    $177 million Dansby Heyward has great hair, so at least the Cubs have that.

    Let's be real. their offseason was strange, considering they've been rebuilding and indicated that now was the time

    Lets talk more about how good the Brewers are... and less about how ass the Cubs are.

      I wouldn't mind discussing how much more money the Cubs are spending than everyone else in the NL Central and found their way to the bottom of the division. Brewers are legit. Was there Sunday watching them coming from behind. Anyone else but the Cubs.

      The cubs didnt really make any moves to make their team better outside of Imanaga & bringing Belli back & the Bush trade that’s it …. I don’t trust ownership to really go for it and make the team better they’re penny pinching

      @@b-rad3681They hired Counsel who in theory was supposed to help put that 90-72 pythag win loss record to good use. Unfortunately as we’ve learned and hopefully Jed has too is if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

    So I think this proves how LITTLE the manager actually affects a team

  • @SanaKhan-bc2vo
    @SanaKhan-bc2vo 9 днів тому

    That's what happens when you go after a manager when you actually don't need one. Craig counsell is being paid $8million per year, while David Ross was a good manager. Craig counsell has ZERO WS under his name so why Cubs gave him the highest salary contract in the history of MLB. Instead of investing in players, they went after a manager and now it's backfiring. Dansby is the not the problem, he had mini slumps when he was with Atlanta but he was always good in clutch moments like 2021 WS, so no idea what's going on with him in Chicago. He is not the only one to blame, blame the entire team. Craig Counsell is the problem, imagine having pitchers like Imanaga and JS on your team and still 2 games out of playoff spot.

    I didn't forget about that whole: " we won the Busch Vs Zayher trade" early in the year . Busch is irrelevant, Almonte sucks. While the 2 dogs LA got are surging in the minors right now. But cubs needed a play now guy, so the trade was goid for buth teams. I just didn't appreciate the hate n idiocy outa the gate by fans and Busch himself.

    Cubs had 75mil to spend to reach the luxury tax level this off-season.. . 17mil went for raises to Happ and Hoerner, 30mil went to Bellinger(after a long battle w Boras), 9.5mil went to Neris, 14mil went to Imanaga... so this is where the money went... if they were playing better it appears Jed was given the ok to go over the tax to pick up bullpen help or a rental bat...

    • @flatusexpellus1779
      @flatusexpellus1779 9 днів тому

      And the 75mil is based on the decision by Cub to take Hendrick's 16mil and Smyly's decision to take his 9.5mil and Stroman opting out of his contract

      @@flatusexpellus1779 what about paying 2 head coaches? You left that out, they are still paying ross

      @@David.560_- good point, I meant it for the money avail for under the luxury tax level.. they are also paying 10mil leftover for Mancini and Barnhardt, but those weren't decisions for this off-season(and the 75mil they had avail for new decisions they made for this season's luxury space avail)they were both 2yr deals decided the season before that didn't payoff unfortunately... would have been nice to have Mancini/Barnhardt 10mil for another bullpen arm but, oh well... that money is gone

    • @flatusexpellus1779
      @flatusexpellus1779 8 днів тому

      Also, it's prob worth noting that Kap said a few weeks ago that he was told that Jed has more money to spend to get another bullpen arm or 2, which would put them over luxury tax about 4-8 mil based on what many relievers are getting for 1 year... if there is a good bat that Jed can trade for without giving up Horton, Caissie or Shaw... that salary can vary greatly... and then what we don't know is if Jed would be allowed to go over again the following year if need be... interesting decisions
