If y’all manage to get this it’ll look absolutely wonderful with all of the passenger equipment y’all have! By the way how’s the Edmundston restoration going? I haven’t heard any news of her in a while! I miss seeing it 😢
As a Canadian national employee I have great respect for the Ontario Southland Railroad ! I love the F units but I actually got to see one at their shops when I was picking up some equipment a few years ago, nice to see the interview with Brad jolliff I got to work with Brad out of g o d e r i c h back in the early 90s all the best in your endeavors nice to see that unit brought back to Via colors
Bulldog nose FP9 alive and well. Idk why it has a Graham White E-Bell. Major update: the VHA has acquired the #1400 and now it's currently under restoration back to its Via Rail livery as of July 2024. Hopefully they replace the bell on the locomotive
I’ve actually been in the cab of one of the larger e8 locomotives, engine 6901 from the Southern Railway. The sound of those two 12-cylinder diesel engines firing up at the same time would’ve been deafening if I hadn’t been wearing earplugs.
Je suis tellement content pour vous les gars. Il est vrai que Via est un peu l'enfant pauvre dans le domaine de la préservation et je vous souhaite avoir les fonds nécessaires pour restauré et opéré cette locomotive pour 2028
Why not make a donation and get a ride? Say $500? Pay $3,500 and get to fly in a Lancaster out of the museum in Hamilton. Used to be $2,500. Sells out every flying season.
That sound ! Used to hear it every morning taking th CP commuter from West Island of montreal with FP9s, and generally the 4070 on on the train that started n Rigaud. (4070 featured in movie Silver Streak). One thing I never understood is that the train would start to move before the engine revved up. Hopefully you guys can preserve as much as you can since VIA has been cannibalizing its fleet since 2020. Make sure you get an LRC car that still has the banking system (10 got the full rebuild by IRSC in Moncton got the banking removed to save weight)
So you’re telling me that it’s harder to push the FP9A compared to the Rapido bus? Hopefully lots more people donate especially with that anonymous member doubling donations.
Will VHA also collect CP and CN passenger pieces as VIA replaced both when they found it to be less than lucrative and thus VIA is the evolution of CN Passenger service and CP service. Congrats on the great find and I wish nothing but the best going forward. Is there a public museum (I have a 8yo nephew that loves trains) that I could bring my nephew to?
I will be making a donation. Don't have a lot of spare money at the moment, but I would love to this this pulling a VIA train. Maybe in 2028 I will get a chance. Will you be doing a re-release of this loco sporting the blue and yellow? I would likely have to find a way to buy one.
I am definitely going to Canada to see a Classic VIA rail in action in 2028!
Hopefully this engine will get an original FP9 pneumatic train bell so it will look and sound all original as it did on VIA RAiL
I can’t stand Graham white e bells on classic engines
EMD steel bell sounds much better on a classic locomotive like #1400
I wish Amtrak had a historical society that could have bought equipment to do something like this. We have lost so much.
Fortunately that is beginning to change, there are people behind the scenes that are finally doing work to preserve Amtrak equipment
You see - America does not give two damns about trains enough.
Something-something-car democracy-something.
You guys are awesome! Keep the collection growing!
So ya took the FP9 out for a rip in the snow, eh? She's a real beaut there.
Next you'll need a B unit because It Ain't Easy Being A B....still my favorite!

That’s really cool, I hope everybody donates.
Love that horn! The bell? Not so much.
I saw an Algoma Central FP9A that was sold to BUGX in September of 2022. This is a nice sight to see.
Was it still painted in the AC colors?
Perhaps another release of the HO & N scale FP9A locos to help with this project?
I agree with this. Maybe do 6539 and the OSR versions.
@@BrandonWagner93 id so buy all of them lol
This is womderful news!
If Jason keeps the e-bell on that, I'll suggest it get painted green and gold in protest!

Love your enthusiasm @ Rapido!

You guys did a great job with 6520 out in BC.
UA-cam algo is waking up. Now I see vids 6 months old rather than 6 years old. Man, that FP9 is cool!
It’s a cool unit!
I know where this was shot, I’ve seen this locomotive in real life! I am VERY excited to see it on Via Rail!

Good Luck, Guys!
I remember when that unit was in service on the GEXR
If you guys want a FPA-4 locomotive my job will listen to offers from you guys lol

What ever happened to the lrc, edmundston and rdc? Would be an interesting train. FP9A on one end lrc on the other.
2:57 I think he missed the "ten bucks is ten bucks" reference. Oh well. John

Will you guys bring back that rotary beacon part

Super cool.
Get this thing back on the Toronto to Montreal run it'll be the best looking thing on the tracks even better than the Chargers
It would never happen but it would be cool to see that and the 6300 that is currently at the Heber Valley
Figures the man with a via rail car in his basement would be involved in this!
So the coaches 6539 will pull, will those need a steam generator car?
The coaches were converted to HEP by the Ontario Northland. Likely the 6539 will be retrofitted with some sort of generator
@@rapidotrains oh i see.

Your website link doesn't work
STOPID ebell
Goofy ahh ebell, maybe I could replace the audio file with the og bell used on these units
you guys are such silly billies :D
0:29 am i the only one who thinks this part is funny
If you don't buy real trains can you knock 50 bucks off the price of your models?
