Great description of the process. You inspired this 70 year old to make an inside track in the barn. I love the modular design. The nice part is, every goof on my part will be intentional ( of course) which works for me.
Other ideas to eliminate slippery areas, (1) Flex-Seal makes their rubberized products in a spray can, (2) Rustolium makes spray can ‘bed liner’ in different colors, and (3) textured spray paint in camo colors....
Thank you for this in incredible idea! Looks like I'll start saving things from around the house. My first time seeing the plaster cloth. Right On Brother!
Totally awesome Tony and co. Looks great scale size wise.. The plaster cloth makes it a really easy way of doing it with no fuss mixing etc... An absolutely well rounded RC channel my friend. Great stuff. Cheers mate 👍
This is really cool, never new plaster cloth existed until I saw your video, I would like to try this too with my 1/24th scale crawler as well. Many thanks for sharing
This is awesome! I've been collecting various items for the last month to try making one of these for my 1/24th scale rigs and your vid helped me decide on how to build it. Thanks!
That’s sweet! Looks like one could get quite creative! The sky is the limit. And to think I was going to bring the outside -inside...! My wife would of had a fit! Thanks for sparing me the hassle✌️👍🏻😝😂
One of the things I'm using on my layout is HO scale rocks, sand, gravel, and textured paint, then just add some flat based colors to keep it natural looking. Go to a train store or hobby lobby for bushes, trees and stuff.👍
Water down some white glue and sprinkle sand or color grout for texture. Another video said latex paint watered down in a spray bottle was fast and easy but used several layers. Maby this is power sprayer use time.
That's cool I've wood shipping crates I'm going to build in I've an idea of air dry grey an terricota clay if plastic kept over parts an misstede can have slick parts
Fantastic job man!! I loved the part at 5:55 haha....& the turtle was a good addition too!! I recently built my course using some Rc construction equipment lol
I'm really getting into the 24th scale crawlers. Gonna have to take a note from CC and build me one of these soon. Just don't know if I have the space to store it lol.
Followed along with your build and made something very similar. The damn plaster cloth was hard to find up here though. Only the local Michaels Craft store carries, no where near as wide or long as the roll you had, but I just bought extra rolls and made it work! Any tips on adding a grippier texture? Does the paint help a good bit? I haven't got to the paint yet. I thought of maybe putting some flex seal on and then sprinkle sand, dirt or cat litter all over for some grip. Thanks for video!
@@CCxRC Copy. Thanks for the reply. I'll give that a shot and see how it works out. I'm working on additional pieces to make my course bigger. Gonna try spray foam that hardens up. Then I'll cut it to shape, sand and paint it as well.
Anyone got a flat back, hill for sale. I saw one up against the desk at a hobby store. It like a hill with trails, rock crawling course. Maybe made out of fiberglass
I used about 1.5 rolls between the two boards. Depends how high you go and if you double it up. Both the kinds I used that were good are listed in the description. I didn't list the junk stuff I tried that was only $10. Get what you pay for.
I shot one adding moss and rocks to it, but the GoPro corrupted the files. I have it complete and even brought it when we moved to Virginia. Basically the same as I’m this video, but with some greenery on it. I need to remove the part 1 from the title and thumbnail and just let it be what it is.
Rather than spend $30 on a roll of plaster paper, why not go true old school for pennies on the dollar and just papier mache it? Would seem to have approximately the same end result.
Nice! so much work..reminded me of when I did my 1/24 IR tank battlefield on my 18x6ft table..this was when i was not 100% completely finished I added all battle accessories and guys on the table later on. ua-cam.com/video/RcXn4rIBPww/v-deo.html
I used old towels and shirts dipped in a 3 dollar bag of quick crete. turned out great!!!
Plaster if you want it light. Quick Crete sounds like some grippy surfaces. I'm thinking blue shop towels or muslin, cheese cloth might work.

That's what I'm doing also, I'm in middle of building portable course inside my bigrig sleeper.👍
Keep on truckin bro!
Thanks for the idea of the aluminum pan it's what I need to finish up my little basement crawler course.

The plaster cloth really lets you make that craziness I created and make it into neat looking hills
Window screen works real good as well.
I've been looking at different ways of making a mini course and this is definitely a lot of help, thank you!
Cool ideas for creating a 1/24 scale trail. Thanks for sharing your plans and materials list.

Glad you like it. I enjoy many sides of the hobby and try my best to vary the content when i can .
This was the video that inspired me to build my course. Just came across it again and it’s funny it seems so long ago I watched it and got my start!

Awesome course Tony 👍🏻

Very cool! I did the same. Felt so good to get it started.

