Hey guys, I’m Rabea. I'm the lead guitarist in Toska, Frog Leap & Dorje where I write music, make songs and have a great time with my mates. This idea of combining modules designed by various people that fit into an amp head is revolutionary, and it is undeniable that they sound great. Great job demoing it as well.
My first tube amp after a life of solid state crap (including a Marshall) was an all-in move with Synergy. No regrets.

Great vid Bea, I just grabbed a syn2 when the Vai module came out, if I had more space I would have grabbed the syn50. The modules are awesome, I can’t wait to get more modules and see what other awesome tones I can get. It’s a super cool system especially if you don’t have room or money for 20 boutique amp heads, haha

Awesome! I think my biggest thrill was hearing you play the riff from "Kid Ego", because you don't usually play anything from Extreme's first album when you go into Nuno mode.
Mental and colossal playing on those great sounding modules in that amp head, great idea to be able to swap in and out different amp sounds :)

Seriously though, looking like this time around they've nailed it with these modules and this time they really could be game changing. Imagine the possibilities in one single head unit: a 2 channel Morgan for pristine gains and 2 channels of Friedman/Bogner/Soldano or whatever flavor hi gain madness you want. This kind of combination seems almost tailor made for genres like modern prog and metal, with the balance of pristine, high headroom cleans and crushing drive. Bea, your ear for tone and you playing is right in my wheelhouse - no clue how much of all the hype right now for Synergy is just marketing or honest to god blown away impressions [see Henning Pauly] but damm if I am NOT massively intrigued now. As I think many others are as well.

I got into Synergy gear last year and have never looked back. I have a small 3U rack with a Furman power conditioner, 2 of the SYN2 modules and 4 pre-amps - SLO, IICP, Bogner Uberschall and a Fryette Pitbull. I get everything from Van Halen and Ratt to Dream Theater and Rammstein and about everything in between. I either run this into my Focusrite via XLR (no cab sim) and process with NADIR and some strip VST effects for recording or go live with a Fractal FM3 for midi switching, IR loading/XLR to house and effects in the loop. Really, it is that good. I haven't used a 'modeled amp' since getting this. Best part, I can buy all my other favorite pre's and just swap slots. Amazing concept, its a great time to be a guitarist.
For what it's worth...the Synergy system is actually a relatively cheap way to get some of these amps. For example...I can't afford to get the SLO, but the SYN30 with the SLO module is much cheaper at around £1400-ish. It's also lighter, and that module has two drive channels instead of the crunch/drive of the SLO, which is more useful to me anyway, and you get a proper clean channel into the bargain.
No, it's not going to be the same as a real SLO, but it's sort of half way between the Jet City gear (which is also awesome, by the way) and the real thing.

Bea, make sure you try the Fryette Deliverance and Pitbull Ultra Lead modules when they are released. I am really interested to hear your take on Steve Fryette's unique balance of distortion and compression (particularly with regard to the Deliverance's dual gain controls). Steve Fryette designed various Synergy products, including the SYN-5050 rack power amp. By the way, Bruce Egnater designs all of the unbranded (i.e. clone) preamp modules and finalizes the designs for the branded modules.

Great demo. I just discovered there's an internal switch for100/101 voicing (red channel only) and "Air" (affects both channels)

I just bought the Mercuriall Euphoria plugin which simulates the Bogner Ecstasy (all 3 channels!). It costs 90 bucks and sounds like the real amp! Check out their demo. I am not getting paid to say this, I am just a stoked customer!

I'm kinda late to the party, but I still must write... I think the Synergy w/Bogner modules sound much more open and SICK in comparison to the Super Kraken, which I also really like. In terms of pure gain-tones only, this makes me want to re-think my next amp purchase. Really.

Dude that gainy tone is beyond sick my go to was the Engle savage or the 6505 but damn man I'm hypnotized by this uberschall 😮😮😮🎸🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟 I bought a music man sterling ct30 from the site REVERB ...it was used from 2018 but was only 120 dollars and duuuuude 😊out of my 17 guitars it's the least expensive one I own but is my absolute favorite one I have to say ....those music mans feel great and idk who's doing their pickups man but they're HOTT as far as gain and fucking ridiculous crunch for the death metal lol but the 2 single coils ( neck position) sounds so beautiful for the easy stuff like jazz or blues or good classic rock from the I970's TYPE stuff 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟great video man

My humble ear teaches me Ecstasy sounds rather a little bit bluesy,being suited for classic
rock, and Uberschall be oriented hair metal with plenty of gain. Correct understanding?
The modules are a really cool idea but as others have said, it's initially quite expensive to get even before you choose which modules to go for. You'd think they'd offer some sort of discount on your first 1 or 2 modules when purchased with a head or Syn1 (or Syn2) module.

It would cost $900 just for a preamp, basically. I think if the preamps were all Rackmounted and powered by themselves, they would sell more.
The best deals are the heads when you add all the combinations . Get the head then add a syn2 later. The power amp and the syn2 are the most expensive out the gate.

It is nice that this system enables a person to swap out preamps but let's not forget it's never going to sound like the amplifier it's trying to emulate because the power section also plays a role in the overall tone especially the breakup ( power section gain ).
You could bypass the power section and use a tube power amp.
I don't think that is its purpose though, It's aimed at tonefreaks who keep wanting to change their tone and want a distinct one. So it does that very well

😕 could you blend two Amps into the power section at the same time?
Like a high attack Fender and a little warmer sound from the Ecstasy,
or Tremonti style a "Mesa Module" with the Überschall?
Maybe over the effect return and a splitter infront.
I currently am using a HX Stomp into a Blackstar amp using the 4-cable method. I'm wondering if (how?) I can put the docking station between my HX Stomp and the Blackstar so that I can have the following options:
1. Blackstar pre-amp with HX Stomp effects
2. Synergy modules with HX Stomp effects
3. HX Stomp amp modules and effects.
(All using the Blackstar power section.)
Haven't been able to find anyone doing this (or willing to explain how to do it.)
