immensely popular due to lockdown and some ppl are just happy to stay there and hoyo likely wants us to move on to their other better games.

The fact that genshin has many players that time is really due to lockdown is true, where there aren’t many really good gacha games that time. Everyone including those are not familiar with gacha all flock there during that time.

Genshin introduced a bunch of its new fans to gacha. And yet still has a huge playerbase in 2024. Lockdown has nothing to do with the popularity nowadays, especially when for older players there's not really any innovative stuff in it
getting feedback this soon that addresses things we wanted fixed/added is a good sign, I hope this can continue, Genshin also has a ton of untapped potential that will remain this way because giving feedback to the devs does nothing
Even though a lot of the things are plan for abit later the FACT its plan to happen and is being worked on is so good to hear. This is why I honestly do got high hopes for this game. Also I LOVE rally man

Honestly I didn't joined the game cause it had too many drawbacks, but i might join now cause I really like the kit design of characters this game, but if there's no combat then what good does kit do, right..
the manual chain attack alone may fix most of my issues with combat feeling extremely automated and cyclical, I see that as a win for those of us who wanted more expression during the combat segments
now the thing is just hoping that hyv doesn't lock any cool new combat mechanics to limited chars and forcing even more FOMO, but that's never gonna really happen, it's a gacha game and a gacha company after all...

@@formul8r10101 my main wish is to have someone that's able to do some midair combos to air juggle enemies for enough to chain between grounded and aerial combos
other than that, I'd also love to see more characters with pause or hold combos, air launchers, CC-grouping options and teamwork attacks, as we only have a select few characters that really benefit from them

They are going in the right direction doing that, cause the fights DID feel very "on the rails".
This will add some strategic element to using the chain attacks, do you want to build them up or go ham? Do you want to use them up or make use of the buffs on your main?
Funnily enough people who complain about chain attacks are button mashers. There’s a way to not activate the chain if you simply don’t perform that last hit in an attack. You can cancel is via dodging or switching right before the last hit lands. This change encourages button mashing and people will just keep harping on how button mashy ZZZ is.

What do you want though lol. The amount of qol ever since 4.0 has been very nice and 5.0 is looking like the biggest qol/feature update since release as well. If you're still expecting hard combat then switch games, clearly not the focus of the game.

Genshin has actually had a ton of quality of life inprovements lately and 5.0 is bringing modeled resin to Genshin from HSR according to leaks.

@@Sable813from the leaks so far you can get it from paid pass, every 10 levels of the sigil offering in natlan and you can craft 1 by scarificing a lot of artifacts and there a chance for it to also be a reward for major events in every patch like crowns

the only reason they listened on ZZZ is because the sales are bad. Genshin generates so much income, unless ya'll stop spending on that game, they will never listen. (they are losing to WUWA) also its unpopular in china compared to other games in that genre.
I heard of them changing it but I liked the TV stages, as its like a maze but would be cool if it was fatser buuuttt i like what they are changing it to as itll be like mini map
My issue with TVs is it still feels quite slow, especially in some missions where there is tons of unskippable dialogue, I get it in main story missions which majority care for, but other random ones? Not really.
the tv system will still be used a lot in side commissions probably.
I actually like the t.v modes as well. Just not during the story mode.

Drop the TV in story content but they can keep it in puzzle modes. Idk how many times the TV just broke my immersion doing story
I doubt they will since they are improving it further in later updates. I just hope it will be smoother. It was so hard for me to go through that.
@@kapeecoffee even in story missions, I don't see how replacing TVs with HI3 like missions is any better? You're still not "seeing" the story happen outside of cutscenes and the time between story events and dialogue is probably longer.

@@JohnWolf926 yes and no, the idol faction have 3 characters according to their official bilibil post. And they're the same character model as Koleda, Piper, and Lucy. One of em is a fully robot too, don't know about the other 2. There are also 2 upcoming mommy characters, Caesar (from Biker faction) and Jane Doe (from PubSec faction)

You should check out the leaks for 5.0, they're implementing a lot of the stuff from hsr and other similar games, and making a bunch of them even better. For example they're adding the modeling resin (artifact stat manipulation thing), and making it even better by allowing you to select the substats.
I won't get my hopes up yet until I see how they implement the changes. They made many promises back in cbt too but the barely made any changes.
I mean, at least they recognized the problems and even replied which might be the 1st time hoyo actually do,.. Keyword here is *RECOGNIZED the problem* and *REPLIED* which made me question my sanity if hoyo devs actually did this or just fake news..
This is like night and day compared to genshin devs who pretend the problems dont even exists and just glaze over them..

5:20 "Fairy Assistance", basically: If you completed a commission, but did not collect all of the chests, you would normally have to replay the commission to get all of them. "Fairy Assistance" means after you progress more, those rewards can automatically be collected by Fairy.

What I assume “Fairy assistance” will be is for any loot you leave in the TV fields and don’t feel like diving back in for, you’ll probably be able to have Fairy just collect that crap after the game is sure you won’t do it yourself.

for hollow zero it's fine to still use tv, but for main story it's really killing the vibe.