I made 1 also.6x4 turned out out good.
Thinking of doing another as i built a teeter todder tiday and it needs a home.lol
Excellent Tony! Looking forward to part 2. I hired my kids to start mine up. Coming together slowly. Really love how yours is coming out!
Awesome! Thank you! Get them building!
Awesome inspiration an plaster cloth...thats so cool thanks for ideas man
Making a big mess is part of the fun of this hobby!😂😂
Yeah super cool Tony, turned out awesome. Got to build me something, appreciate you sharing
Very Nice Tony!
Nice course. You have inspired me to build something similar. First I have to buy a new motor mine burned out in the jeep.
Course looks great. Looks like a lot of fun for 1/24 trucks. Great video!
Thanks Axio! You seem to be liking that larger course you've got to play on now.
Awesome idea , as I’ve got an micro crawler and it’ll keep the nephew and niece busy for a bit .

Very cool project bro. Hours of fun there.
You got that right! Hours of more fun working on it ahead too. Very fun build
Fantastic job man!! I loved the part at 5:55 haha....& the turtle was a good addition too!! I recently built my course using some Rc construction equipment lol
Turned out way better than I expected...especially after seeing how my first hill looked before the plaster cloth.
This is a great video Tony. I'll have to use this as inspiration for my own indoor course!
Please do! You'll have fun making it
Very cool project 👍 nice work guys

great how-to video!!!! keep killing it bro!!
Thanks for the inspiration! I was originally going to use spray foam, but I like this way better.
You convinced me to get one Tony 🤣 I got the Black Chevy one
They are fun little trucks. If you've got throw rugs in your house just stick books and pillows under them to create hills and caverns.
@@CCxRC You convinced me to get a turtle obstacle
I’m
Totally building this now, thanks for sharing
Great job
cool build,that came out great
I like it you can get creative and it’s easy to buildish
Was thinking that chicken wire would make a good base for plaster and some glue and sand could add grip to slippery spots
Chicken wire would work great! I almost went that route
Part 2 any time soon? 😃
I have that exact tortoise 🐢
Nice. I need to "finish" mine.
Nice work! thank you for good video!
🔥Nice man. GREAT job.🔥💯🔥
Thanks 🔥
lol the cat at 7:21
I felt I was in art class lol , awesome job Professor Tony , I need to do this for the boys, good stuff brother
Go get your supplies kiddo and get to building
@@CCxRC 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yes Professor, Stay safe brother
It looks great🤘😆🤘
Nice!
Great ideas man, subbed 👍
I need to convince The boss to build a tack like this and order a couple of c10s 😀👍
Good stuff man. That came out great! -"Angry" Dave
💪🏾💯🚀🔥... must have for any office
Couldn't agree more :)
Textured spray paint or truck bed coating works for traction on terrain
You should use the $3 tin to make it like rumble strips cuz the way looks at the bottom.
Forget the fence build it up so it drivable thrn add fence.
Was there a part 2 I really like the way this went together
Wow! So cool
Love it.
Nice work 👍👍🍻🔥
Hairspray for the slippery
try flex stone paint for grip and looks
You can use egg cartons too
Even the cat is impressed
Tony I commented with shen RC and left a link for ya ..but It's not showing here?
I'll check and see if it got held for review
HMM...I approved it but I don't see it. It was about your battle tank course
@@CCxRC I see it now it worked.

You can paint in some sand to add some grip.

Do you think you could leave something like this outside permanently without it getting ruined?
No. I think it would get destroyed
Make a log bridge to go over the water in one part of the course
That is one of the plans. I bought a bunch of small dowel rods to make bridges and other things with.
Nice 👍🏼 did you use the whole roll of that plaster material?
I see it on amazon.

Pretty soon your going to need another studio/rc room. Also bunk beds more room for atrocities.
What the Pho`k I looked all over your channel and never found part 2 of this video so did I miss it or did you just give up???????

You can see it here at 12 minutes into the video ua-cam.com/video/FcUqoSytNns/v-deo.html
I guess you could use paper mache instead of cloth?
Rather than spend $30 on a roll of plaster paper, why not go true old school for pennies on the dollar and just papier mache it? Would seem to have approximately the same end result.
That's definitely an option.

Just make it wider.
in the beginning i explained why I did not: portability and rearrangement (but it's also to fit in the space I have for it)
First again!!
Legend.
Buy most this stuff at dollar tree guys.
This is very true.
Every place is sold out of plaster paper. People are using it for toilet paper
First
Dirt would've been better.
Could also use a light coat of concrete
