  • This video is all about how you can change the fixtures default, highlight and lowlight behavior. on your grandMA3 console.
In grandma3 all fixtures you patch have a default setting on all parameters. Pan and tilt are set to be 50/50 so the fixture yoke is in the middle of its DMX range, and the same goes for all other parameters.
grandMA3 lets you change this very easy, and in can be quite helpful for you as a programmer to change some of this default behavior.
The same goes for highlight, and lowlight. You can easily change how a fixture reacts when you but it in to highlight, and that is also very helpful if you want I fixture to react in a specific way.
I hope you will give the video a like if you enjoy the content and subscribe to the event-lighting UA-cam channel.

I love how I can always learn a new feature, today I learned I can store highlight like this, I used to change it in the Fixture Type :')

By the way, you can also use MA + . to get the default keyword in the commandline ;)

    Again a fantastic video!
MA3 is a wonderful tool to be ‚enlightened‘!
And you’re one of these people who‘s giving us so much of your enlightened Knowledge to make us shine too! Thanks a lot for your fantastic work again!
Very often the highlight function can’t be found in the fixturefile and it’s not very handy to solve it in the file. So this is really a time saving and handy way to solve that! Wonderful! 🤩

Thank you, this was very interesting. im going to make myself a custom macro for the highlight / lowlight behaviour to make easier positions.
i am currently changing my Chamsys Busking show onto MA3, and i always didnt like that when i make positions with highlighting fixtures, i need to turn them completly on or off, which also blinded some artists in the past. now i can just change the colors from like blue to yellow, which is way more chill.
    thanks for your videos!

Thank you for commenting - and yes, I think the highlight/lowlight is quite nice in the right setting 😀