I just discovered the internet and being in the community today and I'm absolutely baffled on how the people's reactions for the TV segments of the game are totally opposite as mine. I think the TV is amazing.

They take fucking forever, we just have to sit on a screen for a total of like 3 minutes each missions waiting for the little text bubbles in the top right to leave so we can continue playing the game
The game has Story missions(yellow), Exploration missions(blue), and Combat missions(red). If you've played the game you've done these. Story is story obviously, Exploration is the tv side missions. Combat is the missions that just had combat. It sounds like they'll be adding a baby mode where if you beat the mission but didn't get an S buy doing a good enough job or by getting the three Hollow Observation Data's you can just ask Fairy to complete the mission and it'll hand over the S rank rewards you didn't get.
Hopefully, this will be implemented and not just another dev plans. Genshin devs really tarnished Hoyoverse's reputation for a lot of players, ngl.
every new change sounds great and i'm really happy a lot of better things are coming to improve the game!
but i would love if they also mentioned anything about co-op or multiplayer as well

Tbh I like the TV parts as a puzzle aspect. It has its own charm. But being able to run through physically as the character is so much fun. I'd be fine with a plot the route in tv mode then run it with your agents for extra goodies would be fun
They have to, their competition is Wuwa (yes I know those are different kind of games but they were released really close) so is good that competence is making games better :D

@@fable2830 Wuws was sht ass at first thats the reason why they went through 100+ hotfixes, minor and major update. It was unoptimized and overall a stupid experience for those who placed during the 1.0 patch

I'm calling wuwa QoL changes insufficient until they make tacet field farming less awful. Killing 5 mob waves over and over is such a joke.
@@lvrbad5588 HSR has been out for well over a year and a half, while WuWa is like 2 months old. Also HSR is from Hoyo, who has literally infinite money, while Kuro had to take loans out the ass to develop WuWa. That being said, I'm super happy to have support HSR because of all the QoL and endgame modes they release constantly, while I dropped genshin back in 2.3 after not implementing anything, it was a good call because it took them 3 more years to even start doing QoL stuff.
I have mixed feeling about this more challenging content is great and less tv is great but what was the point of the time system if you can eventually just reach a point where you can change the time and controlling your agents outside of combat is cool but it feels like the devs are just trying to please the players without keeping their own artistic vision in tact (idk how to phrase this better)

I know I'm in the minority but this is a little bugging because they worked so hard on this TV mode thingy and it was actually unique, In fact I actually warmed up to it and now actually quite like it😅. Now we're more likely to get even more simpler gameplay within the story of just running around moving levers won't be that engaging as you may think. Just like Hankai impact 💀
It being "unique" does not make it good nor was it not already simple, on top of that this is just a style of archaic dungeon crawling that existed in CRPG's way back since the 90's but with a visual flair (but we moved on from that because tech improved). Navigating and exploring via menus and panels is just archaic and not engaging.

Just that I personally warmed up to it, and now actually quite enjoy it! My main bummer was just that the games story gameplay will be much more simplistic, and quite lame. Of course we'll see.

You should check the leaks for 5.0, there is a lot of QoL coming in the next patch, and we just got an upgrade to commission completion and battlepass dailies completion, making it basically spend resin>collect commission reward>collect expedition reward>claim daily bp xp, which makes the daily grind just like hsr.
@@cakegood last time I checked skin colour has no impact on gameplay, I don't know how you came to the conclusion that qol and skin colour coincide with eachother.
The ability to adjust the day and night made the purpose of the original feature redundant and the ability to use the other agents for exploration also made Wise and Belle redundant. Still a great game and shows dev listens to players at the expense of their original intent
Yeah i actually like all these as is, really helps with the immersion. its fine if they incorporate the changes as options though, just make them inconspicuous. Mtashed is legit treating ZZZ as a job, with the 'slamming through the story' and whatnot, which is not speaking for at least some of us here.
I'm a gacha fiend and I find ZZZ to be setting such a special precedent for mobile/gacha games with amazing 'everything', from art directions, production quality, to gameplay options (accessible yet with high skill ceiling). It deserves so much more for such an amount of polish and risks it's putting out

I do like the changes to manual and cancellation of chain attacks as I believe most would have accidentally chained if they play using the mouse and keyboard. That is an improvement and not an overhaul of the unique features. Devs listened because they cannot afford the "take it or leave it" attitude regarding the TV. A pity it wasn't the 20 pulls kind of listening jk.

Damn TV mode is awesome, rally missions are too involved. Prefer the TVs aesthetic and chill gameplay. Oh well.
There's definitely room for both. As I loved the puzzles that the Exploration mode brought. However I worry that they could run out of cool ways to keep that engaging long term. Ideally you'd want engaging zones, cool hacking puzzles via HDD, and hub worlds. I do believe they want to keep the game size smaller and be friendly to pick up and play, so this has to be strategically done.
With changes like these, honestly the future is looking bright for ZZZ.
My biggest gripe with the combat was the forced switching because for me it just breaks the flow of combat so badly. It also felt like it took away player agency, so I'm really glad this change is coming to give that back.
Point No.2 is the biggest for me. With it, the game is like playing itself and you just have to press a QTE button, at least now, they give you more freedom.

