its not about magic its about relatability. I hated watching goats because it meant as a dps player i had nothing to practice or aspire for, because at the highest level, the best dps player in the world is not allowed to play anything that isnt brig or zarya or he will lose. Took all the fun out of the game and gave me no goal to work towards in ranked so i just quit as did many of my friends.
Metas are fine if it has counters. Mauga and Orisa can’t be meta when Sigma and Zarya can keep them in check. The issue lies with certain heroes who can work around comps and counters. Kiriko, Bap, and Widow are very unhealthy for the game.
I honestly don't care how long Juno meta lasts, she's a breath of fresh air, she's the only well designed support this game has ever gotten in my opinion to be honest, I think the rest of them are all pretty frustrating and horrible, including Ana. She doesn't have any immortalities, she's incredibly punishable, she has agency without feeling cheap, she requires aim, positioning and knowledge, there's a lot of mistakes you can make, she's approachable without being simple. She's also not limiting, she's not a brawl support like baptiste, she isn't a poke support like zen, she's just a good support, her first meta was a dva meta and now we're in a brawlier meta, she can fit in anywhere without constricting the rest of your team comp because she's just well designed for the game, I don't think the devs have ever achieved something like Juno before, she's peak.
I don't really like Lucio to be honest. I'd rather be seeing Juno as a staple than Lucio in my games, considering I'm either seeing only speed boost/healing aura Lucios or Reddit Lucios in my game.
idk what that first lucio even means wym speedboost/heal lucios isnt that just lucio? also a lot of times its not the lucio but the understanding of how to play with Lucio. Theres a reason before Juno Lucio dominated all the time (no matter how shit the character felt with dmg or boop nerfs)
@ My bad, I’m referring to those Lucios who only using speedboost or only using heal aura. Of course good Lucios are good at providing so much value by heals and speed boost, but considering most Lucios in the major playerbase are not giving this value to the team at all.
@@calebcfordog5472 im actually not sure this is true like at all. Ik overbuff isnt totally accurate but Lucio has the second highest WR% of all supports for whats been the last year in all ranks. Lucios value just isnt felt in lower ranks cause its not something that you can see off stats. you dont understand how many team fights youve probably won alone due to speed boost. I will agree a lot of Lucios do just do one or the other and dont play him to his fullest potential but even that alone wins games. He is the definition of a support more than anyone else in the game.
@ I have met really good Lucios that enable the whole team with speed boost and sustains the whole team with his AOE healing, which Juno can’t provide(sorta). I’m not implying Lucio is a weak support but I’ve met so many Lucio players that don’t really understand how the character works and just fails to provide the value that he is supposed to offer to the team.

One shots and immortality are not fun
I feel like this has been amplified in OW2 and society due to attention on a meta being hyper surface level.