Believe them when you see them ACTUALLY improving things. They said the same during beta test about the TV system and they did nothing.
Devs for the grindy stuff like artifacts and upgrade materials just include an auto fight mode. Kinda anoying having to play everyday to spend energy. Just make it like HSR and autoplay that stuff please.

From the looks of it a lot of people enjoy the tvs but it's just the people that hate the tvs are more vocal and complain becuase thet don't have a subway surfer ad at the bottom of their screen
@i_lunarr it mixes things up and they obviously put a lot of effort into it. Might not be for everyone, but then again, a game made for everyone is a game for no one.

For real, ZZZ has been growing on me more and more as i play. Wasn't too much of a fan on the start, but was never hating the game. Was a decent game at best, but it's growing on me and become better and better as i progress. Awesome news with the combat modes getting more difficult. Can't wait.

i feel like ppl are being swept away by the "devs listened" meme. almost everything on this list is what you'd expect from normal updates of a video game. most endgame? improving UI? fixing the horrible time-related gameplay restrictions (have to go to bed)? yeah, all expected to be included with normal updates, these are not "devs listened" worthy. to me there's 3 additions here that are "devs listened worthy", maybe.
1. control over "chain attacks" - really i don't even know how the game was released without this. this is a combat-oriented game and i don't have control over how i want to approach combat? yes i know you can wait out the timer for the chain-attack, if that was their intended way to play then that's not only boring but actually criminal to plant noob-traps like that.
2. less TVs in the future - this one i'm cautious about. even with my very limited game time, the re-use of gameplay zones was very apparent and felt super cheap. replacing TVs with gameplay zones will only highlight this more. hopefully this will push them to create more gameplay zones, but we'll see (and ffs why can't we JUMP in a combat game?! dafuq)
3. being able to play as other characters while outside combat zones - again, something i'm surprised the game released without. in a character-collector ppl want to look at their characters and play as their characters, this is incredibly obvious.
the chain-attack control will make me go back and try the game again, but i'm not expecting much. my personal experience is that the game needed another 6 months of development before release.

Brother these are not “normal updates” for a video games. These are pretty sizable changes that are going to have a big impact on player experience. Especially the ones coming later. More than anything else, people are just happy that the devs are communicating about so many big changes happening so early into the game. It gives people confidence in knowing that the devs are listening and paying attention. Yea some things “should have” been in the game already but the fact is they weren’t. Don’t know why you’re being such a downer.

It’s not surprising that devs for a new game will make changes according to community concerns. The question is will this still be the case one year and millions of players down the road lol.
I know you haven’t gotten far enough in hi3 or pgr to experience this, but there are some god awful exploration mechanics later in both those games that makes it feel so sluggish. I’d much rather deal with TV exploration than be a slow moving mechsuit in pgr, or have to deal with mandatory walking segments and “open world” exploration in hi3. Rally missions aren’t sluggish, and probably similar to early hi3 mission styles, but I still have that slight fear that they might overhaul TV for the worst.
I said it in another video, but treat ZZZ kind of like Persona or a jrpg, and you might have a better time playing. ZZZ has a similar story loop feeling that jrpg’s have for me, and after going at it in that perspective my experience has become way better.

I hadn't heard you say it before, but I had the exact thought after doing my first rally mission the other night. "That was the most fun this game has been, and now I don't like the TV bits except for maybe in hollow zero..."
And they still aren't implementing ability to change music in the store... Come on.

Honestly , TV mode is really fun. I just wished we could get it in a less boring manner , like , it's way too long for the amount of combat we have. Like , I definitely don't want it removed , I do enjoy it , but just balance it out with the rally mode-like exploration. Also , the controls are horrendous for mobile , I really want them to add a d-pad/v-joystick to it , because I hate when you can only go to the TV next to you , and not just click on the other side of the map and let it auto track it.
Speaking of mobile controls , I don't know how the hell I can switch to the character before my current , I'm starting to think you can only do it with keyboard/controller. It feels so bad having to switch twice quickly to get back to your desired character.
I'd also love to have a skip button during city talk scenes (the parts of the commission when we're in the city talking , without that shared screen). Like , why would I want to skip the main story but not the side commissions? It doesn't make any sense.
I dont think they should get ride of the tvs all togethwr but yes i feel like rally is what the same should have been.

i just hope that the mechanics got better because it has the same problems as genshin, sometimes you can attack something especific mob and you end up hitting something way in the other way and it attack the other you wanted to attack it doesnt let you do what you want to do its really annoying

It's another game with a stupid name, it's called Neverness to Everness (or NTE for short), but it looks good! I don't understand why Genshin is so static.
The development team were super responsive in Honkai Impact 3rd. They made constant improvements to the UI, the in-game currency, the game modes, character progression... everything.
I suspect they will give ZZZ a radical overhaul based on all the negative feedback... which is great!
